As with most of the U.S.A. , I am deeply affected by the images of the devastation in Texas and would like to do something to help.

I am in a unique position of having a ton of inventory for my Amelia James business and due to a Summer Cold and subsequent sinus infection,

I have been out of commission and need to move this inventory.  In addition to that my sister’s 17yr  old kitty was needing special medical care this last month and has sadly passed on no doubt with my sister.

I could try to sell the inventory to  the other reps in my company and just make back my cost, but

I would prefer to use it as a fundraiser and send the profits to aid those in Texas.  I have done some research and would like to donate to Habitat for Humanity

specifically to help rebuild the hurricane devastation.   As I sit here typing this, my hometown  is waiting to see what the next storm Irma is going to do

and have looked into our own evacuation plans should need be.   This reality makes the Harvey situation even more personal.

I am sporting a staple in the Amelia James clothing line, a Memphis Ruffle.

This one is a tank top, but the top comes in short sleeves and even long sleeves

with both prints and solids.  Not much in my stock of these now but solid long sleeve ones

coming soon.

A side view to show the slight high low hem.

Tomorrow night ,Tuesday September 5th at 8:00 pm  I am going to do a Live Video Sale on my

Amelia James by K&T Stylists Facebook Page

to benefit Texas. I would love it if my dear readers could join me!

In addition I have an Album Posted on the Facebook Page under photos where you can claim

something and I will send Paypal Invoice via email and there is also a video of dresses posted there that if you

use the item # and claim” Sold” or mine I can again invoice you.

Dear Readers, I am back in exercise mode and doing Weight Watchers too.

I am on Day of 8 of this and have been alternating between my Pilates machine with resistance bands

and Yoga every other day.   I am adding in walking starting tonight.   If that isn’t enough, I am trying

intermittent fasting where you fast for 16 hours by fitting all meals into an 8 hour window.

The time between 12-16 hours is suppose to be the time when your body kicks into fat burning mode.

So far, it’s been fairly easy and I will keep you posted on results.

I use the term Spring lightly when describing this

balmy 88 degree Saturday in April.

My linen blend pants are a recent purchase from Old Navy (Here)

A pair of wide legged linen pants are a must for Spring/Summer in my book.

I think this chambray pair can be very versatile and paired with many colors.

My vest is called Shawl Dawls and is super soft and can be worn in a few

different ways. In fact later that day I took of my sister’s glass star necklace

and just tied the vest at my waist.

In the morning I was in a cold bowling alley and pulled it into a kimono with sleeves to warm

my upper arms and must say it worked beautifully.

Our temps may have been unseasonably hot,

but as exhibited here we were blessed with a nice breeze.

Clothing really can have an impact on my moods as I felt

very Zen and at ease in the soothing shade of blue and the flowy element

of both the pants and vest.

My Boho self was loving it!

Dear Readers, It felt great to get dressed in a “Real Outfit”

as these past weeks I have been in Workout mode,

twisting, jumping rope, doing Pilates, Yoga stretches,

my Fluidity Ballet Bar and even trying Tai Chi.

I also got a membership to our local Botanical Gardens

and have gone walking there as well as the beach with

my friend and partner in this weight loss venture.

I have lost  a total 2.6 lbs my first two weeks on Weight Watchers

I recently saw a few t-shirts with positive sayings that match messages

I value and want to put out in the world

on Jane.com and am delighted that they began arriving yesterday.

Be on the LOOK OUT for another saying or two coming soon….

_20160610_164749

When I was in my 3o’s I dreamed of creating shirts like this,

so it’s only natural that now at 50 ,

that I am embracing them !

_20160610_164410

This sayng holds a very special place in my heart because I think

it’s been a message I was forced to come to terms with on my own

when at the tender age of 13 my father passed away.

Upon mourning the great loss throughout my teens I really looked at the

relationships my peers had with their fathers and saw immediatley the blessing.

It was in early adulthood that I began saying,

” I had more in my 13 years with him that many people will ever have”

My father was one special man and I know it’s because he too lost his father when he was young and he was the youngest

child with three older sisters and the youngest one was 17 when he was born.

He use to say that he was raised by 4 mothers.

It truly made for a very compassionate man whose legacy of love is dear to my heart and has given me such strength to stand strong at times when I’ve wanted to crumble….

_20160610_164254

There truly was Joy in the journey of even something so wretched in losing my father.

I was very much a Daddy’s Girl and didn’t have much use for my mother, his death opened up

a most fabulous relationship with my mother that I doubt would have been found had he lived.

I also saw my mother grow in ways that too wouldn’t have been needed had she had him to lean on.

My Attitude of Gratitude comes from knowing that if you look deep enough there is joy in every part of this journey of life.

Gratitude

I am grateful for the support and love among my homeschooling bowling Moms.

I am grateful for getting up before my alarm and fitting in a Pilates workout before taking my son bowling.

I am grateful for the fun anticipation of spending tomorrow at Harborfest with a friend and to my husband for giving me the VIP passes from his customer to use for myself and my friend.

I am grateful for the fun and laughter that I share on a daily basis with my 20 year old son home from college, he really has the best sense of humor!

Wishing My Dear Readers A weekend filled with Sun, Fun . Laughter and Love!

Today, I thought I would put together a look

featuring new green pieces I added for the Season.

_20160601_191631

Unfortunately, this is the only picture I liked from the set.

This blogging when I am very unhappy with my weight is going to be tough!

It is what it is and I am soldiering on as I use the

17 Day Diet, Pilates, Yoga and and walking to

melt that weight away .

Wedges and Kimono are from Jane.com and my purse is thrifted.

My cropped pants are Petites from Liz Claiborne NY via QVC

Gratitude

I am grateful for a reprieve from the rain.

I am grateful for an afternoon of bowling with my two youngest. .

I am grateful that my oldest took me up on my invitation to come for dinner and was there when we came home from our bowling and grocery shopping.

I am grateful that my three boys spent the evening playing card games, which my oldest brought with him. ( this is something my oldest has done a few times and is a fabulous way for sibling brothers ages, 16,20 and 29 to connect)

I am grateful for my Facebook friend who is such an inspiration in her 60’s doing Beach Body workouts for posting a shout out that she’d done her workout with no excuses and challenging others to do the same.

I am grateful that on the beginning of day 4 , (today, Weds) I stepped on the scale and saw a 3 pound weight loss!

Wednesday Is All About Bowling…

It begins with homeschool league and ends with traveling to another city for

a late afternoon bowling Clinic.

DSC_3090-2

I originally planned to wear my black and white poncho with the burgundy leggings.

It was shorter than I liked with the leggings….

My teal one was laying on the chair in my room as I’d worn it but hadn’t photographed it recently.

It’s not colors I automatically would have paired together, but I was in the mood for a poncho

and quite frankly I didn’t feel like changing out of the leggings.

So, a new color combo was born!

DSC_3098-2

I already had the black boots on so thought I’d add the necklace to book end

them and make them work.

Then it occurred to me that I was wearing double fringe.

Just for kicks I grabbed my hobo bag as it has a big fringe tassle.

It doesn’t photograph well here, but trust me it tickled me to have triple fringe

without it being overkill and look ridiculous.

Self Care

Yesterday, when wearing this outfit, I went out to lunch between the bowling events of the day

and I had Jason’s Deli Salad Bar, Chcken Breast and A Fruit Salad bowl.   I was to tired to go home and cook at 6:30 when

we got home ,so I opted for Special K Protein with bananas.

In addition, I exercised on my Pilates Machine and am commited to do so 6 days a week for the next 30 days.

Gratitude

I am grateful that I am not the only one enjoying my new Pilates machine, as my teen son thinks it’s too heavy for me to set up, so has decided he is in charge of unfolding it for me (shh don’t tell him it’s not that heavy especially with the wheels)  and he exercises on it first after setting it up for me…

I am grateful to my son for setting up my Fitbit(replacement one I bought on Ebay after my dropping the original down the sink)  and he even put an app on my phone for me.

I am grateful for my meat tenderizing hammer ( I  hadn’t had one for a while and got one recently) as it is so fun to pound out chicken breasts for marinating.   Yes, little things make me happy.

I am grateful that my son had more success yesterday and upped his high score by two more points, can’t wait to see how he does on his Saturday league when he is with the more serious and talented bowlers.

I am grateful for my friendships and how we support each other, love the givers of the world!

Yes, I really was teasing my teen photographer by

Singing in the Rain

as we did our Photo shoot on this grey Monday

DSC_2116

We not might like raining Mondays,

but the squirrels have been happily digging in the yard

and scurried up the tree as I came to pose here.

DSC_2124

I love this scarf with the navy and seafoam green coloring.

I can’t wait for winter to pair it with my new seafoam leather jacket.

I also like adding the tasel necklaces to infinity scarves as it

definitely has a slimiing effect with the addition of the vertical lines .

IMG_20151031_191117

Just for fun , here is my Hallowwen Costume

IMG_20151031_193519

And My “DEEP SEA SCOUNDREL”

IMG_20151102_101339

And my Daughter who is at Boston College and Spent the day

in Salem getting stopped numerous times to have her picture taken.

DSC_2127

I am loving this Susan Graver Cardigan I bought in both this Navy color

and in Chocolate Brown.

With the poly/spandex material, it really is working well for

my menopausal hot flashes..

In fact I originally styled this look of the day with a sheerling black vest,

but was too warm and had to forgo it.

Dear Readers, I must share with you that I made the commitment last week to run on the treadmill at least three days a week in a push to lose this darn menopausal weight gain before my anniversary in January. I succeeded and even did my last on on Sunday when my sinuses were acting up.  I hate caridio, but really need to get that into my routine and am loving that I am pushing myself and proud too.

Grateful

I am grateful for a fun weekend with our bowling friends!

I am grateful for our lazy Sunday, watching football.

I am grateful for my son setting his own homeschooling schedule today, opposite of our plan and still taking responsibility to get it all done.

I am grateful that my husnband is doing well and happy with his new job and away from toxic chaos.

I ‘ve come to really realize how much I love Navy and

blue colors in my wardrobe.

Linking up today with APocketful of Polka dots and Penniless Socialite, so

many wonderful bloggers for you to explore.

DSC_2086

Warning, not my best pictures…

It was quite a windy day…Sometimes that makes for the best photos…

Not the case for today, lol!

My necklace is new, bought from one of GYPO style challengers

who was selling off some pieces for a mission trip.

DSC_2098-2

I had my sleeves pushed up a bit most of the day, to showcase my bracelets.

The blue one is my princess one bought from a Castle in Ireland.

DSC_2093

My Sweater is light weight and wanted to blow, I am holding in place, lol

I adore printed pants and their versatility.

These are a pair of Diane Gilman Jeans that I’ve had awhile.

It seems she only does printed versions for Spring/Summer.

I also like Old Navy pixie pants that offer a few patterned options.

DSC_2094

I found a tan and creme striped cardigan at Goodwill and loved it so much last season,

that I just had to add more striped versions before I began my no shopping ban.

I , of course found this Liz Lange on clearance and it was part of her Spring line.

I loved the pattern mixing in this look and the pop of yellow from the purse.

I love the comfort of my payless pumps , but have told DH I would like to replace these round toed for a pointed toe version.  I even took him in the store and showed them to him, requesting them for Christmas, fingers crossed.

Dear Readers, I loved the feeling today after my treadmill exercising yesterday.  I cleaned up a lot today, so am ready to do another workout tomorrow.  And go figure I am looking forward to it!   I love the feeling of strength training and have spurts of loving cardio , so hoping that instead of a spurt that I can indeed make this a lifetime change.   I did do some strength training today!

Gratitude

I am grateful for the moment when I found a blush called Sexy Booster by Physicians Formula, that a friend had given me awhile ago.  I opened it and smelled the “Pheromone Blend & Seductive Scent”  and instantly handed it to my husband and asked what that smelled like to him… He answered “Vegas”  Exactly like the smell at the Hard Rock Hotel we stayed at, lol!

I am grateful that my husband had a sale today and still made it home in time to watch his much anticipated Patriots- Miami Game  and for the fun of listening to his cheering his team on as I type this.

I am grateful for my husband’s compliment of today’s look and was surprised at how much he liked the pants, I knew of course he’d like the heels, lol

I am grateful for my husband’s work schedule and how much he’s been around this past week and all the time for extra hugs.

I love my Old Navy Polk a Dot Pixie Pants.

They are  the perfect way to add pattern into an outfit,

and since it’s black and white ,versatile with any solid colored top.

Of course there are also possibilities for pattern mising tops as well.

Just for fun, trying saying my blog title of the day , three times fast, lol!

DSC_1689

You can find this pant in the ankle length, Here.

My top and purse ( sold out) are both by Iman via HSN.

The top comes in 7 colors and is actually much longer ,

but it drapes nicely and is perfect for faux tucking the way I’ve done here.

I actuaally bouth it in Marsala ( Pantone’s color of the season) and Gun Metal Grey.

IMAN Global Chic Runway Glam Luxury Draped Top

IMAN Global Chic Runway Glam Luxury Draped Top

Notice the styling of the Marsala one tucked into a pencil skirt,

while the Grey one shoes the ful length over jeans.

DSC_1693

My happiness factore was high with this look once I finished it off with my

Cato vest and the tassel necklace with purple beads also from Cato ,

which my daughter gave me for my birthday.

The vest has been on clearance for awhile as I  bought it in July and is still available for $10.99.

I must say that it runs small as I bought the medium ,  but wear it open as it’s too tight for my  size 8 hips.

DSC_1713

I look forward to styling these pieces so much more as we move into

Fall temperatures which seem to elude us despite the leaves beginning to fall .

Dear Readers, I am getting myself into full Cardio gear, moitviated by a comptetition between myself and my homeschooling son, age 15.  I decided that he goes on the treadmill first and whatevver he does, I have to do the same.We are going to do this three days a week, which will benefit us both.

I love strength training, but not cardio ,so hope this keeps me accountable and moving more.

My 5oth birthday passed without my losing the 15 pounds I’ve gained, so now I am setting a new goal.

My 25th anniversary is January 15h and I would like to go on a cruise, so need to lose this before I get into a bathing suit!

I had better succeed at this one or I will ruin my 25th celebration!

Wish me luck!

Gratitude

I am grateful for the support of my youngest in getting to my new goal.

I am grateful for the past week with my son home on his college Fall break.

I am grateful that he took our rabbit with him for a week , but will come home for a bried time next weekend to return her.

I am grateful that I scheduled a Parent’s Night Out for homeschooling parents and it’s Tuesday, so I have something to look forward to all day.

I am grateful that my husband had a nice break this afternoon, which allowed him to revive afternnoon movie with a coworker, something they use to do somewhat regularly, but had gotten away from.  (this way the wives don’t have to go to horror movies we dislike and they are not feeling deprived)

I am grateful that my oldest came over on Sunday to visit with his brother before he went back to college and for the conversation we all hadt together.

I am grateful for another win for my Steelers team and that Roethlisberger’s knee injury was not his ACL, which would have put him out the remaninder of the season.

Today was a dreadfully hot day where it actually felt like a Sauna!

The photos today, tell the story of how my hair went from looking Great, to flat…

DSC_0783

The first photo of the bunch under the protection of my favorite tree…

I’ve had this outfit put together and waiting for a day to wear.

I usually have about 3 to 5 combos like that for those days when I am uninspired to create a look.

These are all pieces I’ve had for years, except for the yellow purse bought this season.

DSC_0784

When I moved to this spot, the wind kept catching my hair and getting in my face…

I literally gave up posing in this stance…

DSC_0793

And now my hair looks much flatter, lol!

I really love these colors of the yellow and purple together.

This yellow kimono, I’ve had for years is a favorite.

I actually had this set next to a green skirt in the closet and instantly thought of how

I could style those together.  I really need to create a feature of using one piece three ways.

Gratitude

I am grateful that I found the drive to do some sitting down hand weight exercises as well as bicep dips and push ups on the couch by using only one leg and not hurting my knee… Not exercising was frustrating!

I am grateful that I slept in until 10:15 this morning!

I am grateful to my youngest for stepping up and turning on the dishwasher for me, as well as getting as well as cleaning up and doing things to help me rest my knee.

I am grateful for a phone call from my daughter after her exam, where she sounded very happy.  She even was grateful that she was out of class early and had time to cook a proper dinner before starting her 10 page paper, which she optimistically thinks she will have done by midnight and still get a good night’s rest.  This is special as she likes to complain and just be heard, so hearing her see the positive was delightful to this Mom!

When you get your news from Facebook and see that your team’s football coach

has signed a new contract,

A fashion blogger has no choice but to respond by styling a Team Spirit Outfit!

DSC_0723

It’s not easy to put together a body skimming look right now, but for the sake of my team, I did just that!

True confessions I looked in the mirror and thought not too bad…

I know better than to trust my mirror, so I asked my son to take a quick photo inside while my hair was still wet.

That test passed as I didn’t hate how my body looked with this menopausal gain…

I may not love it , but it’s progress not to detest it!

DSC_0717

The number 33 is significant because it’s the year the Steelers were established.

It was fun to wear a sporty outfit off season.

DSC_0725

I of course had to do a nod to the black and gold of my team by choosing a yellow watch and handbag.

Being matchy is what Team Spirit is all about!

Dear Readers, Day one of no diet soda went very well.  I had a coffee/ banana smoothie this morning and water the remainder of the day, so no other caffeine.  It’s 11:00pm as I  type this and I am feeling tired, which I usually don’t expereince.  Let’s hope I sleep well. Last night I went to bed at 1am and was up by 6:30am and not happy about it.

Gratitude

I am grateful for a fun outfit inspiration for the day, some days a stylist needs help!

I am grateful that my college son was able to hang out with his high school friend today.

I am grateful that we are having a complete break from bowling this week, though Saturday night we have a league family night.

I am grateful for my bank for catching suspicious activity on my son’s debit card.

I am grateful for a phone call from my daughter tonight and that her presentation today went well.

I am grateful that my husband had a late start to his day and caught up on sleep as well as helped me to put up our new bedroom curtains.
