Yes, our temperatures fell enough that with the clouds and winds,

I couldn’t just wear my light weight sweatshirt and went back in to grab my jean jacket

IMG_1281

I’ve been waiting to wear this new sweatshirt from H&M that I bought over the summer for clearance pricing.

I love the white jeans  with the blues..

IMG_1284

I love this bumpy textured yarn mixed with silver bits…

I went from owning no sweatshirts to now owning three or four…

You’v gotta love these mixed media pieces that are on trend along with the sporty trend…

IMG_1286

I chose the simple Avon  tassel necklace to just add a vertical line down the middle.

I like that styling trick and use it often..

I also threw a headband on today with the winds it worked well…

IMG_1293

It felt great to wear layers and heels!

Today’s temps match what the temperatures in Ireland have been recently..

I am loving my Just Fab purses, I’ve never been one to spend a lot on purses, so these work well for me..

Not that I don’t love my Dooney & Bourke…

Dear Readers, It’s going to be a tough time trying to homeschool these last days before our trip.

12 days and counting….Well 11 by the time I post this…

My head is just not in the homeschooling right now and my son is trying to take advantage of that…

It’s not a big deal with the semester college type courses he’s taking for high school as we can just take longer to finish them…

Who cares if we are done by January and moving on to all new classes?

There’s a lot of pressure as a homeschooling mother to prove our children are soaring, but why ?

In my case he was making great grades in Public School , but struggling in reading and writing….

I’ve already done better than they did, with him now reading high school appropriate books.

Your turn, What do you stress yourself about needlessly, does writing your thoughts on it help set you straight?

Gratitude

I am grateful for blogging as sometimes I don’t know where each post will lead, It was nice to write that out about homeschooling and realize I stress myself out needlessly!

I am grateful that my husband called just recently to report another successful day.

I am grateful that my husband is doing so well with this job since he resigned from the management position.

I am grateful for the chaos that caused him to resign, as he is more profitable and less stressed.

I am grateful that my daughter and I booked her flights for a wedding where she is a bridesmaid for her friend and for her to come home for Thanksgiving.

I so wanted to go back to bed after I stepped on the scale and saw that I was up a pound... It’s par for the course during that wonderful time of the month… Last month it didn’t happen and I thought good, I’m ready for this chapter of my life to be over.. Unfortunately, this month is making up for it in water weight and bloating…

IMG_3352

No worries, next week I’ll lose 2lbs… or so the pattern has been... Just so frustrating when I worked out like a maniac this week.  I did my Fluidity ballet bar workouts 5 days, used 8lb weights for a good circuit of exercises daily and ran on the trampoline(to protect my knee) every other day…

IMG_3361

I chose a very casual look to match my depressed mood.  The skirt is Chaus via ebay(I own an identical one in a larger size and was thrilled to find this one!)  The mocha sweater( via Chadwicks, no longer available)  has a cute hood and purple in the print so I added the shoes and necklace in that shade.  I’ve had these ruffled ballet flats for a few year now and love them as they have a great sole and are by M. Patrick purchased at DSW on clearance.    Aigner purse was thrifted for just $4.  Jean Jacket was thrifted as well…

IMG_3358

The purple heart is a charm I bought in NY when I had my store.  I went to BJ’s after my WW meeting and ordered prescription glasses and sunglasses.  I wear contacts when I go out,but prefer glasses for hanging out at home.  You are sure to see those in the future.  I was long overdue for glasses, but kept putting it off as unimportant since I only wore them at home.  I use to wear them to work as contacts are not always comfortable when I have sinus issues,  so I am looking forward to having a choice again!

IMG_3364

I should have ironed this skirt, oops!

Linking up with Random Wednesday & What I Wore Wednesday

Dear Readers, I am grateful that my weight gain was not more as in the past it has been up two pounds during my menstrual cycle… I am grateful to be getting new glasses.  I am grateful for my luck when thrifting today.  I am grateful that despite my mood and my lack of sleep(my husband has taken up snoring this week and woke me up 4 times!),  that I still pushed myself to workout this afternoon   I am grateful that my sinuses were much better today!

Plans for the upcoming week is to continue the exercise, drinking lots of water, increase vegetables and proteins.  I didn’t have the Caprese Salad Tuesday night as life happened and I didn’t make it to the store until very late.  I had a baked potato with cheese as I had 12 points left for the day and that is comfort food for a stressful day!

Wednesday’s Food Plan

6-8 glasses of H20!!!!

Breakfast– 2 hard-boiled eggs & grapes  w/ 1% milk

Lunch–  Baked Zucchini stuffed with Cherry tomatoes, mozz cheese, Ital Seasoning & Olive Oil w/ green tea

Snacks-  2 Laughing Cow cheese wedges, Apple, 1 Pc Dark Chocolate

Dinner- Grilled Chicken Breast &  Yellow Squash, Tomotoes, Italian Seaoning & Parmesan Cheese Casserole w/ green tea

Yes, Fashion can cure my spirits regardless of what my stomach is doing….(which was keeping me up all night with waves of pain just enough to be irritating)   It is getting better and not as bad as the first bout I had two weeks ago!

IMG_2975

So what is better than a jean jacket, black dress and boots?

IMG_2983

A touch of Animal Print of Course!

The weather was cool enough that boots were a better option and no complaints from here.  I’ll take any excuse to prolong boot wearing before the hot humid temps of summer make that impossible.  I think this would be a great  casual date night look.  I know there are those who say as a woman over 40 should only wear dresses s  at knee length, but I don’t subscribe to set rules in fashion.

IMG_2994

I purchased this dress from Chadwicks a few years ago when I was mourning the loss of my mother and dreaming of my weight loss, but hadn’t begun the journey yet.  I prepared for this journey as part of my healing.  It’s so fun to reap the benefits of that preparation!

Dear Readers, Your comments are welcomed and greatly appreciated… I have missed three WW meetings due to two bouts with this stomach bug and a sinus infection in between… this final weight loss has been on hold for way too long and I am ready to kick it into gear, wish me luck and pray this illness stuff is done!

Linking up Today with What I Wore Wednesday  and Random Wednesday and Rolled Up Pretty

Gratitude:  I am grateful for the sleep I was able to get today.  I am grateful for my youngest son for taking my photos.  I am grateful for touching base with a friend.   I am grateful for this bout of illness and it’s kick in the butt to get back to finish my last ten pound weight loss..

I am so excited to show you my thrift store finds for this week.  I dd really well and am on cloud nine.  Yesterday I showed my new Jean jacket and thought it would be fun to show you an outfit I posted previously with the jean jacket that now needs a new home.

get-attachment (5)It just doesn’t fit me anymore and it’s time for it to go.  Here is yesterday’s look with my newly thrifted one from Salvation Army for just $4.99

IMG_0955I think you can see an obvious difference and my successful weight loss since beginning this blog….These photos were taken 11 weeks apart.  I am so glad that I decided to show these two looks together because it was a really fantastic wake up call for me to pause and see my success.  The weight has been coming off slower and I didn’t feel like the results were that dramatic.

Now, I am excited to show you my finds this week:

First is these wonderful booties in grey.  I have had so much fun with my black and brown ones and secretly have been dreaming of getting them in grey.  My husband loves them and the $4 price tag.

IMG_0972

My favorite find for this week has to be this suede jacket.  It fits like a glove and I am overjoyed because I had purchased a leather one in this color and is too big and the wrong cut for my petite height.  Can you believe this was a mere $6.99? I would have to say this lucky find ranks up there with my Bass Penny Loafers.

IMG_0967

Next are two fun skirts that are a little tight but will be perfect when I reach goal and for the spring.

I love the colors of this and the cut.  I loved this silhouette when I was thinner and can’t wait to be at goal and feel sassy in this….

IMG_0969

Love the navy blue and white graphic print here and nothing better than a straight skirt. I love how casual this one is and look forward to rocking this one…

IMG_0968

Last is this Ann Taylor black dress with a cute little tie-waist detail that stepped it up just  a bit.  This neckline is the higher than I currently wear, but there is a reason I wanted it this time.

IMG_0970

IMG_0971

These bubble necklaces I purchased from Ebay is the reason I didn’t mind the neckline on the above dress.  Can’t wait to find ways to style these delights..

IMG_0976

Gratitude: I am grateful for my oldest son who cleaned up the kitchen.  I am grateful to my three youngest children who all thanked me profusely for cooking up  my BBQ chicken, bacon, cheddar with a slice of tomato sandwich…. I ate it without the bread…I am grateful that I listened to my gut and went into the JCPenney store to check for the shoes I ordered online and they cancelled, as I am now able to surprise my oldest son with the shoes he dreamed of and thought he was not going to get….

Dear Readers I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and come back to visit on Monday when I will show you pictures of what I wore to my husband’s Christmas Party!

I have attempted to wear leggings several times and the silhouette has not gone over well with some foreign women on a forum I use.  I thought if the shirt was long enough to cover my behind that it could work, but they feel it needs to be longer.  Finding longer tunics has been a problem.  So, when I ran across this too short dress I thought I would try this look….

IMG_0955I really love the colors in this print and felt it had a retro vibe.  I am also debuting one of my lucky finds this week instead of waiting until tomorrow to include it in my weekly post.  My jean jacket was a classic cut and not as flattering as this one with all the right seams to create curves. Remember to stop by tomorrow to see the rest of  My Lucky Finds for the week.

IMG_0957I think this is the perfect Mom on the Go outfit.  I love flat boots for running errands and am so glad they are in style right now.  I hope that doesn’t change.  Women need flat options.  I also just love all the prints that can be found out there to really spark interest in an outfit.  While I like wearing scarfs to add interest, I also love using prints in dresses, skirts and tops to do the same.

IMG_0962So three major pieces of this outfit are all thrifted, the purse, dress and jacket.  The total for all three pieces is just $12.50.  I have to say I am completely addicted to thrift store shopping and am not going again to after the holidays.  I hope I don’t have withdrawals…

Gratitude: I am grateful for actually sleeping in today and getting a full 8 hours instead of the 5 or 6, I have been getting.  I am grateful that I found the resolve to really take my exercise up a notch at the perfect time with all the holiday stress.  I am grateful for the legacy of giving my mother instilled in me and in turn I am instilling in my children.

Dear Readers do you have a fashion addiction?  How do you indulge?  How do you resist?  Anyone have any other ideas on how to style this floral dress? Chime in, I would love to hear from you!

When I put together outfits to photograph, I try them all on and think I am set for the week.  Then I go look at the photos and I am not always pleased with the results.  There really is something so different from the way things look in the mirror and what a camera lens reveals.  How can they be so different?  I am just grateful for this experience and what I am learning from dong this blog.   While I don’t dislike the above outfit.  It is not spectacular.  I love the dress and the jean jacket is one of my favorite pieces.  I think that the dress is in such subtle shades and the jacket helps.  Would love my dear readers to give their views here, just be gentle and kind as it is really hard to put yourself out here like this….Any suggestions to take this to a different more lovable level?

I was really fond of this outfit in the mirror, but think the sweater is one I should hold off on until I lose some more weight.  I think it doesn’t show my curves at all and over emphasizes my bust… This skirt and sweater are ones I thrifted and intended to use as my body shrinks, so will revisit this combo in the next two months….   I really think it has potential… The best part of this photo and why I didn’t just ditch this picture is my purse.  It is a Dooney and Burke, given to me by a good friend.  She asked me if this was my first Dooney and I replied that it will probably be my only one.

I just don’t spend lots of money on purses… Remember I am a stay at home mother of four.  There are a lot better ways to spend that kind of money.  For example contacts for my  16 year old, shoes for my 21 year old daughter in college, pants for my growing 12 year old or even a night out at the movies for my two youngest, my husband and I, not to mention taking my 12 year old homeschooler to the Aquarium.    All real expenses that were very recent…

The great thing is that I don’t feel at all deprived for not spending hundreds of dollars on a single purse.  I am so blessed in my life and that is just something that has never really mattered to me.  Gasp, I know what kind of fashionista am I?  A passion for clothes and a love for styling them is all it takes to be a fashionista  and I have an infectious love of both those.

Gratitude- I am grateful to all my children who are open and share themselves with me.  I am grateful for the breakdown with my son’s theater group that opened up a discussion that allowed me to heal him and bring us closer…

Comments are appreciated, my apologies that you have to return to the top of this post to do so, I would move it to the bottom, but couldn’t find out how….

Tomorrow is A Lucky Find Day with my purchases of the week,  mostly thrifted items…!
