Making a White Dress Multi-Seasonal
Posted October 6, 2013
on:We are having and Indian Summer
After typing that I wonder is that a politcally correct statement to make these days?
Linking Up With Visbile Monday!
Layering my Dolman-sleeve sweater over my white dress.
This is just one of the pins I’ve seen recently with a white dress and black tights.
I definitely plan on trying this look when our weather cooperates.
What do you think?
I love this necklace I purchased from Steinmart a few years ago,
My pink sweater was purchased from Metrostyle about the same time frame as the necklace.
I am so glad I went with my gut and ordered thsi swearter in an XS.
While this is a v-neck and no longer available, Metrostyle does have a newer version, Here.
I have several other dresses that I plan to make multi-seasonal as well and am
anxiously waiting for the weather to cooperate!
Dear Readers, I am so ready for this weather to knock it off and get on with Fall. Can you believe it got to 86 last week? If, I am putting in my complaints,,, I’d like to add the high pollen count that is continuing to make my mornings miserable. I am literally living off migraine meds and two sinus medications these days!
Gratitude
I am grateful that I have access to medicines that are helping me make it through each day!
I am grateful that my son who always gets sick has managed to steer clear of this round of sinus issues!
I am grateful that my son took his SAT’s this weekend and can now move onto college applications.
I am grateful that my daughter is still not home from her alma matter visit this weekend and is kicking up her heels (she is super goal oreinted and needs to work on balancing play)
I am grateful for a sense of humor and for that of my children who make me laugh daily!

I like the idea of a sweater over a dress, very pretty
The color of those shoes is amazing

this is a lovely look! you’ve inspired me with the gorgeous lace. Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday!

These soft colors look lovely. I bet the skirt will look cute and edgy styled like the pinterest one too. I just threw a black lace dress into my donation pile today because I’d had it about 4 years and it still had the thrifted tag on it. I kept thinking maybe I’d style it this way or that…but it never happens. I just don’t think it’s for me…. 😦 So off it goes.

Now that I have discovered the awesomeness of skirts and dresses, I am looking forward to styling them for cooler weather (if it ever arrives in FL.)
I can’t wait to wear colorful tights and my many jackets. I recently found a great GAP denim jacket, and it is going to be worn a LOT. I think a denim jacket would look great with your lace dress. Maybe adding tights and boots? I would like to see that look.

Love this look, Tracey, and am looking forward to seeing your version of the pinterest look, too.

Pretty approach to Not-Quite-Fall! Knowing you, you’ll be pulling all those pieces into Real-Fall and winter. Looking forward to seeing what you do with them, then, as well! Pink is so good this year!

great look, especially since pastels are so on trend right now
i love white all year round

Tracey, I am with you. From now on, I plan to wear white anytime I please, as long as warmth/weight of said white garment is appropriate to weather, or if I can make it appropriate with layering, as you are doing. Enough of that silly “no white after Labor Day” notion!

Yes, let’s get rid of the antiquated rules that previous generations put up with! I went to a movie theater last October and heard a young man(think early 20’s) comment to a girl is his group about wearing white shoes after labor day, I couldn’t help myself I interjected that it was an old rule and no longer applicable. She stood tall, smiled and thanked me!!!
