3 Ways to Style a Kimono

Posted on: June 5, 2014

I began adding Kimonos to my style last year

and Added a few more this season…

Of course the first way to wear it would be to just leave it long and flowing…

This Kimono is from F21 and here’s a link to what they currently have to offer.

I came across this way of wearing one one day while watching Susan Graver on QVC.

You just go a little under you bustline and gather two small pieces and make a knot,..If the bottom is uneven just pull the shorter bottom and it releases a little in the knot area.

This is just taking the bottom ends and tying it up at the waist..

This is great to show off a little more of the foundation tank top…

I love switching up how I wear a kimono and how versatile they are…

They look great with dresses and skirts, too!

For today, this is how I chose to wear it!

Dear readers, have you tried kimonos, yet?   Do you wear toppers in Summer?

Gratitude

I am grateful for a wonderful talk with my dear friend today, it always seems like our lives mirror each other, when we struggle with something , so it the other, when things are working well with one same with the other…It’s uncanny!

I am grateful that my dear son and I went grocery shopping together, I’ll take any time with him before he goes away to college in the Fall!

I am grateful for tight hugs from my husband!

I am grateful for frozen meatballs , so I didn’t have to make my own, but could fulfill the wishes of my children for meatball subs… Some days a mom just loves convience!

I am grateful for weekend plans with friends to unwind and enjoy time with my husband!

How about this for a Coping Strategy?

Something my yoga teacher showed us this week. When you are angry, frustrated or annoyed:

– Breath in and say: “How can this…..”

– Breath out and say: “……be funny? “.

– And think about the situation that way.

Have a Wonderful Weekend!!!!

Your kimono is so pretty!! I love the color scheme!

Thanks, it really is a great Summer color scheme and the comment I am getting the most on forums I posted it too… funny how I missed that point myself…I appreciate your commenting for that reason!

I really love how you’ve tied the kimono in 2nd picture. I’ve never seen it done that way and it looks great. I had one kimono and donated it about a year ago. Darn. Now I wish I had it to try out that tying technique.

So pretty! Love this look.
Can’t wait to find a cute kimono and style it!
