I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year’s and day off from work …
I got to meet my husband’s new boss, as he is sprucing up his office, and when I say sprucing up his office, I mean painting it and the conference/break room, putting in new counters and getting all new small appliances like microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, etc...
We were suppose to be at the office by ourselves, but I was very happy that I was dressed nicely, when they surprised us. The first meeting went well and I really liked him and his wife.
I wasn’t feeling inspired to get dressed this morning until I saw this jacket , that I had not worn, yet and suddenly my world lit up and this outfit came together. I had this Liz Claiborne, NY skirt from QVC in 3 colors prior to losing weight and loved them so much I searched Ebay and found this one in a smaller size… glad I did because i still love the weight and cute kick-pleat in the back..
I love the jacket, bought at TJ Maxx and am going to wear this more often, now that I’ve debuted it and realized how much I really enjoy it… might just become my new favorite…
My fleece lined leggings arrived and I’m wearing them for the first time and have to say I am sold on these babies and will be wearing more skirts and dresses these next few months… I actually searched Amazon and found fleece lined tights and bought them in black and brown so that I could wear them with my booties.
Dear Readers, It was very nice to meet my husband’s new boss and wife in the office by ourselves today, before the company family party this weekend…. I got the biggest kick out of his boss telling me I have remarkable kids and that he and his wife discussed that at theit ages, that they wouldn’t have been as great as they were. My husband laughed and told them that his uncle use to call them “Rent a kids” because they were so well behaved. They had helped my husband the day before with painting, so spent the entire day in the office on a day when others were working… I love that my children cut loose at home and are rambunctious and spunky, but know how to reign it in when out in public…
Gratitude
I am grateful that I spent the day alone with my husband doing some finishing touches for his new office.
I am grateful that his new boss and wife seem to really respect my husband and are grateful that he is shaking things up and giving the office a face lift (this was the one thing Tom countered for when they gave him such a stellar compensation package, well that and 3 weeks Paid Vacation!)
I am grateful that 3 of my children all pitched in to help and show their father how much he means to them.
I am grateful that my husband already hired back a salesperson, who had left the company due to the previous toxic manager .(he needed to replace himself…)
I am grateful that my husband starts the new job tomorrow, well today when you read this…
I am grateful that while in Home Depot today that we ran into the Principal who was at the school when Tom was PTA President and that his first words were that he still had the name plate with his name on it that Tom purchased for him…

What a well put together outfit! That jacket is a real winner. Love that scarf too.

Great outfit! I always feel more mentally prepared when I meet others and I’m dressed well…like its one less thing for me to have to think about.
Your children sound wonderful. We had a three area rule — misbehavior was not tolerated in school, church or at the dinner table. That took care of most of our public stuff because most of our life was somehow related to those three…lol.

What a fantastic look! Don’t you always pat yourself on the back a little when you’re dressed well and you run into someone or end up meeting someone new? You know, much more than if you were wearing sweatpants. 😉
Good for you for helping your kids learn how to act in public. Seriously. Most of us try our hardest, but I think we’ve all been around kids who haven’t been taught AT ALL. 😉

My husband got me one time to run out the door without makeup to go grocery shopping… Never again, we ran into 3 people we hadn’t seen in ages… I was horrified. He would never suggest that again!
Teaching kids your expectations never ends.. I warned my 18 year old rough houser that they were going to be in a business and not to rile up his younger brother. I warned the 13 year old that he needed to cooperate and not get difficult and pouty… Telling them before each outing is something I learned from my own mother who had four kids within four years!
