My Father was a Veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars in the US Navy and is buried along with my mother in Arlington National Cemetery.
What’s a fashionista to do when she is feeling blue…
Go to her closet and look for an outfit with a spirit of fun…
What’s more fun for a southern girl than cowboy style boots and a skirt????
I’ve had all these pieces from previous seasons…
There really is something about walking in boots that puts a pep in my step….
I love the Cover girl Carmel Creme lipstick as the color works well with my hair as well as the cognac colors in the outfit…
This glace bead necklace was bought several years ago at Steinmart…
If you have a Steinmart near you , their jewelry is great…
Even the addition of the hat lifted my spirits….
Some days, you have to just put one foot in front of the other and move forward…
My prayers go out today to all those who are having a bad day, to my friend who lost both parents just 4 months apart and to anyone who just needs a lift , that tomorrow is yet another day and remember you are not in this life on your own…
Gratitude
I am grateful that my son away at college has taken to making Sundays our day to talk..( we send texts more often) I had to laugh when two Sundays ago he was in a study group in the library and all the guys took a break to call their moms…..
I am grateful that my daughter is learning to let go of her perfectionism in graduate school and completely at peace with it…
I am grateful that we purchased the plane tickets for my daughter to come home for Christmas and got a great deal through Jet Blue.
I am grateful that a dear friend who is dealing with a lot and withdrawing, finally reached out to me today..
I am grateful for a wonderful friendship with my sister in law , her compassion and her ability to make me laugh!
