I spent the afternoon singing, “Rain, rain go away…” so I could take my blog photos. These are not great photos, but had to use what we captured..
My son was able to stand on the porch to snap this one before we went to run errands. I am wearing my Rachel Zoe trench from QVC.(currently clearanced with payment option and limited sizing). I love it so much that I own it red and black as well. I figured they were a classic that would be in my wardrobe for and were worth the investment. The vintage car is my brother’s and needs to be cleaned up before showing more of it in photos.
We lucked out and found an overhang outside the craft store . I decided to embrace the rain with an abstract floral blouse I thrifted. I like the striped cuffs and collar.
These metallic pointed shoes are quickly becoming a work horse. I will continue to rely on them until the temps get too cold. I don’t think of these as winter shoes, but they work for all other seasons. I like that they are a small wedge and that I picked them up for just $4 at Goodwill. In fact the top and purse are also thirfted. The Loft lavender skirt was from Ebay. Love buying Loft products on Ebay as I know they always work for me!
Dear Readers, Today was my son’s first day of his Senior year! I am so looking forward to not having to deal with the public school system after tish year as I have been doing so for over twenty years since my oldest started… I will be sad about how fast this year is going to go before I have to say goodbye and send this guy off to pre-med school. He has a long schooling career ahead as a future eye surgeon! In other good news my homeschooling youngest was able to sign up for 3 high school classes on Time4Learning , as this is their first year offering high school. He will remain in the eight grade Language Arts, but no problem since he is an eigth grader. He worked out a schedule for how many lessons to do on what days and is taking it easier on Mondays as per his request. I love working this schedule out with him, as he then takes responsibility for honoring it. Gone are the power struggles we had through public school homework assignments. That was hurting our relationship and now we are so much better off. All my fears that he wouldn’t cooperate for me to homeschool were so unwarranted. He is grateful that i pulled him out and am doing this for him… Year three and so excited to really work on his writing!

I am grateful that I am easy going and didn’t even flinch about my bad hair day for these photo shots,
I am grateful that my youngest is takin g on responsibility for his education and getting to college.
I am grateful that all my children have big dreams for themselves and are achieving them!
I am grateful to be at this stage of motherhood where I get to see the fruits of my labor.
I am grateful that I have five more years of parenting minor children to go…
I am grateful that my husband’s company announced a contest for a cruise today, and really hope he earns a spot, as I’ve always wanted to take a cruise!

Glad you were able to find a dry spot for your pictures. The top is really pretty and I love that the cuffs roll up to show stripes. I can definitely relate to the power struggles with doing homework. It’s crazy!
