Voting Daily is still going on and I really appreciate your votes:

Instyle Magazine has  a feature on Paisley in their February Issue.  they mentioned that is a print dating back to ancient times and that the Beatles popularized it as “psychedelic”  on a trip to India.  They also mentioned that Paisley is actually a town in Scotland.  Who knew?

When I looked up Paisley I found that it is a twisted tear drop floral motif that originated in Iran and is believed to represent a floral spray and cypress tree and is still very popular in Iran today.   I love paisley print and am happy that my dear readers voted this look as the winner for my red-orange skinny jeans ensembles.

IMG_1434The funny thing is that three of the four looks in the Instyle magazine are all in red-orange colors.

The black and white zebra print came in second and I was so glad it didn’t win as it was so predictable.  Maybe not the actual animal print, but certainly the black & white combo.  It has  a striking look, but I think the paisley is more unexpected.

When I purchased the above top by Motto within the past two years via QVC, I went ahead and got it in another color as well.

I think this color combo is even more unexpected and I love it a lot.  What’s not to love about purples, pinks and the beautiful green? I loved the excuse to wear my purple ruffled ballet flats and a great way to finish off this Mom on the Go look. This color of cords is currently sold out, but Here is where I got them.

I took off  the sweater to show the 3/4 sleeves and that I tied this tunic top in the middle so that it wouldn’t be as long as the orange one above.  This shirt really is very versatile with the ability to wear it longer or shorter and the 3/4 length sleeve is perfect for spring, yet allows for layering now. I will definitely wear this in spring with a brighter bottom…

That is the extent of the paisley in my closet and I am satisfied with these two and their versatility.

Dear Readers, Do you own any paisley right now, are you planning to add any for Spring?

Gratitude: I am grateful for sleep, until you are not getting any you don’t really appreciate it’s value!  I am grateful for the possibility of snow tonight as the kids really look forward to it, even the one inch expected is beautiful and better than nothing… I am grateful to have felt well enough yesterday to have done a fluidity ballet bar workout!

I really like paisley, but only own one paisley top in oranges, rust, yellows, and browns. It really is a versatile print since there are so many color combinations to play with. Hopefully you get the snow you are wishing for 🙂

That paisley sounds perfect and according to all the orange examples in the article, right on trend…

I love the colors in that first shirt and how it pops against the bright denim. I don’t own any right now but you’ve definitely inspired me to get some more prints in my closet. Thanks for linking up today!
