Modern Go- Go Boots..

Posted on: December 5, 2014

I distinctly remember owning white shiny Go- Go boots as a child…

I also remember how much I loved them and how sassy I felt in them…

Fast forward to needing to fill a wardrobe hole of lighter footwear for winter….

And here’s what I ended up with…

Of course these aren’t shiny like the ones from my childhood and are cream instead of white…

These are from Chadwicks and can be found here.

Check out these from Target that are more like the ones I had in the seventies

It feels great to have lighter boots to bookend lighter tops and I can’t wait to wear them with a dress or skirt…

And now for a close up of my hair cut and color…

I asked for a carmel shade but gotta say my hair takes the color and adds in red tones every time…

I think it’s my mother messing with me, as she was a natural red-head..I can hear her laughing about it in my heart…

A back view….

All I see is that spot that I have to investigate to see if it’s balding…LOL!

And one more of my outfit..

The pink sweater is new this season from Old Navy..

Dear Readers. Have a wonderful weekend!  My weekend plans involve putting up Christmas Decorations!
I am not looking forward to it as it’s the first year I will have only one helper, and my youngest is not the best helper .

I also need to focus on eating better… I didn’t gain anything on Thanksgiving Day, but lack of sleep makes me crave carbs and that has been happening for a few weeks now… In fact Thursday after my haircut I came home and went to bed by 8pm… but can only string 4 hours of sleep together at a time.. so was up again at midnight. back to bed at 4am, awake again by 8am… I gave up and went back to bed by 10am and slept until 2pm… I finally feel like I caught up on the much needed rest… Whatever this is, it’s a pain for this woman who use to sleep 8 hours and needs that kind of rest!

The lack of sleep not only messes up my diet, it also messes up my exercise stamina… and so the cycle begins…

So going to really focus my determination on eating better and exercising this weekend to try to break the cycle!

Gratitude

I am grateful that I managed to get the much needed rest my body craved.

I am grateful that my hair stylist did a wonderful job once again… I’ve actually been seeing him for 8 years now!

I am grateful that it’s the weekend!

I am grateful for answers, information is comforting..

I am grateful to my dear mother for buying me my first pair of Go-Go boots as a child, it went so against her upbringing and she quite often indulged my need to feel spunky and sassy…

Love the new hairdo! I have my burgundy jeans and a pink sweater lined up for next week too…as it’s sadly one of the few pairs of pants I can still fit into. 😦 I have really let myself go. If I don’t keep with it religiously…it the pounds just load back on so easily. Arrrrgh.

Thanks Lisa. Yes the weight maintenance is the hardest part and you can’t slack off or it creeps back on. So much harder to lose than it is to gain! I too have pants that ate too tight…

You look so chic!!! Love your hair cut and color! I appreciate that you value yourself enough to take care of yourself. So many mothers feel like they don’t have the time to spend on themselves. I used to be one of those mothers. As I got older I had a change of attitude and decided that when you try a little bit of makeup and care for your hair and clothing you feel better and are more productive. You are a wonderful inspiration in many ways! Blessings!

Thank you so much for commenting. I was blessed with a mother who took care of herself and wish I could scream from the rooftops for mothers to do so. I didn’t for a short time when my mother was sick and see women who just give up for no apparent reason. It definitely makes me happier and therefore a better mother. I greatly appreciate your validation that my message shines through !
