I absolutely love burgundy and Navy together in outfits.

Lately with these crazy temperatures that are frustrating the daylights out

of this lover of Fall and her boots.

It’s certainly giving me a great opportunity to get some great use of my pumps.

I could wear this outfit type often  , with Old Navy Pixie pants , a topper and

a variety of shirt silhouettes to keep it interesting.

As a stay at home Mom, I had settled on lots of jeans in different colors and silhouettes.

This past year I’ve added several pants from Old Navy and am much happier with the variety.

Here is another way I’ve worn Navy and Burgundy in the past.

DSC_2174

My sweater is reversible , with the other side being the print you see here.

I could have worn it without the folds and it would have been solid navy,

I like that it can be worn four different ways depending on whether you highlight the reverse side or not.

It’s my first purchase of ATTITUDES BY RENEE found at QVC

It’s $39.95 and comes in three color options, sizes xs to 3x  and is made of a poly blend.

My purse is a vintage Aigner one I thrifted and absolutely adore,

my mother was a big Aigner fan and it reminds me of her.

I fully embraced the floppy hat trend that is going strong for the season,

this one is by Rachel Zoe via QVC.

Gratitude

I am grateful the my husband worked in the evening on Weds. and was able to join in for our homeschool bowling day and that my son stayed after with him to get in some extra practice.

I am grateful that there is a bowling league starting in December that will be Sunday evenings that my husband and I will join and it will earn us a fun trip to Atlantic City this summer.

I am grateful that my daughter who is feeling overwhelemed with her internship, her masters homework and projects and applying to PHD programs , called me just for some compassion and Mom love!

I am grateful that my husband’s job is going well and his new boss is appreciative of him.  My dear Readers, three weeks ago completely out of the blue he was let go after being the number one salesman on pace to do a million dollars and having had no complaints ever from management and the worst part was they wouldn’t tell him why. We know that it was a move by the toxic consultant who is intimidated that my husband’s strengths are his weaknesses and wanted to get him out of the way before coming in full time in January…. No worries, it ‘s just God moving my dear husband into a better place, but boy was it a punch in the gut for a guy who works so hard!

Last Night the GYPO Summer Style Challenge Facebook page

had a lot of fun making up Haiku’s about the challenge.

I wrote four ,but decided to wear a Kimono today to honor you with just one..

A Past Life Hippy?

I’ve had this one from Steinmart for quite a few years and never tire of it.

I am wearing my new Diane Gilman Cuffed Capris

and I just had to buy another color Clark’s Wedges

While I love fashion jewelry, it’s really nice toe wear my fine jewelry pieces, like this sapphire necklace my husband bought me years ago.

I also love wearing hoop earrings a lot, A nod to my Boho style.

These are a lightweight nickle free version I love from  Simply Whispers

If you are a regular reader, you might recognize my bowling tote bag!

Yes, I went bowling today and will be doing so a lot this summer.

It’s important for my son to practice a lot before his State competition in July.

I purchased a Summer Fun Card where we pay $39.95 and get 3 games every week day for the entire Summer.

We did this last year and had lots of fun!

If that’s not enough we joined a fun league with the parents and children teams for Saturday Nights…

A great inside fun for Summer , especially good when our temps this week are in the 90’s !

Check out your local AMF bowling alley for details on how you to can join the fun!

Gratitude

I am grateful for break downs that lead to lessons learned for my children.

I am grateful for the fun we had bowling today!

I am grateful for finding my motivation to lose this weight and that I worked out first thing this morning.

I am grateful for a good night’s sleep.. I stayed up later due to my midnight walk, but slept in until noon, getting a full 8-9 hours, something that hasn’t happened in weeks!

I am grateful that I finally was able to stop by my friend’s home today to bring her daughter the wonderful clothing items I had purchased for the budding fashionista!

Today I went to the mall with my son, to use gift cards

to complete a few more clothing items to his evolving style.

With it being a colder rainy day, I opted for my new red Poncho, a Christmas present.

I love this deep red color, a color I use to think didn’t work well for me…

I like the addition of the print top underneath, although a plain black top would look great too..
I really like adding either a scarf or long necklace with ponchos to create a vertical line, a trick for us petites…

I had to stand by my favorite tree without touching it due to the wet days we’ve been having..

IMG_2419

I would normally have thought of my petite height and

opted for a pair of heeled black booties , rather than riding boots..

I, however, knew with the body aches

I’d been experiencing.  that I wanted flats today..

IMG_2426

I am also wearing my new Cloche Hat, found at Amazon Here..

My favorite stylist extraordinaire, Angie from You Look Fab,

recently recommended I add a cloche style hat to my style..

Dear Readers, I had a fun day with my son… anytime I get with just one child individually is special. When my son saw me in my new hat, he called me Mary Poppins.. I had to laugh when seeing the photos with the addition of the umbrella..

My body aches came back late in the day,

but not nearly as bad as they’ve been,

so guess I need to just take it easy…

Dear Readers, Have any of you had the bad luck of catching the virus or full on flu going on now?

Did you get any great fashion items for Christmas?

Would love to hear from you , please leave a comment…

Gratitude

I am grateful that my son and I had a great day together and that he found 3 great new pieces to add to his style.

I am grateful that my body aches are getting better and are definitely not flu related…

I am grateful that my oldest is definitely feeling much better and is on the upswing from his bout with the flu.

I am grateful for phone call from my sister in law today, love her so much..

I am grateful that everyone pitched in and helped clean up my kitchen today.

When thinking of this look I could only come up with the title

Texture and Pattern….

IMG_1757

This open weaved sweater is actually a heavy weight, so why not extend it’s use for cooler temps…

Previously I wore it only in Spring or Summer with a tank underneath..

Make note of my Just Fab purse in this shot because I turned it backwards in the other pictures, LOL

IMG_1769

My Gingham blouse and Jones NY sweater are both items I thrifted…

I especially love finding button up blouses when thrifting because I never owned any a few years ago and now have about 8-10…. For just $2 each , you would be surprised at the name brands and like new condition that you can find thrifting….

IMG_1780

Again my son wanted me to stand in the leaves and I rather like it….

I wasn’t sure what shoes to pair with these cargo joggers and opted for the second pair of boots I bought in Ireland…

Of course in freezing temps I wouldn’t even want a sliver of my leg showing, but so many times our temps swing back and forth so much that perhaps I’ll manage a similar look with my tan cargo joggers, both from F21 from previous season…

IMG_1783

I felt pretty boho in this look and liked that!

I definitely do more boho looks in Summer and Spring, but it’s nice to get that feel in cooler temps…

Dear Readers, tonight I tried a quick new recipe for Chicken with a very easy Feta sauce from Pinterest

Chicken with Feta Cheese Sauce. Mmm yummy!!! Reduced fat feta and Smart Balance could make this a great bandster recipe!

You can find the info Here

I made a few changes, by adding in garlic powder and artichoke hearts and leaving out the chives…

I really liked it and think I could have even added in Spinach or mushrooms….which I will try next time….

I used 2% milk evaporated milk and 1/3 less fat Feta cheese

I paired it with grilled Zucchini .

Gratitude

I am grateful for Pinterest and have many recipes saved that I am going to do a better job of trying…

I am grateful that Redbook magazine which came in the mail today had a recipe for Vegetarian Lasagna , which I am going to try soon as I have deprived myself from Lasagna since my weight loss began…

I am grateful for the older man (think late 70’s) who came to me in Burlington to compliment my Fedora and show me his own…. He made me smile and I know I did the same…

I am grateful for my gutsy spirit and reply to the youngster in the Dollar Tree who yelled out rudely that they needed another cashier (there was only 3 people in each line)…. I told him it was an opportunity to learn Patience… I said it in a very laughing fun way and he smiled and calmed down….

I am grateful for the look the cashier gave me to say thank you…

I am grateful that I had a nice walk to the stores as it really lifts my spirits…

I am grateful that I didn’t buy anything at Burlington, as I really don’t need anything else for the Season….
