Fall Trends- Prints

Posted on: September 3, 2014

Yesterday I wrote about embracing trends through Color…

Another easy way to do so is through Prints.

One print big for Fall 2014 comes from the Menswear Inspired looks…

REEM ACRA: Black/white houndstooth top with crosshatch side slit skirt

The houndstooth Print was big last Fall as well…

I have this print  covered already…

I also added a scarf in this print recently when I was at Burlington and found it for just $3.99.

Houndstooth-Knit-Dress

Metrostyle has some great houndstooth options, including this dress

Another Menswear Inspired Print is Glen Plaid

Cute, goes-with-everything skirt and by everything I mean the best part of Fall - boots! J.Crew - Plaza skirt in glen plaid

This is a J. Crew skirt

These dress pants are from The Limited

Audrey Slim Leg Pants

Chadwicks also has some men’s inspired options

These come in Petites and Tall sizes..

ON TREND & IN STYLE: Menswear for Women | Eternalyst Style

Pinstripe is another menswear print..

Diane Tummy Control Straight Leg Pants

Again these are from Chadwick’s

I’ll pass on the the latter two of these prints as the items made for women are more work wear and don’t fit well for my casual life.

A great Aztec print is yet another Fall trend and most often I’ve been seeing them in great sweaters like this one…

Every girl should have an amazing cardigan in her closet this fall. For more styling tips visit: www.BrandedGlamour.com

This really does take an outfit from blah , to Wow…

I think these are much like the sheer kimonos, yet offer warmth for cooler season’s. .

This one is from Ebay

There are several others on Ebay if you search Aztec Cardigan

Multi Color Tribal Style Fringe Scarf, v7 (bro/org 1377)

If a cardigan is too much, how about a scarf found on Amazon

I have hopes of adding in an Aztec Cardigan as the season progresses…

Dark Florals is yet another print for Fal

With this baseball jacket, you’d incorporate two trends..

boots, dark skinnies, velvet floral top, black blazer, purse, and sunglasses!

A more subtle way to do the trend is with a top layered under a jacket….

I love the idea of  dark floral pants and am debating whether I am brave enough,..

These are from H&M

The print trend I am most partial to is Plaid…

New York Fall 2014 Trend Report: Mad for Plaid | Edited by Roopal Patel and Sarah Slutsky

Plaids been a trend for a few years now , so again I have a few pieces already and even like this pin suggests, added a different color for this season in a blue skirt I bought off Ebay…

I also added a classic Black-watch plaid as it is from my Scottish Heritage!

Dear Readers, the great thing about using prints to follow the trends is that most of them last several years!

Don’t forget if you want to indulge , but aren’t into prints that accessories are a great way to do them.

Purses, shoes, belts, scarves, hats all can help you dip your toes into a trend without going all out..

What Prints are you liking for the Fall?

Gratitude

I am grateful that my guys made it home last night.

I am grateful that my husband tried to run an appointment after being home for just two hours, but that it was a no-home and he came right back home!  He needed the break…

I am grateful that my husband’s first appointment of today isn’t until 4pm and he will be home for our first day of Homeschooling High School!

I am grateful that we found a great deal on a tempur-pedic mattress last night for my youngest, a great way to sleep the night before the first day of school…

I am grateful for a few days off of outfit posts, as it’s hard to get inspired with this heat wave, Yesterday was the hottest day of the Season , topping off in the high 90’s.

I am also loving all the menswear inspired looks for fall. Black and white houndstooth with the camel color is one of my favorite looks. I’m actually ready for some cooler temperatures as well. Can’t wait to wear my boots!

Fall is my favorite season and I have A LOT of boots, so definitely chomping at the bit for cooler temps…
