Weekend Ruana Wrap Style…

Posted on: December 8, 2014

I really think wearing a Ruana or Poncho is such fun and instantly makes an outfit…

If you haven’t yet indulged in this trend I highly recommend it…

At a recent trip to Burlington Coat Factory, they had a row that was labled “Sweaters”,

but the entire rack was Ponchos and Ruanas…

Black leggings and booties with a grey t-shirt and Ruana, so simple, yet so chic…

I added a pin that had been my mothers to the shoulder and it worked well…

It’s a good thing as we had a very windy Sunday…

Just in case you didn’t believe me about the winds…

I would have preferred this one silver pin that had been my mother’s but  couldn’t find it right away….

I then remembered that it was still packed in the jelly roll from the Ireland trip..

I was rushing to get dressed and out the door shopping to get home for Football…

My boho side is very happy… I swear if I didn’t like variety so much in my silhouettes,

I’d wear a poncho or ruana wrap and skinny’s every day…..

I am so glad that I added the lace fedora, inherited from my daughter,

because it was so helpful with this windy day….

I can’t help looking at this and wondering what it would look like with

a white top and white skinny’s with grey booties…

I could do that now or even wait for Spring,  such a great thing to see other ways to style a piece

I once steered so clear of due to fears that it would overwhelm my 5’3″  frame…

Dear Readers, I couldn’t just highly recommend a Ruana without giving you some other info, so enjoy this video on how to style one…. And here’s a Pinterest Board I created of some looks... I searched Ebay for some and found these and Amazon and found these. I am also adding the link for The Find, which lists options from various locations..

With these being so on trend right now, they would make a great gift,

perfect as they are one size fits most!

Gratitude

I am grateful that I put the Christmas decorations up this weekend, my first time without my daughter and son…I forgot how spoiled we were when my daughter was an undergrad and got home the first week in December… but now both won’t be home until December 17th…

I am grateful for the help from my husband and youngest…

I am grateful that I was able to listen to my Steelers game online, as the Redskin game meant with some dumb NFL rule that CBS couldn’t run the Steelers /Bengal divisional showdown and instead had filler on today….

I am grateful for a phone call, from my daughter tonight… I love just chatting with my only girl…

I am so grateful that God blessed me with my daughter as my second child…

That looks great on you! My mom gave me one last year for my birthday and I just didn’t know how to style it correctly! Will try it with a pin! Blessings!

Ana, thanks for commenting, hope the pin works well for you… Did you check the video link I posted with other ways to style a ruana?

Love the poncho! A fun look.
