Suede is a big trend for the Season, but then again it’s a classic.

I think it’s so funny when things like this are listed as a trend.

The thing that isn’t classic is the different silhouettes like these faux suede leggings.

DSC_2192-2

These are by my favorite Evine line, Kate & Mallory and can be found, HERE

I read the reviews of this and saw that they ran small

and ordered mine up one size to a large , and that was the perfect fit.

I keep finding myself rubbing them, as they feel so soft.

DSC_2202-2

My scarf was part of Jane.com grab bag that I bought and I rather like the colors.

It has a seafoam or mint shade, along with grey and cognac, making it useful for all three leather jackets I own.

Made In Italy Bronze Plated Silver Green Crystal Earrings

Here’s a better look at my earrings, which are still available at TJ Maxx, HERE

I bought them in purple as well , as part of my need for earrings because I rely on my hoop ones a lot.

I bought the olive Diane Gilman fringe v-neck sweater at the end of the season last winter

and wore it only once or twice before the weather changed.

I hope to get more use of it this season.

Today the temperatures were mid 70’s and the sweater was comfortable,

as winter arrives I’ll add a shirt or turtleneck underneath for more warmth.

I’ve mentioned my love of Diane Gilman jeans a lot , but I should mention too,

that she designs tops with a very strong boho vibe ,

HERE is What she currently offers in tops.

Dear Readers, today was the first day in about a week that I wasn’t dealing with nausea and migraine level headaches, so let’s hope that is behind me.  Feeling that way made me crave nothing but carbs, but the good news was I wasn’t hungry often enough to go overboard at all.   Thank goodness for that at least!

Gratitude

I am grateful for the 26 days of gratitude that is giving me a letter and asking what that sparks for gratitude. Today’s was B and I chose the word Brothers, and feel blessed to have one older and one younger who are both kind hearted and giving .

I am grateful for a fun conversation with my son away at college , as he went to BJ’s to pick up his contacts and they were closed for an hour, so he killed that hour by chatting with both myself and his brother.  I’ll take quality moments like that whenever I can get them.

I am grateful that my son is really enjoying his Biology lab and all the disccting , since his goal is eye surgery, the fact that he is matter of fact about the whole thing is a good sign.

I am grateful that my son has been so awesome about my nausea and not complaining about my not feeling like cooking. It was great to ask him what he wanted for dinner tonight and for him to not even hesitate and replying, Kiebalsa and Pierogies!  I use a turkey version for lower fat and it was good for me to eat a warm dinner as I’ve had cereal for a few days.

I’ve had this outfit idea in my head for quite awhile now and was

absolutely delighted to finally put it together!

DSC_2029

I added this wonderful wrap from Jane .com for this season.

Everything else I’ve had for a few seasons.

I am not much of an outfit repeater, having to change something about the look,

for this one I like it so much , I may just change the turquoise necklace( a birthday gift from friends)

out for another pop of color.

DSC_2038

Not only was I delighted to finally wear this outfit that has been a vision for a few months,

but I also had the special treat of DH being home when I put this together and he kept

complimenting it and said he loved the dark brown border on this.

Ladies, this is progress, for a man who tolerates my boho style , but isn’t a lover of it.

He took my photos today, giving my son a break and he kept the compliments coming…

DSC_2032

While I am a lover of color, there are days its’ fun to wear

neutrals and when it has such wonderful features as this one it hits the right note.

The different shades of brown, the texture in the snakeskin purse and the fringe,

offers just the right amount of interest.

The touches of silver in my hoop earrings, necklaces and bracelets creates a nice balance.

DSC_2047 (1)

My husband likes the added hardware of the zippered legs of my

Diane Gilman Jeans.

I liked wearing the classic Aerosoles mules.

Gratitude

I am grateful that my husband is finally coming around with my love of ponchos and wraps that are a  big part of my boho styling.

I am grateful that I was feeling better today, as yesterday I had body aches and a low grade fever.

I am grateful that I am well on my way to Christmas shopping for my daughter ,as it’s been awhile that I have had wonderful suruprises for her for Christmas, she is a list maker and I’ve missed this.

I am grateful for a few Halloween happenings to look forward to this week.  Fun Events are great for my happiness levels on gray days like today..

I am grateful for the fun my husband has been having with our youngest, making cupcakes, carving a pumpkin and making mashed potatoes together and teaming up to get up the falling leaves.

There is nothing more fun for this boho loving fashionista,

than when we get temps were I can rock a poncho.

It’s so fun to bring the boho look into my Fall/Winter Style,

which before ponchos was a struggle.

IMG_4164 (2)

If you are a regular reader, you may remember this one as

it was a favorite last year and I am happy to say the love is still strong.

I paired it with new faux suede leggings by Kate & Mallory

Suede and faux suede on on trend for the season and this legging was just what I needed to embrace it

to pair with lots of tunic length tops and boots for the season.

It comes in three colors, black and dark brown in addition to this taupe shade.

Things like this sell out pretty fast on Evine Live.

IMG_4159 (2)

I scored this paisley necklace in fun shades of the season on clearance from Charming Charlie

, so no longer available.

I wanted an extrao vertical line to break up the poncho, so I added a long chain and my mother’s brooch.

I love wearing this pin as a necklace, but brooches are back this season, so I may have to break out and

wear it on a scarf or jacket in the near future.

IMG_4171 (2)

I loved the extra pop of color with the yellow handbag from Amazon.

It also plays nicely with leapard flats.

If you haven’t yet embraced the versatility of leopard flats and what they add to an outfit,

I highly recommend you run to the store right now!

Dear Readers, I am still on my shopping ban, but check out this temptation

a tweed/leather multi media blazer from Liz Claiborne, NY.

It comes in sizes 0 to 28

With our weather not reaching true Fall temperatures  ,

I managed with what I could to create this look subsituting a more vibrant pink sleeveless blouse.

I’ve had burgundy skinny cords for a few seasons, but these new Old Navy Joggers have been waiting to be debuted.

DSC_1827

I am also debuting my new

Burgundy Floppy Hat, by Rachel Zoe via Qvc.

If you don’t already have Burgundy in your wardrobe,

I highly recommend you add at least one item for this season.

DSC_1826

My favorite looks with the jogger style pants is to take them up a notch

and pair them with blazers and pumps.

In this look, I opted for grey plaid pumps and a seersucker grey striped jacket,

both are pieces I thrifted from Goodwill.

Dear Readers , it’s so hard to have a wonderful weekend, when your heart is heavy due to the shooting in Oregon. College students of all ages , some starting of fresh out of high school, others after divorce or raising families, all wanting an education and a better future, targeted by a sick person out for destruction and chaos.

I pray for the families  and friends of those whose lives were so brutally cut short, for those who survived and may well suffer PTSD and for all the students in every college who now feel vulnerable.

I am going to forego my Gratitude Section of my blog today and ask in it’s place that you each say a prayer.

I am sure so many of us are already doing so, but the collective of us all is important , so I ask anyway.

I had a lot of fun with this look…

Boho Fun that is!

DSC_1574

A floppy hat like this is very on trend for the Fall Season.

I’ve seen them all over the mall, most recently Old Navy in fun colors of olive and burgundy.

Here’s my new boho vest that I am absolutely loving.

I can see so many ways to style this for most seasons.

It will be great with long sleeve dresses for Fall.

My top is an Issac Mizrahi peplum found HERE, he’s added a long sleeve version to his line HERE

My necklace is actually a pin that was my mother’s and I wear whenever I want to feel close to her.

My leather hobo handbag is from QVC’s GILI line and is sold out, but HERE are their current hobo bags.

DSC_1586

My Flare Jeans are by Diane Gilman,

If you are a regular reader you know this is my go to designer for jeans.

The best thing about buying jeans from this line is the versatility of sizes..

They come in Petie, Regular, Tall and Plus Regular, Plus Petite and Plus Tall.

In Fact a lot of QVC designers have these size options.

Gratitude

I am grateful that I was feeling much better today.

I am grateful that Unisom is working to help me get sleep and beating that darn menopausal issue.

I am grateful that I scheduled our next Parent’s Night out for next week.

I am grateful that tomorrow is bowling day, makes hump day , so much better!

I am grateful that my son is home from college and his sense of humor and fun conversations.

If you are a Dear Regular Reader,

You know that I Fully Embrace My Femininity

and this outfit is certainly an example of that.

My GYPO Style Challengers suggest that we all post

outfits supporting our favorite team.

I had to jump at that Opportunity…

DSC_1525

You can’t get more feminine than lace with my layering tank top from Jane .com

The Joan Rivers via QVC jacket with the elastic waistband to show your curves also adds to the feminine style.

I finished it off with Old Navy Pixie Pants and my new Fringe Booties via Amazon.

These boots actually have silver chains among the fringe, a great addition!

DSC_1523

There are some outfits that create a very high happiness factor

and this my Dear Readers did just that for me today.

I really love the new lace layering tanks and have so many plans to style them for Fall/Winter.

I bought another one in a goldenrod color, as well.

While mine are not available, Here is a low priced option from Kohl’s

and a more expensive style from Grace & Lace.

With so many options to style these with shirts you already own,

I have to recommend this as a fabulous addition to your wardrobe.

DSC_1542

I wore some fun yellow earrings I had from summer necklace set.

What you can’t see very well is my new birthday bracelet.

It’s by the Bradford Exchange and can be found , here.

This time of year as my college children, have gone on their way,

And I turn to Homeschooling my youngest,

My thoughts venture to Fall Fashions despite having to wait until

October to Indulge…

This Season promises to be a very fun one with many silhouette choices ,after a few years of the

Skinny Jean tucked into boots look seems to reign.

20 Style Tips On How To Wear Flare Jeans Outfit Ideas | Gurl.com

With the 70’s trend promising to be strong Flares are back in full force.

Blue And Black Casual Chic Outfit

Boot cuts are another option if Flares are a little too much for you…

DG2 by Diane Gilman Fit and Flare Jean with Button Leg

I bought these Diane Gilman ones as they fit my love of Boho style.

They fit me much like the previous ones pictured, down to the ground if I wear heels , as bootcuts and flares should.

Track pants, blazer, heels

The Sporty Chic trend is still going strong with joggers dressed up

with blazers and heels.

Layer a blazer over your most casual pieces for an instant workwear outfit.

Or a more casual version with white sneakers

This version with contrast zippered pockets and stripes offers

a more sporty look.  Pairing them with booties is another shoe wear option

that seems to be popular.

For the winter, culottes by Gucci. Love it!I

I think Culottes have to be the bottom I am most excited by,

as I loved them in my younger years and am happy they’ve come back around.

720-962- Kate & Mallory® Woven Zipper Front Wide-Leg Boot Split Skirt

I think these are to be treated more like a skirt for Fall/Winter, and

liked this Kate & Mallory option  in both the grey checked version and black.

Dear Readers, of course the skinny’s are still a very important part of Fall/Winter style to be tucked into booties or boots.

Old Navy

Since Plaid promises to be big again I opted for this Old Navy version.

I must say Old Navy Pixie pants have become a favorite of mine.

These ankle pants will work well with all kinds of shoe and boot choices.

I am grateful for a fabulous weekend at the Toby Keith Concert with my husband and youngest son.

I am grateful for a very relaxing Sunday, catching some sunrays and grilling on the barbecue.

I am grateful for a phone call with my daughter as she moves out old roommates and moves in the new ones for this last year at Boston College for her master’s degree.

I am grateful for my daughters view of the world where she said, “I am winning at Life! ” , because she sold two books on ebay that will cover the cost of her books for the next semester.

I am grateful that after a week of walking on his foot, my son’s sprained ankle is healing nicely.

I am grateful that in just two weeks my shrunken family of 3 will be heading for another fabulous weekend at Massahutten Resort and the anticipation that comes along with impending plans like these that keep us all joyful! ( My Birthday trip)

One of the Trends for Fall is Black and White Pattern Mixed Prints

graphic one

Since I am not about to run out and find a new piece that is a mixed print,

I got to thinking why not pair together black and white prints already in our closets

for pattern mixing?

But we think you can translate this look into your own life using some key elements of her patterned pants/embellished top formula: Stick to the same color palette (in this case, black and white). Pay attention to proportions (she teams voluminous pants with a fitted top). And when all else fails, add a killer red lip and a little swagger.

I look forward to combining them  to create interesting looks this Fall/Winter Season.

Dear Readers, Do you like the idea of black and white print pattern mixing?

Feeling Inspired?

I keep picturing options with things in my closet and am happy that this is exactly what I want to create by

Not Shopping for a year ,  except for Accessories after September 8th, my 50th birthday!

I’ve been wanting a few Gingham tops, so when

I was at Goodwill and saw this one and another in black

by Old Navy I was smitten.

(my internet was acting up, so I didn’t get to post this yesterday

before I headed to Richmond to drop my college son off for his sophomore year.  )

DSC_0995

Not only was it a color I love, but I also wanted it to be larger sized than

I would normally wear , so I could easily tie it at the waist or

use it in Fall/Winter under a sweater.

DSC_0997

I paired it with an orange necklace , I’ve had for awhile and you can’t see very well, but

I am also wearing stud earrings from Walmart that are mock Kate Spade in Coral.

DSC_0991

This felt like a wonderful summer combination, but when I get anything new,

my brain is filled with the question,

“How can I wear this across other seasons?”

Quite often I use Pinterest as my Visual Tool to help answer that question.

Gratitude

I am grateful that I slept in later today.  Yes, sleep is not to be taken for granted…

I am grateful for wonderful compassionate friendships.

I am grateful for a dear friend who loaned a scooter for my son to take while he has to wear a walking boot ,

to tool around campus, should he feel the need for it.

I am grateful that my niece will have the fun of seeing her cousins apartment as she accompanies us to Richmond.

I am grateful for my daughter who took it upon herself to order pizza for dinner tonight.

I am grateful that I got started finalizing homeschooling curriculums and went over the weekly schedule with my son.

I am grateful that even our DMV has online options for Driver’s Ed for homeschoolers!

My Husband’s Company Treated us for a Night of Baseball with our local

Tidewater Tides

DSC_0747

We had a wonderful time especially hanging out with our two youngest.

I think my husband’s favorite part was spending the Tides bucks that came with the package his company provided us, as he and my youngest indulged… cotton candy, ice cream, nuts , cracker jacks were the snacks they ate and that was on top of hot dogs and Italian sausages.

DSC_0748

I decided to wear linen capris, my new striped peplum top from Ebay and my bejeweled vest.

I couldn’t wear wedges or heels to help the proportions of the cropped pants and my petite height,

so I opted for the very low wedge pointed toe metallic’s .

I wasn’t sure if we would be sitting in the sun, so my fedora was a must.

Turned out we had great seats in the shade, but I loved wearing the hat, as I have been thinking lately that

I haven’t worn as many hats so far this Summer.

DSC_0754

Can you believe that I am so use to taking blog photos, that I didn’t feel at all funny about taking

this among all the people?

It’s a first time I didn’t feel that twinge of self consciousness.

My trusty cross body adorned with the blue butterfly art by Harold Feinstein

was the perfect finish for the activity of the night.

Dear Readers, I tried something new for the first time tonight, by wearing bracelets on both arms. I’ve been wanting to try it and with the sleeveless look of the day , it just felt right.

Have you ever worn bracelets on both arms, do you like this trend?

Gratitude

I am grateful for a fun weekend of family time spent, bowling and at a baseball game.

I am grateful that my husband finished patching the holes in our bedroom from the electrical issues and repainted and finally moved all the furniture  back into place.

I am grateful for a fun day hanging out with a dear friend on Saturday, thrifting and checking out the new Tuesday Morning.

I am grateful that for the anticipation of next weekend as my daughter comes home and my son gets his keys to his first college apartment.
