My 50th Birthday Week of Fun
Posted September 11, 2015
on:My husband did a fabulous job of making this special birthday a
true event!
After a wonderful Outdoor Dinner on the rooftop of “Supper” in the Ghent section of Norfolk
I am wearing my new Ann Taylor white and red pants , you can expect to see more of for Fall/Winter,
as I added a few Red pieces to my wardrobe.
Saturday Night , he threw me a surprise party at the bowling alley,
which was perfect , allowing the kids in attendance a chance to bowl and have fun too.
He purchased me this fun pink plaid fedora and the 50th Birthday pin.
I’ve worn the fedora three times already, lol!
He bought me 50 balloons too!
With the help of a dear friend, they all made it back home with me
and I am getting a kick out of having this huge bunch on my kitchen table.
Of course what child wouldn’t want to jump in the middle of all those balloons.
It was a fun night and I appreciate everyone who came and who helped my husband make
this a very special night and the best part of my birthday week..
The day after my party we went for a 4 hour road trip , here..
That’s me being pushed down the hill for Tubing…..
It was fun as he pushed me hard and I did 360 turns down the hill…
We took our youngest son with us and he enjoyed his first zip line adventure.
The best part was that as a homeschooler he was having a fun vacation when everyone headed back to school on Tuesday.
For some reason my husband e-mailed me photos of me on the zip line platform getting geared up and I never received it.
I love zip lining and want to do a full challenge course version soon.
The three of us getting ready to ride!
My son’s first time riding a horse on his own.
My sister in law had horses when he was little so he’s been on a horse, but was led around…
We also played Putt Putt Golf and I loved this butterfly art sculpture .
We returned home on my Birthday, Tuesday September 8th!
I slept in my own bed.. took my son to his first bowling for the new Season ,
then got back in the car for another road trip to Raleigh , NC
For VAN HALEN CONCERT
My husband had seen Van Halen in 1986 and was thrilled to be there.
He just had to get a shirt and change into it right away.
I have to say the humidity going further south was awful and we were hot and sweaty …
We met some great people on the lawn and took photos for each other…
I danced the entire concert as usual and am feeling it two days later….
I had a funny moment when they were carding everyone for drinks…
I’d left my purse in the car, so he asked my birth year…
Without thinking I answered, “1965, then thought , he’s not going to believe that! ”
I went on to tell him that I’d turned 5o just the day before and that this was the finale to my husband’s surprise week of celebrating… Of course he believed me, cause what woman would claim 50 if it wasn’t true, lol!!!!!
He yelled “Happy 50th Birthday” as we walked over to the next vendor for my husband’s beer and that sparked a question from a woman in line of how I looked so good at 50…..
I told her what I tell everyone….”It starts with good genes!” That always makes them relieved….
Of course I add ,”I stayed out of the sun and wear hats and sunscreen a lot and have used skin care products since I was 19!”
Wishing all my Dear Readers a Fabulous Weekend!
I will still be recovering!
