Pink and Purple for Spring

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter Weekend!
Our weather took a cold turn with rain, so it was a nice
chance to break out one of my leather jackets.
I orginally took this shot without my glasses, but in order to indulge my
photographer who thinks my glasses add character,
I happily put them back on and posed again.
Love that kid of mine!
For a few months, I had misplaced my camera and recently found it in the back pocket
of my purple purse. After recharging the battery, my son couldn’t wait to take my photos,
even making me wait for him to get dressed when his father was right there willing to take my pictures.
I love how invested he is in my blogging journey!
My husband hadn’t noticed this Gili leather jacket despite my having worn it before.
He actually complimented it three times , once when he first saw me in it, once when we were at
the grocery store and again when we got home as I took it off to get cooking dinner.
It’s currently on sale in several colors for $109 on QVC with payments of just $18.16 available.
I am wearing a size 10 in this line, which was perfect as the arms fit snug,
so an 8 would have been too tight.
My Liz Claiborne NY blouse, which I absolutely love, is the opposite
and runs big as I am wearing an xs and it’s not tight on my 34DDD chest.
You can’t see it very well, but I am also wearing a Halston Belt from QVC ,which I recently bought in a size xs/s , as I didn’t want it long enough to have to tie it in a bow.
Jeans are wonderful bootcuts by Diane Gilman and a great weight for Spring/Summer.
Purse by JOY & IMANfrom Hsn as well.
My Peep toe booties are last year’s from Payless.
Gratitude
I am grateful my daughter used her boyfriend’s cell phone to call me Saturday night after her Anime conference to share with me all that happened and how much fun she had. Her own phone is shutting off and messing up.
I am grateful that my husband took our son to see Batman Vs Superman movie, allowing me a rare night at home alone.
I am grateful for all the texts I received from my siblings on Easter and the one my sister shared where she had made a donation to church in memory of our parents and their names were printed in the bulletin.
I am grateful for a fun evening of cooking Easter dinner together with my husband, as we don’t get to cook together often.
I decided to show today’s look in two ways… This was what I put on to wear for family outing to dinner…
Linking up with Style Elixir
The black and white trend can be done in so many ways and today, I decided to mix patterns for a more modern version of the trend..
As my husband was taking these photos, it occured to me that these shoes are very much what I would choose to go out with the entire family, but what could I do to take this to a date night look???
I decided a simple switch into my newest thrift store shoes would do the trick.. Am I living up to my blog name today???
Well, of course my husband wholeheartedly agreed!
Dear Readers, this was such an easy and fun transformation…. Look for more of those kind of transistions in the future…So for those of you who are mothers, can you relate to this idea at all? Would this little trick work for your world? Your comments are greatly appreciated and welcomed!
Gratitude
I am grateful that I have my ten year old niece every other week for the summer.. I miss her so much during the school year!!
I am grateful for the walk (exercise) I took with my niece to the craft store looking for some summer fun!
I am grateful that my brother has freinds looking for a cheaper way for me to get an entirely new heating/cooling system, which we were told today, needs replacing….
I am grateful for my strong faith and the fact that this “bad news” didn’t even phase me..
I am grateful that while the air conditioning repairman was here that he added coolant to my husband’s van.

I found this tunic while thrifting last spring and it just didn’t quite go over my hips, but now does so time to bring it out..
I felt really fun and spunky in this look , something I don’t always feel in pants…I think the combo of the larger floral print and the shooties are what created that great feeling… I wore this grocery shopping at Bj’s and noticed a few admiring looks from fashionably dressed women in their late twenties to thirties, so guess I din’t look to wacky…
I think I might restyle this again with a grey shirt underneath or for warmer weather with just a tank top and maybe dark wash jeans. All I know is that this tunic will get more use. Today, I needed the lightweight cobalt sweater underneath as temperatures were only near 50 today… Going to be in the mid 40’s tomorrow…Spring just teased us! Dear Readers I am feeling much better and hope that is the end of it… I am mentally focused on losing these last ten pounds. For those who don’t think I need to lose another ten please understand that I am just trying to get back to the figure I know and love that disappeared due to anxiety and depression over losing a store I loved and watching dementia in my mother. I like the current body, but just feel short of loving it and the ability to like myself in pants with the shirt tucked in.. Once there I will feel confident in everything I wear and be back to myself..In the interest of full disclosure, I am 5 ft 3 inches and 140lbs. That is the highest weight WW’s recommends as a healthy goal weight for my height. The lowest is 113, so I am aiming for near the middle. Now off to exercise, doing my fluidity ballet bar and toning with weights.
Gratitude: I am grateful to be feeling better and to have gone out and done some much needed grocery shopping. I am grateful that I ate really well today and exercised. I am also grateful that I bought great things to keep me on track.
