Just Getting Started….

on:Feeling Very Brave Today,
My Dear Readers!
I never imagined when I took before photos today,
that I would publish them now instead of waiting for
the weight loss and doing them together with After shots.
But what the heck , this is where I am Now
And ” It is What it Is ” is my new mantra lately!
I took these after my morning of working out,
me in all my glory, lol.
This morning I used my Simply Fit Board to twist for 15 minutes to start of my day.
After Twisting, I got to work using my
Fluidity Ballet Bar workout , which is not an easy workout at all!
I have seen great changes in my body in the past from three days a week of that
so of course going to do what works!
Menopause , I am going to Win, not you!
My least favorite picture, but hey gotta face what is!
I finished up my workout with
a beginner’s Tai Chi video of Tai Chi.
I am definitely going to do more of that!
I went for my first weight in results on Tuesday and was a bit disappointed to have
lost just 1.6 lbs , but I got over that pretty quickly.
I had spent that week walking and getting over 10,000 steps on my Fitbit daily along
with other exercises in strength training. I have made the commitment to making
my primary gauge in this journey to be the changes in my body and not the scale.
I may have to learn to adjust my previous way of doing Weight Watchers and
actually eat over my 30 daily points, going into my weekly points more.
The entire idea of eating more to lose weight is hard for me , but it seems
to be a common issue with those who are exercising daily.
Dear Readers,
I invested in this Elf Emmit to see if it could help my issues with sleep
that have gotten worse since Menopause and have to say it really has helped
me , not just with sleep , but the over active ADD nature of my brain.
I am by nature a skeptic in these type of things, but have literally been raving about this one
and how all the junk in my brain is gone when I use the Stress mode and how I get 8 hrs of
much deeper sleep!

With all the craze and addictive quality to the Lularoe brand of clothes, I had been steering clear.
Today , my son’t bowling group had a fundraiser, so of course I had to see what all the fuss was about.
I met two wonderful Lularoe Consultants : Jessica (HERE) and Kristin (HERE)
If you are looking for Lularue Products please support these wonderful women
who were so gracious as
to follow my blog the minute they heard I was a blogger.
I had seen first hand how the Carly Dress works wonders for a woman’s curves,
so decided that I had to give it a try.
This is Absolutely not your basic T-shirt dress, so don’t let it fool you.
As women we all know that the smallest part of any woman is just below the chest,
which is why an Empire waist is so figure flattering.
This dress goes in just under the chest , then flares out slightly in the most flattering way.
I saw this for the first time on a plus size girl and
was floored at what it did for her body,
and knew I had to give it a try.
Apparently I was grimacing instead of smiling in all my photos, lol
Let’s count this as my before picture to look back on as I
am beginning this weight loss journey!
I specifically picked this pattern because I knew it would go with my blue and pink wedges
that I bought last year from TJ Maxx,.
I bought this Indigo Thread vest (Vests currently selling) in both Ivory and Black last season.
This is how I would wear it for an evening event more than a daytime Spring
or Summer look. An outdoor concert and I’d rock this out!
My apologies , I was dressing “Scarlett ” (my dressform) so many times
and didn’t straighten this one up correctly..
I really like how it brings out the white details in the dress and brightens up the look.
This is a Lularoe “Joy” vest I bought with it today.
I love how it brightens it up .
This is another Indigo Thread vest I bought recently for this season.
Crotchet or Lace pieces offer a great detail to outfits
as the element of texture is represented.
While the dress has pink flowers,
I like the darker burgundy and how it goes,
but doesn’t match.
How about some pattern mixing to complete the long
Boho vests I could wear with this dress?
I found this Vest via Jane.com sometime last year.
If I was a stylist dressing clients one rule I would institute is
to add a black and white print of every category in your closet.
A dress, pants, shirt , sweater, etc .
It increases your wardrobe as it can be paired with any solid color.
Vests over tank tops are my go to for Summer , so I recently added
these baby soft “Shawl Dawls“ that work as a vest or more of a Kimono .
It just so happens the rose colored Shawl Dawl one works for the dress too.
This is worn more like the Kimono style.
I buy in multiples if I like something, but have learned to keep it to
just two of any one thing.
Jean Jackets are always a great layering piece for Spring.
With a pair of leggings or tights and ankle boots this could become a cold weather
outfit and I will definitely layer it for those months and get plenty of use out of this dress.
One World Jean Jackets are my favorite , this one found HERE .
With my love of jean jackets, A few years back I invested in 3
of these cropped versions by One world (similar ones here) .
For my petite height a cropped version if wonderful and
I highly recommend if you don’t currently own one in white,
that you add one to your style for great versatility.
A lot of Duster Sweaters are lighter weight and perfect for
Spring weather fluctuations .
This brand has a lot of Spring Duster options Here.
Of course I couldn’t just show one option for
pattern mixing. This Halston sweater is definitely
thin and has an open weaved back, making it a Spring option.
Bonus: this is how I wore it to run to BJ’s to go grocery shopping .
I did the rubber band trick to gather it and shorten it a bit when wearing with
the leggings as it created a better look for my height with the leggings.
Gratitude
I am grateful that after 3 days of asking my sister for a sign that she knows
I have her beloved cats ,Oreo and Cupcake
and can see how happy they are and how much joy they bring us,
indeed a sign showed up!
I am grateful for a weekend with my son home from college , miss that guy!
I am grateful that we were all together and celebrated my youngest’s 17th birthday early ,
giving him hoverboards that he had actually given up on ever getting and thoroughly surprising him.
Notice I said hoverboards plural as I got two so a sibling could join him in the fun.
I am grateful for a Weight Watcher buddy in my dear friend and the way
we push each other to get fitbit steps.
I am grateful for a fun family and friends day spent at Botanical Gardens and for becoming a member ,
so we can go back throughout the year.
My breakfast this morning was the banana version of this.
I used a 3 smartpoint rice cake, but there are lower versions that are just one point, which after I use the ones
I currently have I could opt to have two each morning. .
I also used PBFit Powder Peanut butter with water
as my Jif Jar version was 6pts for 2tbs and
I get 4tbs for just 3 smartpoints
Loving this for breakfast as a break from veggie egg omelets or hard boiled eggs.
I worked out doing Pilates, Twisting for 15 minutes on my Simply Fit Board and Dancing,
Then had a snack of Plain Greek Yogurt and Strawberry smoothie
for another 5 smartpoints . When adding fruits to a drink, they are no longer zero points so
this is 3 smartpoints for the plain greek yogurt and 2 for the strawberries .
Late Lunch for the day was
Zero point greens, cucumber and tomatoes.
1/4 cup feta + 3 pts
For a 1 smart point dressing, I mixed 1/4 cup of Greek Yogurt with
Hidden Valley Ranch dip mix.
Salads are my most frequent go to for Lunches
If you have been counting I am now up to 15 smartpoints
Since due to my age and weight allows me 30 points left for the day,
you can see I have eaten well and have plenty left for dinner and if I chose a small dessert.
I love Weight Watchers and feel so happy being in control of my food choices , with complete confidence
that I will start seeing this menopausal pounds and the added ones from mourning my sister melt off.
In addition to getting the food straight, which let’s face it is 80% of the solution to losing weight,
I am addicted to my sister’s Fitbit and getting in plenty of steps.
I am also using my Simply Fit board and twisting to music in my kitchen every morning,
Doing my Pilates Machine ( which has stretch bands for strength training)
and Dancing to great music. Not to mention a few walks with my
kids who are Poke’ hunting and needing to hatch eggs, lol
In fact heading out for such a walk with them right after I finish this!
Gratitude
I am grateful for music and how it soothes the soul and invigorates the body.
I am grateful to be on this journey with a very dear friend and how we message each other daily in competition of how many steps we each have on our Fitbits, such fun!
I am grateful that I found a solution for sunburn pain after stupidly walking at the beach without sunscreen, and its’s very simple : Coconut Oil and Lavender Oil !
I am grateful my son away at college is coming home tomorrow for Easter weekend and early celebration of my youngest’s birthday which is April 19th… Can’t believe he is 17!
