Sorry Dear Readers, for not keeping up with what I said I would do
regarding posting my new completer pieces for Fall.
Yesterday, I was thrown for a loop when my husband woke me up with a phone call in which he said,
“What!” with the astonishment that sends bone chilling shivers as you just know something bad happend.
His Manager passed away at just 50 years old, this makes the third coworker in their 50’s that he’s lost in a little over a year .
My youngest had sat and chatted up a storm with this man just the weekend before at the baseball game and was shaken up, so my day was spent with him as well as texting my husband and awaiting my son to arrive home from his college apartment after moving in and going to play soccer and injuring his ankle… Just not a day I felt like posting.
Today, I got caught up on straightening up my closet and putting laundry away something
I have neglected due to take it easy and letting my knee heal, which by the way it has!
Besides that I took a walk to the grocery store to buy a few items for tomorrow’s turkey dinner.
While my kids are all here, It’s the perfect time to finally gain back the freezer space and cook up that turkey!
So My outfit of the day was a Mom on the Go easy skirt , tank and denim vest and flat sandals.
This Rolling Shopper Cart is what I use to go grocery shopping.
I can’t believe how much I can fit in it and roll home.
Today I had a package of bottled waters, 8lbs of potatoes, onions,
bananas, turkey gravy, chicken stock, stuffing, and butter.
While my Mom on the Go look of the day wasn’t fabulous,
I thought my hair in this shot was pretty darn good.
Dear Readers, the more I think about the year long challenge of playing in my closet instead of making new purchases, the more excited I am getting.
I know that I have barely tapped into the versatility of pieces that I love. In fact today I played with a few ways to style a wonderful Ann Taylor sequined striped sweater I bought on clearance off Season in Spring. I barely scratched the surface of how I could style it , but the possibilities are swimming in my head and I think that not shopping is going to actually allow me to have more fun with my clothes.
I predict that the addiction to purchasing and stopping that will return the passion for fashion…That’s what I want, not the passion for shopping, which is what’s been happening lately.
It feels so wonderful to have this goal for my 50th year of life… I think I will learn so much about what I really want for my style and look forward to all the unknowns that will come with this journey.
Gratitude
I am grateful that the swelling in my son’s ankle has gone down today.
I am grateful for my walk to the grocery store , I really treasure walks, no matter the length or destination.
I am grateful that we made plans for my birthday and are going to include my youngest instead of doing a couple’s retreat. The kids will head back to college , so it will be nice for us to do this with just the three of us. We are going to Massahutten Resort where I hope to zip line, ride horses and play in the water park. We will come home on my b’day in time for my husband to take me out to dinner at Ruth Chris.
I am grateful that I am homeschooling my youngest, making it easier to arrange these type of family events.

Well you’re right…your hair looks fab (I have hair envy!). But I do disagree with the other thought…I think this outfit is perfect for the fact that it looks way better than jeans & a t-shirt & tennies and very obtainable for the average joe(ette)! jodie

ps…total shock about your husband’s employee!

Thanks you! Good point, I often forget that, as I am not a t-shirt and tennis shoe wearing Mom…
