Getting Back to Cold Temperatures
Posted March 4, 2013
on:The hardest part about coming home from vacation has to be the cold temperatures. I have spent some time huddled under a blanket on the couch with an extra space heater for warmth….Since I can’t hibernate forever, I had to put together an outfit to head out for groceries.
I started with a cashmere black turtleneck sweater and added a corduroy jacket for additional warmth. Adding the white jeans was easy as who doesn’t love black & white combo… The scarf came next to add a third pop of color, which made choosing the red boots easy. The hat is again for added warmth.
I am wearing a lot of Nine West brand here… The boots, purse and sunglasses are all Nine West, which was not at all intentional….
The entire time I was taking these photos, I was painfully aware of the cold winds and kept catching myself grimacing instead of smiling. Thank goodness my husband is a patient man and took lots of photos to catch me not bracing myself against the cold. In truth it wasn’t too cold, but in comparison to where I was last week….
Dear Readers, do you have those days during winter months when you just want to hibernate and stay indoors? I am so blessed to live in an area where freezing temperatures are infrequent and usually last a short time before warmer weather emerges again. If you are in the colder temps I hope you are cuddling up enjoying a cup of hot chocolate or coffee!
Gratitude: I am grateful to be having my Weight Watcher meeting and get back on track, as I only gained one pound on vacation, but since returning home I have been craving carbs like crazy…. I am grateful that I found the energy to work out, as I have been exhausted and not up for it. I am grateful to the squirrel who is making a nest right outside my kitchen window and the delight my two youngest shared with me in watching the procedure of the hard working squirrel running to the top of the tree and in one bite, removing a small branch and bringing it down the tree, sometimes dropping it and having to start over….

Oh yes, these cold temperatures make me want to curl up on the couch with my blanket and do nothing! It just seems to last forever. I love seeing you wear your white jeans for winter. The red boots are perfect! Heather
