Creating Curves

Posted on: July 13, 2015

For Today’s Outfit of Choice,

I had a specific goal in mind….

To attempt to create the curves that this menopausal weight gain

has temporarily stolen from me.

Pardon my too wrinkly skirt, I really should have steamed it, oops!

I began this look with my new striped peplum top found here from Ebay.

I bought my first peplum tops last summer from F21, and this year have added a few

of the Isaac Mizrahi via QVC

Last year, I was 15lbs lighter and loved them for their feminine flair,

this year I like them for hiding the weight gain in my stomach region.

I think adding the brown shrug with the rounded hemline added

curves where mine are currently non -existent…

All in an attempt to accept the body I have while trying to get back the one I love…

I was actually pleased with this look for the day and hope to try similar silhouettes soon.

With the July being my mother’s birthday month,

I’ve been missing her a lot and honor those emotions by wearing her jewelry.

The necklace is a gold rose with a big clip on the back, a vintage scarf clip,

but it works on her gold chain to create a nice pendant.

Today’s look was loosely inspired by this one from Pinterest.

Dear Readers, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  I am a little ‘bowled out after 5 days of bowling last week to get in practices for my son who is heading to the state championships this weekend.  I did sneak in a day of getting some sun on Sunday, as my husband and I snuck off to go to Mt. Trashmore (yep, it’s the only hill in Virginia Beach, man-made in the 70’s of trash)  It sure beat going to the beach, finding a parking space and getting sand everywhere.  We went for about an hour and half , just enough time to get a little color with no burning.  I liked it so much , this might be our new Sunday thing!

I am still on track for the weight loss.  Besides the morning lemon water, drinking plenty of water through out the day, adding in green tea and 2 yogurts, I have been writing down EVERYTHING  I eat.  I actually have a piece of paper for it on the fridge, so I don’t forget to write it and have to see the daily totals any time I go in the kitchen.

It’s been working great to keep me on Track!

I had planned to publish my weight loss, but I am not sure my scale was correct this morning, as it would mean I lost 6lbs in a week and I’ve never done that before.  If my scale says the same thing two days in a row , then I’ll believe it…

Gratitude

I am grateful for the upcoming trip this weekend and the chance for our homeschool group to hang out for a few days together.

I am grateful for our Saturday Night bowling league and the family fun!

I am grateful that I feel empowered towards taking back control of my weight.

I am grateful that I get to pay my husband back for all the times he keeps singing the Red Solo Cup song, by taking him to the Tobey Keith concert in August… It’s a funny joke for my Northern born husband who isn’t into country music…. When we were dating , he did go to Reba with me!  He will have a great time, as a bunch of friends will be going with us…
