On a Hot Summer Day, Nothing beats Linen..
Unfortunately with Linen comes Wrinkles,
but I don’t care!
A headband comes in handy for humid days when hair is out of control
With my love of boho looks, a head band and this thrifted vest are just the right touches…
With my broken toe healed, I now get to embrace my wedges…
Chadwicks is where I’ve found a lot of linen items , Look Here for Current Offerings.
Dear Readers, I am having a tough time and quite frankly trying to avoid going into a depression. I know the tools to use to prevent this, but am finding a hard time reaching for them… I did do yoga before bedtime and had a better quality of sleep last night. I also know getting out with friends is big , so am making plans for this week.. I believe very much in the “fake it til you make it philosophy.” I know I can beat this, but it’s not easy…I’ve let myself have one terrible time of depression and vowed never to go back there again…
Do any of you ever suffer depression, recognize it right away and suceed in figthing it back?
Gratitude
I am grateful for a good night’s rest
I am grateful for a fun conversation with my daughter about how bored we are with Summer clothes and how we are looking forward to Fall!
I am grateful for my strong faith!
I am grateful my mother gave me a small freezer years ago that we’ve put away in the garage, and now needed because our 2nd refrigerator broke… Feels like Mom is still taking care of me..

Pretty purple! Wish it was hot here, but unfortunately we have had temps in the 60s for the past 2 days. Feels more like fall.

You look lovely and cool:) Lots of exercise and a good healthy diet works well for me.Hope you have a good week!

When big changes occur in a family – like children going off to college – depression is an all-too-familiar result. When we’re very stressed, whatever our weaknesses are, those tend to come at us. You are very wise to see it coming and to know positive ways to react.
For me, my faith, my work (teaching), and purposely reaching out to encourage someone else helps me the most. When I feel I’m falling in a depression, seeking out someone that might need a card and note, a visit, a call, a little gift, etc. does wonders for my mood.
Hope you feel stronger soon! I can tell you’re a goal-setter and an achiever. Hang in there! 😊

Depression is a very complicated thing. It could be you need to address some issues if your usual tools aren’t helping. Fake-it-till-you-make-it is helpful, but I find it can only carry me so far. My latest solution is exercise. It has made all the difference for me. And I’m not alone, they’ve started calling it the new antidepressant. I would also add, one of the causes of depression is feeling you are not living life according to your values. Maybe that would help you to think about what you value (this is highly individual) and double check if you think your lifestyle is in line with that.
The lavender is very pretty!
