Spring Fever Shopping!
Posted March 30, 2018
on:Dear Readers, I am so ready to get back to blogging regularly at least in spirit…
Once I get my taxes done and get all my products loaded up on Shopify,
a real learning curve with Youtube to guide me, lol
In the meantime, I thought I would pop in and show you my purchases for Spring that arrived today!
Sheryl Crowe has a line on HSN and she has taken things she loves from her closet
and remade them with a twist all her own.
is pricey, but a real show stopper piece that will spice up any outfit and comes in two colors.
You can watch the presentation video to get a better look at this piece and here Cheryl Crowe explain it.
If one Cheryl Crowe Vest is great, how about two!
I am absolutely dancing over the fringe one above!
This Suede one comes in two colors as well.
My boho self adored this sheer top for just $19.95
I sized down to the XS/S on this one and I was right about that!
These Diane Gilman with the stripe caught my eye too!
I think they will be perfect with the Kimono style top, so look out for me to be
wearing those together soon.
With Pink being such a big color for Spring,
Who Could Possibly Pass up these
DG2 Bootcuts for just $14.,95!
And the last purchase is another by Cheryl Crowe,
These also come in tan.
Dear Readers,
One thing I decided recently was that I have a good wardrobe, so pieces I add
must really speak to me and be a bit more special!
I think I hit that goal with these purchases and am set for Spring and Summer!
I look forward to coming back to the blogging world after this long break of mourning and finding my way in the
world without a sister and just two brothers left in my childhood family.… So strange to be the only girl!
I also look forward to getting back to writing out
my daily gratitudes and will start right now!
I am grateful for friends that help me get through this past 16 months!
I am grateful to be feeling like myself and over the 3 weeks, I was sick with the Flu and Vertigo!
I am grateful that I am facing getting my tax stuff complete as the dread is always worse than just doing it!
I am grateful to be back on Weight Watchers and for their new Freestyle Program which is truly the easiest one yet!
I am grateful for three days of Spring-like Temperatures in a row!
I am grateful to have blogging to turn to and regenerate my creative outlet for putting together outfits!

One of the biggest trends for the season is fun sleeve details.
A boho lover like myself is tickled about the bell sleeves and imagine my delight
when my new venture as an Independent Rep for Amelia James came out
with a cute bell sleeve top. I actually got to see the first one in person on my trip to
San Diego in October for our first Rep Retreat.
My first attempt at taking photos with daylights savings time in place, lol
We are experiencing beautiful 60 degree days after lows in the 30’s at night.
Even in the shade you can see the fun bell sleeve on the Memlo top by Amelia James.
I love the colored leaves, goes nicely with my hair…
I am also debuting my newest open wrap, this one is by Harve Bernard
I like the hi-low color contrast of the Menlo top with the navy in the wrap and the jeans.
Doing that contrasting of one color is such an easy formula for putting outfits together and one I use often.
You can’t wear a bell sleeve top( I am wearing a medium) and resist the urge to spread your arms out,
my photographer had to deal with my putting my awesome snakeskin purse down,
to pretend to fly, but alas the photos were not great….
Notice how my snakeskin purse brings out the shades of tan in the wrap,
and I intended to wear tan ankle boots with the look originally, which would have bookended it all.
Instead, I opted for my Naturalizer navy wedges, as soon enough,
winter will arrive and my boots will be my only option, lol
I adore the comfort of wedges and will opt for more of these classics in the future.
These striped versions of the Menlo top are currently available, they retail for $50 ,
but for are currently on sale for $38 and available in Medium6/8 (2) and Large10/12.
I do not have a website yet ,as my company is so new that they are getting one together in the new year,
and I did not want to do the work of one and have to re-do it. So, if you want one just email me @KTstylists@gmail.com
just let me know Menlo – Striped, and Size and I will send a Paypal Invoice and ship immediately.
The Blue option I have in Sizes Small2-4, Medium6/8, Large 10/12 and X-Large14/16.
Again, Reduced to $38 -email me Size & Blue Menlo @KTStylists@gmail.com
Gratitude
I am grateful to be back to blogging and the fun feeling I had today putting together this outfit and taking photos.
I am grateful that I took the time to mourn the loss of my sister, not that I am done, but I am ready to start living fully again.
I am grateful that my daughter is helping get my homeschooling son ready to take his first CLEP test for Biology.
I am grateful for some warm days, tomorrow will be 70!
Thanks for Stopping By!
Black & White for Summer

I have often said that “Black & White Outfits are Always Right”
I have yet to see or wear one I did not love.
I added this Harve Bernard embroidered Kimono for this season,
as I wanted to embrace the embroidered trend in my favorite topper of the summer, kimonos.
I was on my way out to go print flyers for my weekend event for my new Amelia James Clothing business.
That planner I ordered from Etsy has been so helpful and the first thing on my list of needs for business.
After all, I am old school and prefer pen and paper and need organization , especially with my ADD.,
It was a very sunny time of day to take pictures, but I knew if I did not do it then,
it would not have happened at all.
I am having sinus issues and not at my best , in fact I have a temperature as I am typing this.
Fingers crossed this passes quickly as I have that big first event to introduce my business
to the community at a fundraiser for “Mended Little Hearts of Coastal Virginia” a brand new
chapter in our area for families dealing with children born with heart defects.
I have been very busy starting this new business and had my open houses last weekend.
It was great to get our feet wet and have one on one time with few friends and to hear
feedback on our line in comparison to our competitor who has a huge following.
The longer I am with this company and see what our founder stands for the happier I am with
my choice to choose Amelia James over Lularoe or Agnes & Dora.
Our founder is an ex rep of both of those companies and took her experiences
to create a company that is great for both reps and the customers.
I have been very busy and want to get back to blogging more and will do my best.
Gratitude
I am so grateful that I felt my sister come through to me this past weekend and it brought me to tears.
I am grateful that my business is expanding to carry 4x clothing and that I have a friend that I am excited to help.
I am grateful for the support of my family
I am grateful that my husband was able to heal with his family and spent a great weekend with them in Boston.
I am grateful that my hard working husband is starting his own business and is something he is passionate and excited about.
I am grateful to be wearing my sister’s Clark”s wedges today ( she had bought them end of season and they were brand new)
I am grateful my business partner and dear friend supported my doing a bike theme to honor my sister in the home boutique.
I even put a picture of Kelley up and it wasn’t until that moment that I felt at ease int he boutique.
The entire week as I was finishing it up I was crying like at the beginning of the mourning process, but
once the bicycle stuff was up and her picture I have been totally at ease.
In the photo Kelley is putting up her fist in celebration of completing a two day ride and this truly
is how I always think of her as so many times she got really knocked down and she rose higher each time.
Biking became a true passion after her abusive marriage and divorce!
The copper bike was in her kitchen and is actually to hold a bottle of wine, I used it to put in a card Kelley had written me many years ago!
This shows the legging rack my husband made for me and
the dressing room with the bicycle print and a nice sign that fits our bike theme.
And yet another Bicycle themed touch as you enter the dining room which is
now ” Amelia James by K & T Stylists”
The framed piece is a letter from our founder that was truly inspirational.
Dear Readers, Thanks for Letting me share the hard work that went into my Boutique!
If you would like to see more about the business you can join my Facebook page HERE.

Wearing a Poncho with Flared or Boot-cut Jeans is one
of Rachel Zoe’s classic silhouettes and I adore her style!
She definitely rocks a boho chic look better than anyone else!
So , of course I had to add my floppy hat to my outfit, lol!
I am not all about the darks and appreciate the creme turtleneck
and lighter wash jeans to create a look more my style.
I do however see a dark wash jean and navy turtleneck as another option at some point.
I love the added special touch of my turtleneck sweater by Spense , which I found in three colors
last year at Bj’s. After a quick search on the net , I discovered this brand at Belk , which you can
find here in four colors and two striped versions here.
I scored this wonderful steel necklace from a style sister private group,
which always makes me think I should check out my local boutiques as
that is where she found it.
My poncho is one of my Summer purchases that I love to find online from
the previous season, so I get deals on clearance.
QVC, HSN and EVINE are my favorite places to scour off season clearance items,.
This one is by OSO casuals and only left in size 1x/2x ,
but comes in other colors with more sizes available, found HERE.
Sadly, my Indigo thread from Evine jeans were
a clearance purchase as well and sold out.
Rachel Zoe has a line on QVC and here is her floppy hat if your are interested.
Dear Readers, as we go into voting and ending this election fiasco, I just want to take a moment
and pray for the future of our country and the reparation of all friends and family relationships,
which have been strained due to this most polarizing and insane election in my lifetime.
Gratitude
I am grateful that my husband and I are on the same page on this election.
I am grateful that after a Sunday of a migraine , that so far this morning I am pain free.
I am grateful for Hallmark Channel Christmas movies that are a delight and a calm in the storm of life.
I am grateful that when testing my blood sugar levels this past week that I can relax , as I gestational diabetes with 3 of my pregnancies and check myself every year or two. This menopausal weight gain had me worried….
Choker Trend

Today is our last above 80 degree day in the forseeable
weather forecast and I am thrilled to have hope for Fall’s Arrival!
What better way to celebrate than to wear Red?
I also thought it would be fun to showcase the choker trend .
I’ve previously worn my pearl open choker several times.
But this is a completely different vibe with the thin black rope kind
that you wrap around your neck a few times.
You could tie it with a bow, but I preferred it like this,
just draping down the top.
Mine is from Jane.com ,but check out these from Amazon
My sheer top was bought for this Summer , but as I was changing
my closet over for Fall , I opted to keep my sheer tops out.
I plan to layer them over a long sleeve top or turtleneck
to extend their versatility.
The black rope choker trend has a bit of edge to it and I like how it is
a complete opposite juxtaposition to the floral kimono top.
I also think the choice of the white jeans are like the top a feminine element.
To increase the edginess I paired it with black open toed booties,
mine are over two years old and from Payless.
The leather hobo purse from yesterday’s look was
the perfect finishing piece to the edginess I was aim for.
Dear Readers, I heard a suggestion of trying a ribbon around your neck to test your tolerance
for a choker such as this once , since that can be an issue for many women. Mine is not around
my neck tightly and I can easily put my finger underneath it.
Gratitude
I am grateful for this last beautiful sunny Summer like day.
I am also grateful for the beautiful breeze today that made the temperature more bearable.
I am grateful to my son home from college for stepping in and giving my youngest a break from taking my blog photos.
I am grateful for leftovers and getting a break from cooking and cleaning up afterwards.
I am grateful for the fun we are all having with the new rabbit who came home with my son from college.
Embracing Maximal Trend
Posted October 19, 2016
on:I’ve always referred to my style as maximal,
but this season it’s an official trend!
How does one embrace Fall Maximalism when the temperatures are LIKE Summer?
Check out the Lovely Ladies at the “I Feel Pretty Link Up”
My private style sisters group suggested styling a skirt and with all the fun
talk regarding the maximal trend on a fashion forum,
I knew just what skirt needed to come out to play!
This multi media OSO Casuals skirt is on clearance for $18.99 and comes in 4 great colors perfect for Fall. It’s hard to see , but the bottom is lace and there are two panels of embroidery on top of the embossed floral material. That itself qualifies this as a maximal piece.
You can see the lace bottom better in this photo.
I paired it with another maximal piece of the my polka dot sweater with ruffle detail .
I’ve had that for a few years and it still remains a favorite sweater.
My metallic pointed toe low wedges are a thrifted find.
A “blingy” necklaces also ups the maximal level.
My necklace is a Susan Graver from previous seasons , but Here are her current ones available .
You can see the ruffle detail in my sweater better in this photo.
I finished it off with my cute owl cuff bracelet that I found awhile back on Ebay.
You can see a peek of my new nail color a fun red -orange shade.
I got acrylics for my cruise, a first for me and DH loved the idea of my keeping them.
I finished this maximal look off with my GILI ( stands for Got it Love it )
obi belt and hobo style purse (sold out from previous seasons ) .
Dear Readers, I love these Fall colors and have so many other ways I plan to
wear this skirt going into winter. Burgundy is going very strong for the season!
Have you thought about ways to embrace the maximal trend or are you a die hard minimalist who is steering clear?:
Chime in, love your comment!
Gratitude
I am grateful that the universe gives what you ask for, today DH went to northern Virginia to cover leads, as he’s not been having as many as he’d like and the opportunity came up for two days of packed in leads so off he went!
I am grateful that my DH has inherited such a strong work ethic from his Father.
I am grateful that tonight my son is coming home from college with our new bunny!
I am grateful that my son had a good day at bowling.

With all the 70s style coming back this Fall,
this one is a perfect DIY type one that you can create yourself..
Unless of course you want to invest in the Valentino version that rocked the runways..
This baby runs close to $4000 !
I saw an article earlier that I can no longer find that showed how to just add carbider clips to the guitar straps.
So I hit up Amazon to see what they carried and picked out this one to give it a try..
My son assured me I could find the clips at the dollar store, so I will check that out…
Stayed tuned when this arrives I will attaching it to a purse and reveal the results…
So , Dear Readers what do you thing of this Trend?
For me it’s a no brainer because it definitely goes with my strong love of boho items.
Gratitude
I am grateful for a fun summer cooking with my niece, but sad that today was our last day together.
I am grateful that my son is home until this weekend when he heads back to college.
I am grateful for the fun bowling league my youngest has done that was a “Get Your Gear League, which he now has two new balls and is tying to get the feel of them before the leagues start in Fall.
I am grateful laughter and fun moments with my niece and children.
I am grateful for dear friends who keep me sane.
I am grateful for air conditioning as this darn heat wave is crazy hot!
I am grateful that there are 37 days until my Cruise , it can’t come soon enough.
I am grateful for the fun discover today that the Presidential Debate is going to be while I am on the cruise and technology free, I literally squealed and did a happy dance when my son looked up the date !
Modern 70’s Style
Posted July 28, 2016

Have you noticed the 70’s touches in style currently?
When I saw an article on Jeans for Fall in Instyle Magazine,
I was delighted to see embroidered ones among them…
When I checked my favorite jean designer, Diane Gilman
and found these, I swooned.
Does it get more modern with flared cropped jeans with the 70’s embroidery?
When my son took this photograph where I was trying a different pose ,
than my normal one with my legs crossed, he looked through the lens
and said, ” Mom , those jeans really do makes you look slimmer!”
When I saw these pictures, I saw exactly what he mentioned.
So, of course I ran and found my measuring tape and lo and behold,
I have lost an inch in my hips!
That’s a huge pay-off for not quite two weeks of cutting calories
and exercising every single day!
I had been concerned as the scale was showing only a 3 lb weight loss from
week one , but nothing for week 2…
So , ignoring my scale and going to keep doing what I’ve been with the treadmill as soon as
I wake up everyday for 2 miles and then a Pilates or 10-15 lb handweights doing arm work and squats.
PS. I also lost 1/2 inch in my waist and each thigh!
Dear Readers, asking for prayers today as our beloved mini-lop goes in for surgery
for what they suspect could be cancer.
She is in Richmond with my son
who is at college for Summer classes and
my daughter and youngest son joined him last night to be there
for the day and in the days afterwards to
help watch out for her during the recovery period.
It’s hard letting them do this without me, but in
the end it really will be a great bonding for them all.
This rabbit is technically my daughter’s but she allowed her
brother to take him to college last year and again this coming year ,
so it’s great that they are doing this together.
I joke my son who is studying for a future as a Dr. that he is going through this now
to get experience to help him later understand how his patient’s families feel.
Trend Alert

Have you seen the new Accessories Trend
Choker Necklaces?
A big take on the trend is layering it with another necklace like in this picture.
I love this idea as we all have some finer delicate necklaces that can be paired with a
simple black velvet or lace choker.
This lace one is from Amazon Found , Here
I am thinking about ordering this one….
This bolo type one in another version that is a very boho
way to get into the choker trend.
Although I have a strong boho tendency I think this is edgy and
not as feminine to my eye. Of course that just means it’s
something I would have to try on to see how I feel.
This version from Amazon is a different take on the bolo style.
This one might be more to my taste…
The other version is the open collar type and can be very simple as shown here.
I love the simplicity of the open collar version.
I found this Honora Pearl version on QVC
It’s currently on clearance for $49. 96.
I oredered this one in gold and I think I will layer it with
This Halston Lariat Necklace , also from QVC, that I bought a few months ago.
I have to say I love this so much I ordered in in silver recently…
DH notices and compliments this necklace every time I’ve worn it…
That’s saying something as he compliments clothes and shoes all the time, but
this necklace really catches his eye as being different for me.
Dear Readers, So, what’s the verdict?
How do you feel about a choker Necklace?
I still remember a pink velvet verstion that I had as a child that had a pink rose
dangling from it and the wonderful feeling I had wearing it… Back in my teen years I love the
victorian era and my mother spent hours watching me delight in exploring the 1928 jewelry collection
Gratitude
I am grateful for the trends like this that recycle from my youth and give me chance to relive the memory and happiness it brings forth.
I am grateful that my trio of kids joined in together and have been having fun with Pokemon Go, this has truly been a great bonding experience for kids who are 16,20 and 25. .
I am grateful that Pokemon Go is getting my introverted children out the door and getting exercise as they go out at least twice every day and one time for hours….. And if that’s not enough my youngest and my daughter got their bikes out of the garage and have been riding them. My middle son was generous and gave his bike to my oldest who lives near the beach and uses it often , so he was left with a scooter to join in the fun….
I am grateful for this past month and a half with my son , who today will be heading back to VCU for summer classes and is looking forward to more areas to go Pokemon hunting, lol….
I am grateful for the anticipation of a girls trip in September with some mothers who need a break from family, I know it will be reviving and just what the doctor ordered!
.
