Intermittent Fasting

I love capris with a loose top in hot weather.
This top is actually looser than it appears, the wind was nice for the heat of 92 degrees, but of course with light weight fabric changed it’s appearance.
In cleaning out my closet, I happened upon these capris ,
which did not fit me last Summer, but I tried them on and alas with
my recent weight loss, they did and were not even tight, lol
I love using a handbag or shoes to pop another color into an outfit,
hence the choice for my yellow one.
I thought I would share my weight loss journey with Intermittent Fasting today!
The most important thing to note about fasting is that it is not about deprivation, you must get in your calories during the eating window.
I chose the 16: 8 version where you fast for 16 and eat for 8, I also extend it , by mixing it up daily sometimes fasting for 16-19 hours and adjusting the eating window to what equals 24 hours. My general fasting hours start at 6pm and eating at 10am.
Lately I have changed it to 5pm and eating at 11am for 18 hours of fasting.
Another important thing to note is that I drink more water than every before, 32 -48 ounces in the morning before eating and another 32-48 after dinner until a hour or so before bedtime.
This is a typical breakfast, notice the word break fast….
A yogurt/strawberry smoothie is great as some people have constipation with fasting.
The Kiyani Sunrise is a supplement of super-foods for added nutritional benefits.
I alternate with a smoothie with these ingredients blended with a frozen banana.
I typically eat only two meals a day, but some days I add
in apple, because I figure the added fiber is good and that whole
an apple a day comes to mind.
This is one dinner I had last week of chicken with mushrooms, onions,
artichoke hearts , diced can tomatoes, cooked with Italian Seasoning
and topped with Feta.
I had this last night and was worried it wouldn’t be enough to hold me for 16 hours
but I lasted for 17 ,lol. It will actually last me 3 nights as my family doesn’t like
eggplant. It brings back memories of my father who loved it and made it a lot.
IF is by far the easiest method I have found and has the added benefit of curbing all my cravings in addition to a clarity of mind and increased energy.
Losing 11 pounds in 5 weeks, along with a few inches of loss has been encouraging as well, but truth be told the other benefits make this a method I will make it to a lifestyle!
If you want more information on Intermittent Fasting, I suggest starting with
This Video from Dr. Fung and he has many others too.
There is also a Facebook Group called : Intermittent Fasting for Women

One of the biggest trends for the season is fun sleeve details.
A boho lover like myself is tickled about the bell sleeves and imagine my delight
when my new venture as an Independent Rep for Amelia James came out
with a cute bell sleeve top. I actually got to see the first one in person on my trip to
San Diego in October for our first Rep Retreat.
My first attempt at taking photos with daylights savings time in place, lol
We are experiencing beautiful 60 degree days after lows in the 30’s at night.
Even in the shade you can see the fun bell sleeve on the Memlo top by Amelia James.
I love the colored leaves, goes nicely with my hair…
I am also debuting my newest open wrap, this one is by Harve Bernard
I like the hi-low color contrast of the Menlo top with the navy in the wrap and the jeans.
Doing that contrasting of one color is such an easy formula for putting outfits together and one I use often.
You can’t wear a bell sleeve top( I am wearing a medium) and resist the urge to spread your arms out,
my photographer had to deal with my putting my awesome snakeskin purse down,
to pretend to fly, but alas the photos were not great….
Notice how my snakeskin purse brings out the shades of tan in the wrap,
and I intended to wear tan ankle boots with the look originally, which would have bookended it all.
Instead, I opted for my Naturalizer navy wedges, as soon enough,
winter will arrive and my boots will be my only option, lol
I adore the comfort of wedges and will opt for more of these classics in the future.
These striped versions of the Menlo top are currently available, they retail for $50 ,
but for are currently on sale for $38 and available in Medium6/8 (2) and Large10/12.
I do not have a website yet ,as my company is so new that they are getting one together in the new year,
and I did not want to do the work of one and have to re-do it. So, if you want one just email me @KTstylists@gmail.com
just let me know Menlo – Striped, and Size and I will send a Paypal Invoice and ship immediately.
The Blue option I have in Sizes Small2-4, Medium6/8, Large 10/12 and X-Large14/16.
Again, Reduced to $38 -email me Size & Blue Menlo @KTStylists@gmail.com
Gratitude
I am grateful to be back to blogging and the fun feeling I had today putting together this outfit and taking photos.
I am grateful that I took the time to mourn the loss of my sister, not that I am done, but I am ready to start living fully again.
I am grateful that my daughter is helping get my homeschooling son ready to take his first CLEP test for Biology.
I am grateful for some warm days, tomorrow will be 70!
Thanks for Stopping By!

If you are a regular follower of my blog you know my feminine nature and adoration of
dresses for every day wear, not that special occasion dresses aren’t fun too!
Therefore it should come as no surprise that in my Amelia James business venture,
that I would stock dresses. This one is our Chelan dress and a top seller at $54.
I prefer it belted to bring it just above my knee and create a fun swing skirt.
I loved styling the floral with a fun striped bag. I have this dress in a few colors
in sizes small to 3x and will be doing a live Facebook sale tonight at 7:30 pm on all dresses for $10 off.
You can find my page HERE and watch it Live or in Replay through the weekend.
Going Live is a bit nerve wracking and I am so nervous leading up to it,
but once I get started, I am usually fine.
I am so blessed to have the support of my children and two of my sons will be
behind the scenes keeping me straight.
Gratitude
I am so grateful for the loving and full support of my family.
I am grateful my husband just called me to wish me luck going live on my own with no business partner.
I am grateful for a fabulous sunny day!
I am grateful for this new business venture to distract me from this darn mourning my sister process.
I am grateful that my husband is also starting a business venture and got word today , that it is a GO!
Honoring my Scottish Heritage

My Mother’s maiden name was Campbell and she was so
proud of her Scottish Heritage, in fact my youngest
brother carries the name Scott to honor her pride.
It was so fitting when she got strong enough after her heart attack to
take her life long dream trip to Scotland that my brother accompanied her.
Linking up with Classy Yet Trendy today
My mother instilled the Campbell plaid love to me when I was young.
I loved the kilt skirt complete with the gold pin I had as a child in this plaid.
It meant a lot for me as a child knowing it was a part of my heritage.
Can you believe I found this poncho when I was at AC Moore looking at craft stuff with my daughter.
It was just $14.99, so even though I didn’t need another poncho I couldn’t help myself.
Once again I am wearing the Halston lariat necklace (sold out) , it’s truly becoming a workhorse .
The green necklace is by Passage to Israel , found HERE .
I need to do a better job of getting my hair away from ears.
I bought these from TJ maxx last year in both green and purple and have worn both a lot!
This was the beginning of me improving my earring collection,
something I neglected as I wore gold and silver hoops only for the longest time.
My jeans are by Diane Gilman and are patched with silver sequins ,
are alas sold out,
It took me a long time to warm up to this type of “damaged” jeans ,
but this season the patched version came onto the scene making it more
comfortable for my style.
In this photo you can see the black and white plaid,
which I can reverse this to and it will have a tiny bit of this blackwatch plaid
just around the neckline. I will be giving it a try at some point.
I love these blue boots I bought two years ago when in Ireland,
they are perfect for adding to skinny jeans like this.
Dear Readers, this darn weather gave me a sever migraine on Monday,
leaving me with residual light sensitivity and nausea all day.
Apparently this was not just happening to me as a few Facebook friends had the same.
Gratitude
I am grateful that despite the residual side effects that I was pain free and the migraine was gone.
I am grateful that getting a new charger fixed my son’s laptop issue.
I am grateful that my daughter and son did a grocery store run for me today, as I wasn’t up for it.
I am grateful that I had the determination to fix spaghetti squash with bacon, Parmesan and mushrooms for dinner.
I am grateful for Fall weather arriving and the chance to start wearing some new items .
Sail Away with Me….

I was singing Styx to myslef all day,
I just couldn’t help myself…
I just chased my kids all out of the den by playing this loudly, lol
I just knew I had to add this shirt to my wardrobe when I saw it on the TJ Maxx website.
There really is something about living in a beach and Navy town that make my heart soar and has created a love of nautical fashion items. I can’t remember a time in my life when I didn’t like nautical outfits. I know that my mother loved it as well as she felt strongly about it as a Navy wife. There was always something so special about the news stories on tv growing up with families going to meet the Navy ships coming in and the kids all dressed in sailor inspired outfits. I loved it so much that I found cute nautical outfits for my children when they were babies.
You can’t see very well, but I added these anchor print pants for the season and you can be darn sure,
that I am going to go very kitchy and pair them with my “Sail Away” top.
I found this cute zippered hoodie vest on TJ Maxx, but alas it sold out.
I just got it in the mail yesterday and was so hoping to post photos quickly enough , but
that’s what happens with limited quantities of stores like TJ Maxx.
And if that wasn’t bad enough, my Just Fab nautical purse is sold out as well.
Wishing all my Dear Readers a Wonderful Weekend
to Recharge and Fill your Soul!
Gratitude
I am grateful for Sunshine and warm days that aren’t too humid, cause trust me they are around the corner!
I am grateful for a fun afternoon taking my son bowling and hanging out with homeschooling mother’s .
I am grateful for a fun grocery shopping with my two sons on our way home, it’s nice to have the company of both boys together instead of it just being me and my youngest.
I am grateful for the sense of humor in our family and the giggles and laughter that fill our home and the car as we traveled around today…
I am grateful that I have reached a stage on the 17 day diet where I feel better and that it will be easy to maintain now that the cravings for carbs and sugar are gone!
I’m Back!

I can’t believe I am finally feeling better!
I’ve had about 6 weeks of dealing with lower back pain and once I got that resolved,
terrible abdominal adhesion pains that had been in the background came screaming forward.
I have never had anything but minor pangs with my 29 year old c-section scar.
Afer applying heat, doing self massage and lots of yoga stretching, I am now 3 days pain free!
I found this navy striped skort at BJ’s by Jones New York and the
kimono is from TJ Maxx.
I love Navy and White together for Spring/Summer
and will probably do several combos in the future.
My adhesion pain came the day before we were to leave for Boston for my daughter’s graduation.
I did not make the trip, but thanks to Skype I was there!
I also had the fun of getting instant photos as my husband shot them and was able to give my input
to retake a shot to fix things, it was like I was there…
Everyone agreed that the amount of walking on that trip would have never worked for me.
We are all still glowing with pride as a family and she herself can’t believe she achieved her Master’s Degree while 24 ( she will be 25 in July)
I gained weight during this time of little activity and ate lots of carbs as well…
I began the 17 day diet 3 days ago, where Phase I is low sugar fruits, vegggies, protein and probiotics.
I have to say day 3 is today and I was quite irritable, I caved and had a piece of chocolate…
Confession: I now have 23lbs to lose, aaaagh!
Grattitude
I am grateful that I am finally pain free and able to get back to my Pilates workouts.
I am grateful that this weight gain really pushed me to completely focus on better self care.
I am grateful that my son has a state bowling tournament in a little over two weeks (Father’s Day Weekend), so I get a fun mini vacation.
I am grateful for all the help with housework from my family when I was down and out!
Loving Long Vest Trend

As my Regular Readers are Well Aware,
This curvy woman loves completer pieces and
vests for Spring/ Summer are perfect because they are sleeveless and don’t add extra warmth.
Linking up Today with Two Teens and Their Mama
When I saw this one on TJ Maxx online (Sold Out) , I just had to have it.
I can also wear it open, with the tie in the back and will do so in the future.
These shoes are fast becoming a favorite, so much so that I tried to order the second color offered,
but when it came in the mail, I was sadly disappointed that it looks more like lavender than pink.
Will see about styling them before deciding if I will return them.
I really like how the vest breaks up the two different patterns.
The sweater is Ann Taylor, one of my favorite lines, which I never buy unless on clearance.
With the super clearance it cost me just $11.95 and I’ll get a chance to wear it a time or two for Spring
before I put it away for Fall and look forward to for the full season.
Here is another long vest, I have my eye on!
Dear Readers, so far on day two of my banana and hot beverage
for breakfast and protein high lunch and dinners,
I am doing very well. I love that after just two days I am no longer craving sugar
and look forward to a full
two weeks of this before adding in vegetables and healthy carbs.
Here is ten health benefits of bananas
Gratitude
I am grateful to my son who wasn’t feeling good, but graciously got up to take my blog photos today.
I am grateful for the fun surprise of walking outside to take photos to see my husband pulling in the driveway, mind you it was not even 4:30 and he was home, as a salesman he is usually out until 10 pm or later.
I am grateful that we used the time with him home to head to BJ’s to stock up on lots of protein options for me for this new journey to jumpstart weight loss.
I am grateful for a fun texting conversation with a dear friend.
I am grateful that my son said he isn’t up to our planned picnic and venture to Mt. Trashmore between our two bowling events tomorrow, as the high pollen is really messing me up and I am quite tired.
White Before Memorial Day…

I’ve been out for a few days with a painful stye,
nursing the swollen mess with hot cloths .
Four days and that’s now gone, but yesterday the huge
swings in our temperatures from the storm messed up my
sinuses leaving me with a sore throat and low-grade fever.
Not much getting dressed going on these past few days…
I wore this outfit last Friday night when I went out with
a friend to dinner and a play.
I joked with my teen son about wearing white shoes before memorial day,
when I explained that use to be a hard and fast rule for my mother and grandmother’s
generation, he laughed and said it sounded ridiculous.
I wore my new necklace, I bought recently from Jane.com
My white shoes I bought new for this season from Amazon
You can find them HERE
Gratitude
I am grateful that despite my not feeling very well, that I have managed to continue my pilates exercizes every other day, and in fact it helped me get rid of the kink in my shoulder.
I am grateful that after one very painful day , that the remaining two days of the stye were better.
I am grateful that I felt well enough despite my sore throat and sinus issues today to get my winter items packed away and out of site, although I still have to put all my boots away.
I am grateful that my bank gave back the money from the stupid website that hijacked onto my reservations for my daughter’s graduation.

I love Navy and White for Spring and Summer
So , it makes perfect sense for me to add a blue and white
kimono for the season.
Linking up with Turning Heads and I Will Wear What I Like- I Will Wear What I Like-
so go see other fabulous bloggers
My kimono is from TJ Maxx , but is now sold out.
They do still have a fun tropical print one.…
My shoes are new as well from TJ Maxx and almost sold out
Here are some other great shoes at TJ Maxx, right now.
I love a good wedge sandal and really love the height and comfort of this one.
I think I will get a lot of use out of this one.
My photographer, DS 16 wasn’t impressed with my mint tote choice,
but I liked it with the mint necklace.
It’s funny when he gives me his input and doesn’t just go
through the motions of taking my photos.
I took off the kimono and added my patterned trench
for my walk to the store with my rolling cart.
I found this trench several years ago at Sears and my DH
actually went to another location in a nearby city to pick it up in my size.
Gratitude
I am grateful that when I ended up back in bed for a nap, that my son was responsible in doing his homeschooling.
I am grateful for the fun my son and I are having with sign language.
I am grateful for a call from my daughter, it seemed like such a short Spring Break…
I am grateful for the arrival of Spring , and seeing the wild rabbits in the evenings.
I am grateful for my strong faith and the legacy of my parents as today is the anniversary of the day my mother passed on seven years ago.

Today I was suppose to be styling a Vest for
the private challenge….
I tried with this look, but didn’t like it , so took it off and went for a poncho,
they never disappoint this boho loving woman!
I tried this with my sherpa vest and fringe congnac booties, but
didn’t like it, probably because the vest goes out right at the widest part of my
hip and was not at all flattering….
Check out this blog about wearing Navy and Brown, that came to mind when my
first outfit choice wasn’t working and I was standing there in all Navy!
I don’t know what it is about a poncho that just makes my heart sing,
but I could wear one almost daily, but then I’d miss my leather jackets and cardigans,
so alas I change it up and wear them just often enough!
I should have taken a close up of my Charming Charlie
fun Paisley necklace that unfortunately is sold out.
I am upset that somewhere along the way I lost one of my orange hoops that DD gave me ,
fingers crossed I lost it in the house and not on my trip to the grocery store.
Self Care
Today was a rough day with intense sinus pressure headache the entire day…I am proud to say
that when I made a quick run to the store I resisted my normal “go to” of grabbing a Pepsi Max
and getting back into my caffeine addiction.
Gratitude
I am grateful for a fun conversation with Facebook friends about Ikea , as I’ve never been and a potential road trip in the near future with possibly 4 of us going.
I am grateful that my son understood my headache and did his homeschooling and chores without me having to tell him repeatedly, lol… I am grateful that he is a sensitive compassionate young man.
I am grateful that even not feeling well, that I got dressed and went for a short walk to the store.
I am grateful that my husband agreed that I should get another Sunlight Lamp as I have been in a funk (I am blaming it on menapause, lol) for two days and my old lamp is broken.
