S

I have been sick for two weeks with this darn thing that began with sore throat, moved to sneezing and

then coughing.  The coughing is gone, still congested but essentially getting over it finally.

This messed me up for week 2 of my 100 Days Challenge.

I lost my sense of smell and couldn’t taste anything,

so salads and vegetables were not appealing at all!

So I can’t complain at all the I lost Zero Pounds this week.

The Good News is I didn’t gain any either!

Eating much better this week, and am upping the exercize.

Tomorrow Morning I am heading with a friend to the Beach to

walk on the Boardwalk for our nice 75 degree day.

I am using my sisters Fitbit Blaze for the first time and am liking

that it reminds you to move every hour.

Stay tuned for next week’s Results.

Not happy with the blog photos I took today,

as I can’t get past seeing this darn weight gain.

So only posting this one, lol

Wearing a floral tunic I bought from Jane.com

I love dark florals for winter.

Gratitude

I am grateful that I am finally feeling better and getting over this sickness.

I am grateful that in just a few days my two older sons will be on Spring Break.

I am grateful to my dear friend for inviting me to walk at the Oceanfront tomorrow.

I am grateful a few days of Spring like Temperatures.

I am grateful that I didn’t gain any weight when I weighed in for day 14 of my 100 day challenge.

I am grateful that tomorrow marks 200 days until my Cruise back to Bermuda with friends.

I am grateful for plans we made today for our next Parent’s Night out to make a craft using wine glasses of my sister’s.

First of all, Today is Day 7 of my 100 Days

following Weight Watchers Simply Filling method.

My first week’s weight loss is 5lbs!

When doing the WW Points system I never lost more than 3.5 lbs in a week.

Can’t wait to see what next weeks results will bring!

Made In Spain Espadrille Wedges

TJ Maxx

Last season I bought these in Blush and Blue and wore them a lot ,

so with green being a great color for the season, I just had to have these.

Made In Spain Espadrille Wedges

TJ Maxx

Wben I saw them in red, I  literally squealed with delight.

I thought having this shoe in 4 colors might be overkill , so

I went to my trusty You LOOK Fab forum to see what they thought.

One woman suggested that these weren’t on trend and I literally cringed and thought,

I have had some kind of Espadrille inspired Summer Shoe my entire adult life,

the next comment said what I was thinking,

“They are classics.”

When Stylist  Angie Cox piped in that this could be my signature style shoe,

that was all the approval I needed to go back and order these.

These brand new Clarks are one of 3 pairs of brand new Summer Shoes ,

I found in my sister’s closet.  It was funny to see that she probably did the same

thing I did and bought them at the end of last season on sale.

Funnier also that this style worked for me as my sister wore a half size larger shoe than myself .

20170220_142443

This is yet another pair from Kelley’s closet,

these are by Springstep.

It was so weird to go through her clothes and shoes recently.

20170220_142540

I have wanted a pair of these artsy kind of sandals, but found

them outside my budget when I did see them.

A huge part of this journey of going through the process of clearing out her condo has

been seeing so many of her things that show how alike we were.

Leave it to my sister to find these by Springstep and again,

most likely on end of season clearance.

Wearing her shoes will certainly keep memories strong around me and

offer emotional comfort.

If the Espadrille wedges are my signature summer shoe,

I dare say these open back slide on versions seem to have been Kelley’s.

I would say I am set for Summer shoes Now!

I hit up Ebay for a few printed maxi skirts after I watched Offsprings

and shared my love of the main character Nina Proudman’s style.

I realize I only had one print maxi skirt with the rest all solid shades.

Nina Proudman had worn a print skirt and open weaved sweater in one

epidode that I loved so much that I jumped at the chance to copy it with these two pieces also from Ebay.

When I saw these in the shade of blue more similar to the one Nina Proudman I couldn’t resist.

This will look great with the blue wedges I bought last year.

Yet another Ebay find inspired by Nina Proudman Style, as

she wore a lot of white tops or white kimono topper with embroidered or pin-tucked details.

This is very sheer and will need a white tank under it , but the good thing is that the sides tie

so it will work with me as I lose weight this season.

This Chico Ebay topper was inspired by the fact that Nina Proudman had quite a few

toppers that were shorter than the ones I currently have, and great for my Petite height.

This shorter Kimono was also inspired by wanting shorter toppers.

Nina Proudman had a red one with medallions that was fantastic, but

this will have to do for me.

Vintage-70s-Ethnic-Floral-Embroidered-Peasant-Hippie-Mexican-Blouse-Dress-Tops

I wore this floral tunic from Ebay with a long duster sweater

on Saturday and the good news it this isn’t a used piece,

so here is the link for it…

It comes in other colors too m a fun embroidered piece for my boho style.

This coral kimono , also from Ebay.

I just love the lace detail on the bottom and sleeve.

For days when I want a bit longer version with some fringe.

This one is also available and can be found Here.

I tried to stick to pieces that will work with my Weight Loss and I am

so excited to see what I can accomplish within 100 days, not that I will

quit then, I have to reach goal weight!

I have been sick for the entire 7 days I have been on this weight loss program,

a darn virus that is lingering with symptoms like scratchy throat, sneezing , watery eyes and just yesterday

turned into a cough.  I should count myself lucky as my two sons who caught this have had the cough the entire time.

But I still stayed on track and even fit in a few  short spurts of exercise sets a day.,..

Thanks for stopping by my blog, I hope you are doing well!

Anyone else shopping for the warm seasons ?

Since I am sick and it ‘s a rainy day,

I thought it would be a perfect day to look at

So Dear Readers, Time to
Chime in

 Any favorites among these trends?

How about the colors of the season, any favorites there?

Day 3 of 100 Day Challenge following

Weight Watchers Simply Filling

Breakfast – plain greek yogurt & strawberry smoothie

Lunch – 2 hard boiled eggs, apple and green tea

Dinner- Turkey, Feta Salad

Snack  celery and Laughing cow cheese

Today, went pretty well despite my not having done any grocery shopping or meal prep,

which of course is vitally important to long term success.

I just didn’t want to wait one more day, so making it work with

what I had on hand, since yesterday we spent all day at the bowling alley

with our son for his travel league .

This Skinny Peanut Butter Dip is an easy, healthy recipe! I also add cinnamon. Dip apples or veggies or crackers for breakfast, lunch, snack, or it's perfect for game day!:

Yogurt , Peanut butter and honey dip, yumm!

Honey and Peanut Butter are not on the Simply Filling list of foods ,

but on worries as you are allowed a small amount of points  per day of other foods.

In reading posts on a Facebook group following this method,

some people who gave up trying to find 1g sugar cereal just use that as

part of their 7 pts per day.   I used a banana with this dip for breakfast , along with

two cups of green tea with Truvia.  Note today was a very unusual day as I woke up due to DH snoring at 5:30am then went back to bed at 7:30 until 11:30 , so this would definitely hold me til lunch, but not typically.

20170214_151242

I hard boiled up a bunch of eggs, so day 2 I had those with mandarin oranges.

For the next few days, I will vary the fruit, with apples. peaches and pineapple .

20170214_144306

Lunch was a large salad with some leftover Misson BBQ turkey that my husband

had leftover from his dinner and I had enough to use the turkey for both days. I did fat free cheese on both days, day one cheddar, day two feta, pictured here.   I may bore you, but salads are going

to be my go to lunches, one meal to not think about it really helps me.

20170214_151410

Day 1 I tried Mission White Corn tortillas as they are Simply Filling approved,

however I didn’t like how strong the corn taste was, so just scraped and ate with a fork.

This is lettuce, steak strips, mushrooms & onions with sharp cheddar and fat free sour creme.

I think I used too much cheese and should have used half this amount…

Note: I intended to use lettuce wraps , but Kroger was out when i ran to get some, since I didn’t like

the strong corn flavor in the future I will use the Mission Carb balance tortillas.

20170214_181255

Day 2 dinner was more of the steak strips with mushrooms and let me tell you,

there is a alot more mushrooms on the plate than beef, cause I can’t get enough mushrooms ever!!!

I grilled zucchini and used spray butter.

I also had an orange on day one as a snack and a banana on day two.

Dear Readers, It feels great to be back in control after 3 months of this mourning and

just not caring.   I didn’t do full workouts , yet as I am sick with sore throat and sinus stuff,

but I did jump rope for a few minutes, did twist on the Simply Fit board, planked and did

mountain climbers (video below).  Doing bursts of exercise throughout the day is just as effective.

” Enough is Enough”

was my first thoughts when I saw these blog photos

I took on Saturday!

I can see the weight gain everywhere, my face, arms midsection….

There is no way this is going to be my sister’s legacy!

Menopause resulted in a gain ,so there is no room for this emotional eating ,

that has been going on since December!

20170211_150532

As a woman who promotes “Self Care” I am not beating myself up and am not even ,

upset at myself for where I am currently.

My sister’s  sudden , unexpected and unexplained death would send anyone into a whirlwind ,

and I absolutely have allowed myself that, but now it’s time to get back on track!

20170211_150554

I took my thin gold chain off my Sapphire pendant and added my sister’s more

substantial one , so when I wore the cherished gift from my husband this day,

I felt extra special.  I swear this picture just doesn’t do this lovely pendant justice!

Now On to my 100 Days Plan!

I am going to try the Weight Watcher’s Simply Filling method where you eat foods only

from this list and no measuring or counting points.

I will be starting a Simply Filing Board on Pinterest and link you to it soon.

A Sample Menu Plan I’ve made for this would be:

Breakfast :  Veggie Omelet with fat free sharp cheddar  plus strawberries

Lunch-  Hard boiled egg with Salad Greens- cucumbers, tomatoes , artichokes and fat free feta w/ Italian Dressing

Dinner :  Grilled Chicken with sauteed mushrooms, onions and spinach plus  grilled zucchini

Snacks:  Apple / Greek Yogurt

One way to make this easy to stay on track is for me to stick to Salads Everyday for Lunch , and

perhaps making a veggie soup to have for a few dinners and just add a different protein each day.

I will stay on this Simply Filling Plan for two weeks before changing to counting points, unless

I like it , everything is open to how I am feeling along the way.

Exercise Goals for the 100 days :

Monday :  Treadmill or walk outside

Tuesday: Pilates machine with resistance bands

Wednesday Treadmill or walk outside

Thursday : Yoga

Friday:  Treadmill or walk outside

Saturday:  Pilates machine with resistance bands

Sunday– stretching and rest day
