Walking in My Mother’s Shoes…

Posted on: July 9, 2014

Dear Readers, I mean that title literally…

I tucked these shoes away five years ago after checking my mother into the hospital and bringing  them home…

Today, feeling blue and in pain for my dear 11 year old niece who is dealing with the tragedy of losing both her beloved dogs,

I just felt the need to put Mom’s Keds on…

I loved the idea of this white lacy dress with Navy and sneakers….

It really epitomizes the Feminine Sporty Vibe I  adore!

I found this dress at BJ’s while grocery shopping last year…

My Columbia Sport Navy vest was addition to my wardrobe this season

and really works well for this trend and my love of completer pieces…

Note: I typically wear small tops, but sized up to medium according to measurements…

The strped bag is thrifted…

I think I’ve clearly demonstrated that skirts and dresses with sneakers truly is an easy way to wear this trend..

Tomorrow I will have to get get more creative since it’s a bowling day…

Dear Readers, Just a little more details regarding the loss of my nieces two dogs… They jumped the six foot fence and one was hit by a car and killed instantly, they were siblings and the remaining dog took up a post next to the body, while passerby’s stopped and tried to coax him to get out of traffic, but to the horror of everyone a truck came by and hit him, killing him as well… My poor niece is in shock, as are we all and grieving deeply.  She said “They were born together and they died together.” Such a wise youngster… who made a memorial poster and is planning a memorial service for next week..

Gratitude

I am grateful that my niece is finding healthy ways to deal with her grief.

I am grateful that she is planning a memorial service for us all to attend and support her.

I am grateful for the beloved story of the bond between the two dogs and will cherish it…

I am grateful that I finally wore Mom’s shoes, as it is something I had wanted to do , but hadn’t been ready to embrace.

I am grateful that I slept in today, as I really needed it…

I am so sorry about your niece’s pets. I am going to share something with you from my heart. Our community is broken right now due to the death of a brother and sister. She (18) was killed by a drunk driver 3 weeks ago, and a week later, her brother (20) was returning home on his ATV from a neighbor’s following a memorial time for his sister. A deer hit him, overturning the ATV and causing critical injuries. He never regained consciousness and died a week later. I like to think that Brianna and Brice may be playing with your niece’s dogs right now.

Wow how tragic! What a beautiful idea of them frolicking together! I shared this with my niece just now and she smiled.

Suzanne, what a beautiful idea. Tracey, I am so sorry. My heart goes out to the family and communities.
