Countdown to Graduation….

Posted on: May 7, 2013

We are leaving Friday to go to my daughter’s college for the graduation Saturday morning and I have so many things to do this week.  We decorated her room with all kinds of banners and graduation stuff to surprise her when we get home on Sunday….   Today is weigh in day and I hope to go looking for graduation dress options, as my daughter is losing her mind trying to find an A-line dress with a v-neckline or something similar… Seems like all the necklines are higher this year and over emphasize her bust…

IMG_3182Lucky for me I had these photos waiting to be shown and didn’t have to take pictures today since I was so busy cleaning and decorating the college graduates bedroom and giving her lots of moral support as she grapples with having to say goodbye to Longwood University and Farmville, VA.

My young photographer, Connor (13) suggested that I should curtsy in this skirt, so I obliged…

This skirt, sweater and belt are all thrifted and the shoes are from Payless last year…

I took these photos before I scored my yellow thrifted purse….

Dear Readers, This week I probably won’t find the energy to write anything inspiring as I have so much to do including exercising and will discontinue my food choices until I get back next week.  I over exercised with weights yesterday and  finally took ibuprofen!      All comments are greatly welcomed and appreciated!

Gratitude;  I am grateful that my husband is working so hard to finish the bathroom for our daughter’s homecoming (just has to seal the grout and put in the new ceiling light and fan)    I am grateful for several conversations with my daughter today and that she is reaching out for some compassion and love through her sadness at leaving college and troubles finding a dress she likes… I am grateful to my seventeen year old for all his help in decorating her room.  I am grateful that my cell phone is ok after I put it in my pants pocket and dumped it in the toilet!!!  I am double grateful that it was ok after a day in front of a cool fan!   I am grateful that my oldest mentioned wanting to visit his best friend in California this summer and I was able to reassure him that I think it would be a wonderful idea!!!  (he was hesitating because he is suppose to be looking to move out,but if he doesn’t go now when will he??? I’m in no rush for the moving out he is in college and I hardly notice him since he is so busy) I am also grateful to my youngest for the awesome shoulder and back massage to help my aching muscles from overdoing the weight work out the night before…
