Leggings and Poncho Kinda Day…

Posted on: February 10, 2016

Today I was suppose to be styling a Vest for

the private challenge….

I tried with this look, but didn’t like it , so took it off and went for a poncho,

they never disappoint this boho loving woman!

I tried this with my sherpa vest and fringe congnac booties, but

didn’t like it, probably because the vest goes out right at the widest part of my

hip and was not at all flattering….

Check out this blog about wearing Navy and Brown, that came to mind when my

first outfit choice wasn’t working and I was standing there in all Navy!

I don’t know what it is about a poncho that just makes my heart sing,

but I could wear one almost daily, but then I’d miss my leather jackets and cardigans,

so alas I change it up and wear them just often enough!

I should have taken a close up of my Charming Charlie

fun Paisley necklace that unfortunately is sold out.

I am upset that somewhere along the way I lost one of my orange hoops that DD gave me ,

fingers crossed I lost it in the house and not on my trip to the grocery store.

Self Care

Today was a rough day with intense sinus pressure headache the entire day…I am proud to say

that when I made a quick run to the store I resisted my normal “go to” of grabbing a Pepsi Max

and getting back into my caffeine addiction.

Gratitude

I am grateful for a fun conversation with Facebook friends about Ikea , as I’ve never been and a potential road trip in the near future with possibly 4 of us going.

I am grateful that my son understood my headache and did his homeschooling and chores without me having to tell him repeatedly, lol… I am grateful that he is a sensitive compassionate young man.

I am grateful that even not feeling well, that I got dressed and went for a short walk to the store.

I am grateful that my husband agreed that I should get another Sunlight Lamp as I have been in a funk (I am blaming it on menapause, lol) for two days and my old lamp is broken.

Tracey!!! That was so incredibly nice of you to link to my site!! Your brown & navy is wonderful (in fact I like yours better because of the color in your necklace)!!
And I feel that way about a poncho also—it feels so creative & fah la la ish!! jodie

I think the hi-lo contrast of my lighter brown poncho added depth to this look as well. Since I am not a minimalist, it made sense to add colors in my necklace, might not work for everyone…

Really cute look. I don’t have any ponchos because I feel they overwhelm me. I like yours and could definitely wear that style. I’m wondering about your sun lamp. Do they really work? I have been in a funk ( basically depressed) for a long time. We lost my father 10 1/2 months ago. That is obviously something I will never recover from. It’s the premenopausal changes, 10 extra lbs, insomnia and the awful Midwest weather on top of my loss. I’ve recently started exercising and know that will eventually help but I’ve been considering a sun lamp. Is there one you’d recommend?

I’ve had a few over the years and have picked them up at Sam’s Club…. I’d suggest you check Amazon where you can look at reviews and different price points. Mine have been around $40-$50 and they do help. Exercise is great as well. I would also recommend starting a gratitude journal if you are not already and getting out with girlfriends for some laughter. A loss on top of menopause has to be especially difficult. Just remember that your father would want you to be happy and know that a day will come when the light returns and you feel right in embracing it. Sending you big hugs!

Thank you for the kind words and hugs. I knew you would understand having been through the loss of your parents. I do the gratitude journaling as well. I also have a wonderful husband which helps tremendously. Not to mention 3 amazing children. The oldest also happens to live in Boston. I am blessed in many ways. Thanks again.
