Stormy Day
Posted March 7, 2013
on:Just an hour away from here the snow was falling today… But not my area which just got rain. I was lucky to find a break in the storm to take these photos before the winds really kicked up… With winds so high the kids are betting we lose electricity and my son is saying friends on Facebook have already lost theirs…
No sunglasses necessary today, grey and gloomy... That doesn’t mean I have to dress that way! I chose florals and my Diane Gilman Ombre jeans (sold out) in aqua that I purchased for spring…
I am laughing here at the fact that I have to give up the idea that I will get a photo without the wind blowing my hair… Even the tuck behind the ear was of no use…
This top is by Shape Benefits that I purchased through Chadwicks of Boston a few years ago and have been debating getting rid of. It has a panel that is suppose to compress your abdomen for a better look. Since losing weight, that panel isn’t at all tight and not needed. Every time I have put this in the pile to pass on, I take it out and put it back in my closet because I love the colors and the floral print.. I have it in purple and greens as well. I am glad I kept them, as I really do love them.
Dear Readers, Do you ever start to clear out your closet and rethink and keep things in your give away pile? Am I the only one who thinks a floral shirt is versatile and worth keeping? Do you dress more brightly to counter gloomy days?
Gratitude: I am grateful that my son was not among the three separate crazy accidents that took place among high school students near his school this morning and that those who were are not seriously injured. I am grateful that my husband is having successful sales these last few days and pray it continues as we are behind in bills. I am grateful that we still have electricity and hope it continues since my oldest is doing an online timed test for college right now. I am grateful for the miracle awakening my youngest had today when he greeted me this morning by saying he noticed the dishwasher was full and he started it. I am also grateful that my youngest also informed me that he realizes that he is being a jerk sometimes and wants to change that about himself (mostly to his siblings, he will be 13 in a month and I think is looking at it being time to grow up…)

I love the floral shirt with the ombre jeans. Florals are so big right now and they always seem to come back. I’ve been bad about getting rid of things in the past so I’m trying to be a little more cautious now.

What gorgeous jeans! Turquoise is my absolute favorite color and the ombre effect is just too cool. I love that you wore something bright and cheerful to counter the gloom. All too often, I opt for the black and grey that allows me to blend into the gloom around me. I must try to change that and take a page from your playbook!
How wonderful that no one was seriously injured in those accidents. We release our kids out into a crazy world each day. When they were little we could child-proof the house and watch over them. But driving, dating, drinking…
Being the parent of a young adult who does all of those has certainly gotten me on a more regular first name basis with The Man upstairs!

By the way, thanks for your kind words of encouragement. They meant a lot!

You should keep this shirt. It’s so pretty and can be paired with so many things! I’ve been purging my closet over the last couple of months and getting rid of items that don’t fit anymore. Sometimes though I get rid of something and then wish I didn’t! Heather
