Lady in Red

Posted on: November 18, 2012

Let’s begin with my reveal for my favorite outfit of last week’s Pinterest Inspiration Challenge.  While I surprisingly liked all of them and would wear them in my real life, this is my mot favorite:

So when your third child is turning 17 and he jokes you about being old, how do you retaliate?  If you are a budding fashion blogger, you run to your closet and put together a fantastic outfit and say to yourself “I look GOOOOD!”

I knew I had succeeded in my goal to show that b’day boy that I am not old, when my husband came home… His first words were, “That outfit looks great!”  Since red is his favorite color, no surprise there….

We took the boys out to dinner at Outback where our oldest son is working while in college…. We didn’t even see him though, as he works the carry out department.. I have to say that I am getting use to this shrinking of my family as there are so many times that it is just the four of us instead of six… I really don’t mind the smaller group… With the way I spaced out children every 4 1/2 years it feels like it did in the beginning when it was just the two older ones…It feels comfortable, but I am looking forward to Tuesday night when Ashley is home and we are all together for the next 5 days… Last year I asked my sister to host my brothers for Thanksgiving and continued it this year, we just need time for just the six of us… Christmas they will all be over for breakfast and dinner, as has been our tradition.

I have say I am so excited about this outfit. I purchased these red boots a few years ago and love them…. The top is thrifted and the sweater I’ve had for a while. these pants are   ones I had purchased a few months ago and couldn’t quite fit into, as they are a size 6.  I have been searching thrift stores for 6 months for just the right red purse and finally found it last week.  The funniest part is that it is a Nine West, the same brand as my beloved red boots!  How funny is that??!!  Can you believe there was a time I avoided red and didn’t think it worked well with my fair skin??

Please take a few moments and check out the lovely ladies at the following link ups:

You look great!

I love your red outfit! It looks great on you.

Love your outfit, and it is always nice to get a compliment from our husbands too! Sounds like a wonderful Thanksgiving coming up for you. thanks for linking up to Visible Monday!

Yes, compliments from the hubby are still nice and I never take them for granted… thank you!

These are great looks and I love your brown boots!

Both outfits look great. The red is an attention getter though. Fantastic find with the Nine West purse. For some reason our thrift stores seem to carry a lot of that brand so I’ve gotten a few. 🙂

Your husband is right – you look great in this outfit!

I’m a new reader and loving your posts. You look awesome in the red outfit.

I’m a mom to seven. I get the age comment. I feel so young hanging with my 25 yr old and so old when going to play dates with my 6 yr old.

Thank you. My oldest is 26 and I get the biggest kick if we are out alone with people trying to figure out our relationship… It is actually coming from girls his age group.

Spreading children out so far really is a different parenting journey!.

My best friend is a year older than I am and mother to only one child who is 6, so I see first hand the arranging play date thing…

loving the red outfit!! great color!

Very pretty, both … what a great lesson in color. Additionally, cardigans can look dowdy. This is how to wear a cardi and look youthful and pretty.

Size 6? Wow you look great! Red is very flattering on you. Our family is spread out too. We have six kids from 22 to 11 years. Never a dull moment and everyone is home for Thanksgiving. i have been looking for a pair of red boots.

Yes, they are tight but I have manged to squeeze into almost all that size that I have on hand…Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Red boots are a real treat if you can manage to find them!
