Sunday Afternoon I Spent Taking Afantage of
Tax Free Weekend…
It was a cloudy and rainy Sunday…
I didn’t mind a bit because I got a rare day with my two middle children…
Both of whom will be going away by the end of this month to college and grad school…
It was a great day with us just laughing and being our normal funny selves…
It was also a successful day in my book , as my daughter who had gained a few pounds in pursuit of her Bachelor’s degree has hated pants shopping ever since… Today she found 4 pairs of jeans, including a pair of green ones and some great bootcuts with black velvet details on the pockets.. And those two were clearanced for $8 each at Kohls… She love Levi’s too and found two pairs of fabulous skinny jeans, something she had steered away from and she loved them on her body!
She summed it up perfectly when I shared my delight at the day’s success,,,
“I went jeans shopping and didn’t end up in tears…”
After Kohl’s we headed to Old Navy for my son, whose first pick of the day was a new belt that reversed from black to cognac… He mentioned that he loved the cognac color , to which I told him was a very on trend color… He picked out two button up shirts as he has been getting a few of those to add in with all his t-shirts…
The best part was when I pointed out a navy varsity jacket with some white stripes at the collar and he initially wrinkled his nose at it..
Just as I was putting it back on the tack, he said, “Well, let me try it on”
He took it over to a mirror and when he turned around my face lit up because I loved it on him..He laughed and said,
” It actually looks good and I like it!:
Without even looking at the price i took it and headed to the register before he changed his mind…
I think my daugher and I wore him out shopping as he came home , ate dinner and went to bed…
Dear Readers, These last days with my two adult middle children are precious and I will cherish every moment… I love how close we are as a family. My daughter is even taking off work to make sure she can go with us to take her brother to VCU in less than two weeks. My son is sad that he won’t be able to go with us to take his sister to Boston College a week or so after he goes… Thank goodness for texting, cell phones, skype and Xbox live to keep us all connected…
