Red-Orange Skinny Jeans

Posted on: January 4, 2013

Since I finally decided to go ahead and purchase skinnys as I feel closer to my goal weight… I have added this new color!

I have to say a year ago if someone had suggested I buy this color, I probably would have laughed.  There is something about losing weight that has given me a brand new confidence to burst out of my comfort zone…

IMG_1434How lucky am I to have a friend who gave me this fabulous Dooney & Bourke in this same red-orange color!  It  is really easy to pull an outfit together with such a unique color when you have a shirt with a print to pull another color and add a jacket.  I love printed tops, but have had to get rid of quite a few with my weight loss.  I think this is just the thing to search for in my next thrifting venture… I have to add that this grey jacket has been revived from being given away after I washed it in hot water and dried it. It shrank so that it barely buttons on me now!

IMG_1443Side view is to show the fun zippers that go from the waist all the way down these fun pants.  These skinny’s are by Diane Gilman.  They are identical to the Espresso ones shown here, but one size smaller since I am still losing weight… I love this designer and these pants, but I do have to be honest with you that the zippers are not lined on the inside and feel cold against my legs so have to wear them with tights… I don’t know if I will be able to wear them alone in spring and if not , that is a real problem.

A new realization and my Gratitude for today:

My husband came home last night and saw these  pants on me for the first time and couldn’t stop saying how much he liked them.  I feel so blessed to have a supportive husband who notices everything about my weight loss journey and my new style developing… It is so great that all the things that I embrace outside my comfort zone are the things he raves about,  even not having any knowledge that it is a stretch for me. I guess I am surprised at how in sync with me he seems to be.

I will have to come up with some other ways to style these red-orange pants  in the next few months.  I know adding neutrals, like black, creme, white, tan and brown would easily work , but will strive to find something more inspiring as well.  Any suggestions My Dear Readers?

As Always my Dear Readers Your comments are welcomed and appreciated!

Tracey, these pants are gorgeous on you! The side zipper is such an awesome feature. I love this whole outfit. One of my favorites of yours! Have a great weekend 🙂 Heather

Thank you and you have a wonderful weekend too!

Those jeans look AMAZING. I love the color of them. I’ve been dying to find a pair of colored denim jeans to wear, but no luck so far. Found your blog via the Virginia Bloggers site. Great to see a fellow Virginian blogger!!

I went shopping today and the woman in Sephora said the same thing and wrote down the name of the designer and website… It is nice to hear from another VA blogger!

I am in love with the color and the zipper on the side!

Me too, been receiving compliments from women at the mall all day and Starbucks, too.

I love that look. I’m glad you were able to save the jacket. I’ ‘ll have to remember that trick. I just bought size 12 jeans online and had to return them for 10! I was wearing a 16 when I discovered your blog. This is the first Christmas in my life that I didn’t gain weight. I have bought a lot of new clothes, many at thrift stores and am having a ball getting dressed every day! I am grateful for Tracey.

Thank you! Congratulations on your weight loss and enjoying getting dressed everyday! Do you mind my asking what you are doing to lose the weight?

Hi Tracey, I have cut out all junk food, which made up the majority of my diet. I only eat when I’ m hungry, and no longer stuff myself to the point of being sick, lol. My portion sizes are now much smaller. I am drinking a ton of water and crystal light. So basically, I am just eating a very healthy diet, and the weight is coming off. I am thinking about joining W.W. too. Karen

Congratulations, portion sizes are a great way to go.. Pat yourself on the back for doing this well on your own so far! .I like that part of WW is healthy guidelines of how many servings we need of key foods and the push to exercise. I Highly recommend it and in fact think I might want to become a leader because I believe in it so strongly….

I love this outfit, the shirt and the pants are great. I love the colors. The bag is beautiful. Precious proposal.

Thank you, I can’t believe how many compliments I received on this outfit in person and online.

Amazing Tracey!!
Those jeans are super. I love those on you (and so wish I could wear them too), yet, I couldn’t dare to step out of the dressing room. 🙂
You asked for other colors to go with these pants: In my mind orange goes very well with a darker shade of blue. And although I am not sold on that, orange pink is also hit combo in the color blocking world. May be your styling choices could convince me otherwise!
Happy New Year to all!

Funny you mentioned blue as I went thrifting wearing the orange pants and tried them on with a Navy& white striped top and liked it. Stay tuned I may do a week’s worth of outfits using these pants…

Just came over from the Watch What I’m Wearing hop, and am so glad I did! I like what you are wearing, I like what you are saying, and I am following you! Can’t wait to catch up on your previous postings and read the future ones!

Thank you, I am a relatively new blogger and having so much fun!

Your jeans are awesome! love them.

Super Cute! I love the red jeans 🙂

Hi Tracy, your outfit is fantastic and I love your printed blouse. Is it a Diane Gilman?

Thank you. I have not ventured into buying any tops from Diane Gilman, as I have been too busy with her jeans! That paisley top is one I have had for two years and is by Motto a brand on QVC.com.

tights under trousers ? don’t they itch and scratch ?

No I have always worn tights under pants for added layering in winter, never had a problem.
