A Night at the Movies

Posted on: July 21, 2013

Movie theaters are always so cold for me and a perfect excuse to break out some colored jeans…

It’s time for Watch What I’m Wearing and Visible Monday so please stop by and visit these lovely bloggers!

I love these yellow Liz Claiborne jeans, and the combo of yellow and cobalt.  I have a pair of cobalt ballet flats but keep wondering if I shouldn’t get a pair of heels…

I love the chevron sheer blouse.  Sheers are such a staple for me this summer.

My chariot awaits… I accessorized with a cobalt pendant I picked up at Michaels Craft store and a simple sterling braid bracelt and the white Nine West Purse.  I am so happy to finally have a great white purse!

Dear Readers, Do you find movie theaters cold and embrace pants even when the temps outside are down right steaming?   I also brought a goldenrod  Lands End boyfriend sweater which I draped over me like a blanket…. I’m not even going to discuss the movie as our friends picked it and it just wasn’t us… We both had the same thought that we should go watch another movie to get rid of that one out of our system… Next time we pick the movie!!!

Grateful

I am grateful that my husband and I both felt the same way about the movie and had a great laugh that we both thought about seeing another one.

I am grateful that my husband took my photos at midnight and I even got to stand in the street this time!

I am grateful that I have a kind husband who went over to his customer’s house along with my two youngest son’s to help the over 80 year old couple cut back their bushes and trees.   A good way for my boys to give back in this world!

I am grateful the man they helped was so grateful and made a point of addressing the boys.

I am grateful for the fun interaction at the movie parking lot who saw that we had dropped something out of the van and pointed it out to us.  When I thanked him, he said, “You’ d the same for me , right?”  If he only knew what kind of people we really are?

So cute! I wear “tall pants” for the movies too, and bring a jacket : > Thanks for sharing your great look with Visible Monday.

I havent been to the movies in a dogs age cuz they aren’t makin movies for people my age! But I love the yellow jeans! And yes, the theaters are so cold! xoxo

Too funny, I hope I never feel too old for the movies out there!

I love yellow and cobalt together. That outfit would look good with your cobalt flats too. Nice finds this week. It’s so nice of you to buy your niece all those clothes, not to mention fun. It’s time to start back to school shopping, but so far my teen just can’t be bothered. She never wants to start til the last minute when everything is picked over. Well, at least everything is on sale then!

Yes my cobalt flats would work here. So funny about your daughter, but at least there is an upside. I just bought 2 jackets for my daughter who is the same way and if she likes them great, if not they go back, but couldn’t wait or they would have been sold out… the games we have to play as mom’s sometimes….

Movie theaters are so cold, and so is the grocery store and the mall. I’m always wearing a sweater in the heat of summer because they keep those places freezing. My family makes fun of me wearing my “granny” sweaters.
I also have to agree with the above comment about buying things for the daughters. Frustrating! Tomorrow is my oldest daughter’s 20th birthday, and I didn’t buy her any clothes. I have no idea what she likes anymore; I do know that she doesn’t like what I like!
Love the blouse and the color combination! I wouldn’t have thought to put the two colors together. Where is the blouse from?

I foound the blouse at Burlington Coat Factory.. My daughter just turned 22, she can be quite ridiculous, I can’t wait til her brain stops growing.. about 3 more years to go!!!

Yes, I find movie theaters cold as well as most restaurants, therefore I’m always grabbing a jacket, cardigan or sweater to throw on (quite annoying at times). You just modeled the perfect outfit for the occasion, warm jeans in a fun summer color and the most amazing blouse. I absolutley love the chevron but I’m a lover of yellow and blue. By the way, love your fun glasses.

Thank you , I were glasses and contacts, but some days the sinus pressures makes it a glasses day!

Movie theaters are like freezers! You look awesome in this bright look. The yellow denim is awesome paired with the blue and chevron print.

Very pretty blouse. You look great.

I have not been to the movies in such a long time, I can’t remember what I wore. I am interested in seeing The Heat with Sandra Bullock. I heard it’s funny.

T oo want to see The Heat and love Sandra Bullock! That’s actually my next pick! thanks for commenting.

I love the cobalt and lemon combo on you, Tracey! I find it very hard to believe you have a 22 year old daughter. You don’t look much older than that yourself.
I rarely get cold in movie theaters – even in winter – but if I think it’s nippy I stash a jacket in my backpack.

Alicia

Thanks but I truly feel that I have earned my age through life experience even though I make not look it! At least with my daughter everyone seems to accept me as her mother with my 26 year old as a teenager you coulld see the wheels turing as they tried to figure out who I was to him… We got a kick out of it…It was especially funny with girls near his age…

Yes, you’re lookin’ spiffy! Brilliant color combo. I’d have never thought to do it, but it’s really gorgeous and very cool looking. Speaking of cool … I’m a thoroughly warm blooded critter, but I often freeze in theatres in summer. Better that, though, than too hot!
Have a great week!

Thank you! Yes, better to becold where I can layer than having the ac out for a few weeks the way I recently had duirng this heat wave…
