Fuchsia and Navy

Posted on: November 5, 2012

Since I recently started linking up on Not Dead Yet Style’s Visible Monday and Monday Mingle , I have been trying to make my Monday outfits special and eye catching.  For today, I couldn’t think of anything more fitting  than a fuchsia colored sweater. Please check out all the lovely ladies on the link ups.

I love this sweater and the combinations with the navy as a backdrop.  Adding  a belt to this sweater really took this outfit up a notch. With my current weight loss I noticed a lot of my sweaters were looser than I would like, so I recently laundered them in hot  water and dried them in the dryer and it really did help tremendously.  I also added my grey denim jacket into that load and next week will be posting a previous picture to show you the difference.  Any little tricks to preserve some of my current items and not have to buy an entire new wardrobe, are on my to do list.

This is also the first opportunity to wear my collar necklace that I had purchased early in the season from Forever 21.  It was actually my first venture into that store as I had always just thought it was geared towards trends for my daughter’s age.  I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised at the number of things I found myself attracted to.  On that trip I just stuck to getting jewelry and leggings.  Where else can you find leggings for less than $6?

I am not a cold weather person!  While Fall and Winter are my favorite seasons for fashion, I don’t like being cold.  I am a real wimp about it.  My husband has fostered this even more by being a gentleman and always letting me get in the car while he loads the groceries.  Today was just about the coolest I would prefer for outside photo shoots.  So unless I am just running out to my yard, I may have to stake out some indoor options that offer variety.   Lucky for me, my husband agrees and is going to see what he can come up with since he is out and about so much with his job.

Gratitude- I am grateful that the Pittsburgh Steelers won their game this weekend.  I am grateful for the incredible sense of humor of my 16 year old and the laughter that fills my home.   I am grateful for daylights savings time and the extra hour it gave us.  I am grateful for the start of a brand new week and the opportunities that lie ahead.

Youthful, but not too young for you. Navy and fuchsia, who’d know they would play so well. Lovely.

Love the colors together, you look lovely. 🙂

I love EVERYTHING about this outfit! I would totally wear it exactly the way you styled it! I seriously covet that fuchsia cardigan.

As for Forever 21…I went there just this past weekend when visiting Chicago with my sister, daughter and niece. I didn’t even look at the clothes…I was enthralled with the jewelry and how inexpensive it was!
I got several items for a song, and was so pleased. Unfortunately we don’t have it in the town where I live.

I really enjoyed visiting your blog!

For some reason my blog flagged your comment as span and I just discovered it today. Yes, it really was an eye opener to me to see the selection and prices for the jewelry…

Great colors together.
Love it with the coat and scarf as well.

Visiting from Monday Mingle.
