This is what I wore after my morning meeting with our tax guy(in which I wore sweats and a t-shirt) on Sunday for a day of running errands and getting much needed groceries
This outfit brought to mind Giant Sunflowers, which as a child my Father planted with the four of us. We each had one and took care of it watched it grow taller than ourselves, then harvested and baked the seeds. I have a lot of Spring memories of gardening with my father. When you were blessed for just a short time (he died when I was just 13), it seems so amazing the number of memories he left behind..
I thrifted this dress and wore it with a jacket and booties in the winter. Love the versatility of dresses to work for multiple seasons. As for the yellow shrug, I purchased this in three colors. I have a thing for shrugs and be forewarned you will see me in these a lot for Spring. I find them to be perfect for layering and added interests during this season and even for the Summer when going into air conditioning. I bought these on clearance from HSN for just $10.oo (clearanced and now sold out) each and they showed them as just open jackets, but I planned all along to tie them like this…
This is the picture that I saw online when I decided to make the purchase. As you can see it took vision for me see this differently and decide to purchase them. I have it in hot pink and turquoise. I find a lot of crocheted versions while thrifting and have been picking them up over the last few months. If you haven’t thought of how useful a shrug can be for this season, I hope this and future looks will inspire you.
Dear Readers, my heart is heavy as I type this post. My prayers go out for all those in Boston dealing with this tragedy. My husband is from that area and feels so surreal that something so dear to the culture as the marathon is now forever tainted. Not feeling like writing a gratitude section and will instead just concentrate on sending out prayers today!
Tuesday’s Food Plan- Vegetarian Day

So cute, Tracy!

This whole outfit is soooo cute. Love those brown leggings under the dress with the brown shoes. The sunflower yellow shrug is a perfect color addition.
