Today’s GYPO FAll Challenge Inspiration was all

about an orange sweater.

I love the color orange for Fall and wear it often with browns,

But it works well with a classic Blue Jean shade.

I was so excited to debut my wonderful addition to Fall ,

this Guiliana sweater that I bought over the summer and the Liz Lange Tunic

that I found on clearance and is now sold out.

I love the mulit media sweater with the faux suede feel that has a snakeskin print.

My husband came home this afternoon for a break and couldn’t stop touching it, it really is softer than you’d expect.

This Sweater comes in 7 colors and is $29.95 and available in sizes up to 3x.

I always adore Rachel Zoe’s outfits where she pairs tunic tops and

bootcut jeans and love how this outift made me feel.

I’ve had these Levi’s jeans forever.

Rachel Zoe always wear her bootcuts dragging on the ground and from a stylist view,

that is the right way to rock the look.

I on the other hand love being able to showcase my beloved Orange pumps from

Payless’s Comfort Plus line that I bought last season.

DSC_1842

I loved putting one side of my hand behind my ear, to really showcase

my gold hoop earrings, which I wear quite often.

Dear Readers, Today, I didn’t have to Fake Fall today as it was in the high 60’s and windy today.

Of course that was due to the hurricane , but we are due to get back into the 80’s by Wednesday.

Funny thing is that Wednedsay is homeschool bowling day and I dress like Fall anyway, as it’s cold in that alley!

I do wonder how I will manage the Fall Challenge with these hotter temps.

I never did a Fall one of these before because last year I was in Ireland at this time!

I have packed away my sandals and will take advantage of wearing pumps and flats with bare feet these next weeks until I unpack the boots and go full on with them….

So Dear Readers, Are you packing away Summer and getting out Fall, or are you already all the way into Fall already?

Gratitude

I am grateful that my husband popped in this afternoon for a fun break from my homeschooling mom day.

I am grateful that my son got back on track despite the interruption and finished his goals for the day.

I am grateful for Kiniesology tape and the relief it is going to give DH from a pulled back muscle.

I am grateful that my friend’s daughter is finally living her dream of doing acting and dancing with our local Hurrah players and will be in the Wizard of Oz this weekend.

I am grateful that my husband got off work early and asked us to a quick dinner and movie night. My teen homeschooler loved , The Martian, an excellent movie in all our books and he is so picky…

I have had a wonderful love affair with my red-orange jeans

and was wondering how much longer I would be able to keep this going

without being completely off trend…

IMG_2512

In today’s pairing I chose to feature my new sweater from Kohl’s that

I used a gift card that my oldest gave me to purchase…

I am also featuring the cloche hat that style guru Angie Cox from You Look Fab,

recommended I try out to add to my hat collection.

Gucci Pre-Fall 2015 - Collection - Gallery - Style.com

This is a pin from Angie Cox’s board from Gucci’s Pre-Fall 2015 Collection…

I know this color is a true orange, but that doesn’t deter me at all..

This excited me that my love affair will continue strong through next winter …

Truth be told I would have kept going with my jeans through next season anyway…

IMG_2513

I even celebrated by heading for a walk to the store to get orange lipstick..

Last time I wore this hat, my kids teased me about being like Mary Poppins…

I prefer to think of myself as more like Mary from Downton Abbey…

Note to self:  after using flour to make calzones, check your outfit before photographing…

IMG_2515

Wearing my Diane Gilman Red-orange Jeans was a wake up call for me today…

I’ve gained weight and they are tight on me… I really need to get my eating back on schedule..

It seems like I’ve been saying that since returning from Ireland, but not really following through..

After my kids head back to college on Sunday, I am going

to go grocery shopping to stock up on things to keep me on track..

I will go into more detail next week of exactly what my eating healthier looks like…

Gratitude

I am grateful that the Calzones turned out well and that my children all greatly appreciated my efforts.

I am grateful that I made plenty and will not have to cook dinner tomorrow..gotta love left over nights..

I am grateful that tonight is trash and recycling night, as with Christmas and kids home, both recycling cans and trash were Full…I am also grateful to my two youngest for taking on the duty of stuffing the last bits from the house today into those cans.

I am grateful for these last days with my children and the fun we have even making a late night Walmart run…

I am grateful that as I type this my three children all sitting behind me on the couches watching Divergent, it’s rare to find movies that they all like and are appropriate for the youngest…

Last week I asked which Pinterst Inspirations you liked

to see which one to do next and here it is..

IMG_1834

I had to add a necklace to my look….

I am very fond of creating a long vertical line with necklaces or scarves…

For a curvy woman , it’s a wonderful styling trick…

IMG_1841

Notice my hair in the wind….

It was a cold and windy 40 degrees..
I braved it without my customary hat, but that didn’t last long…

I walked to the grocery store shortly after the photos and put on a hat and a long warm coat….

IMG_1849

I knew that chunky sweaters were going to be big this season…

So I scored this Liz Claiborne from JCP online over the summer on clearance…

I love getting another chance to wear my newest investment purse…

It’s by Gili via QVC and can be found here

IMG_1847

This was a perfect Mom on the Go look for my busy day…

The original had black leggings, but I chose to wear my Old Navy Pants found here

and the chambray shirt is Old Navy as well…

I have to say I really like the addition of the cognac boots in this look as another color…

I typically struggle to add a fourth color into outfits, so love that Pinterest advanced my style..

Gratitude

I am so grateful to my son’s friends at college who went above and beyond to make his Birthday day special…

I am grateful that my son called to share how his suite and hall mates had surprised him with a balloon filled room and Large Nicholas Cage picture and assorted quotes…. apparently they planned this for over a month!

I am grateful that when doing PT on this cold morning that they ended it early and that my son decided he needs gloves for next time….

I am grateful that when my Mom gene kicks in and I call  my college son and ask if he is wearing a hat during morning PT, that he laughs with me and is never irritated ….

I am grateful that homeschooling went smoothly today and that he is on track and taking responsibility for keeping up the schedule…

From this morning until when I took my photos at 5pm,

we had rain drop a falling…

As any good blogger does, I took photos anyway…

IMG_1294

Not the best photos, but here you go…

Today was homeschool bowling, so this was perfect casual look.

I am wearing my Old Navy pixie pants again. love them..

Did I mention they have a lot of stretch????

IMG_1301

I bought this Joe Fresh sweater over the summer and was happy to wear it..

I love this belt I thrifted and this is the one belt i am going to take to Ireland.

You can’t see well, but I am wearing my Ying/Yang necklace again…

IMG_1302

My jacket is a lace bomber jacket and for the life of me, I forget where I picked it up…

Dear Readers,  I didn’t even mind the rainy day because it meant a second day of layering…I am so excited about the cooler temps, but am limited in my selections as I have not unpacked Fall clothing and don’t anticipate that I will do so in the next 10 days prior to going to Ireland… I did however amass quite a few new items for the season and will have fun wearing those right away..

I ordered these from No More Rack .com for keeping my boots standing upright ,

once I get them all unpacked and ready for the season.

Gratitude

I am grateful for a fun day meeting a new homeschooling mom and chatting.

I am grateful for a secular group of mother’s to discuss homeschooling.

I am grateful that my son had a great time and is fitting in well with this group.

I am grateful that my husband is no longer outside measuring in rainy days like this and my worry about him is over.

I am grateful that my 14 year old photographer didn’t even balk at taking my photos with a steady rain falling down on us.

Yes, our temperatures fell enough that with the clouds and winds,

I couldn’t just wear my light weight sweatshirt and went back in to grab my jean jacket

IMG_1281

I’ve been waiting to wear this new sweatshirt from H&M that I bought over the summer for clearance pricing.

I love the white jeans  with the blues..

IMG_1284

I love this bumpy textured yarn mixed with silver bits…

I went from owning no sweatshirts to now owning three or four…

You’v gotta love these mixed media pieces that are on trend along with the sporty trend…

IMG_1286

I chose the simple Avon  tassel necklace to just add a vertical line down the middle.

I like that styling trick and use it often..

I also threw a headband on today with the winds it worked well…

IMG_1293

It felt great to wear layers and heels!

Today’s temps match what the temperatures in Ireland have been recently..

I am loving my Just Fab purses, I’ve never been one to spend a lot on purses, so these work well for me..

Not that I don’t love my Dooney & Bourke…

Dear Readers, It’s going to be a tough time trying to homeschool these last days before our trip.

12 days and counting….Well 11 by the time I post this…

My head is just not in the homeschooling right now and my son is trying to take advantage of that…

It’s not a big deal with the semester college type courses he’s taking for high school as we can just take longer to finish them…

Who cares if we are done by January and moving on to all new classes?

There’s a lot of pressure as a homeschooling mother to prove our children are soaring, but why ?

In my case he was making great grades in Public School , but struggling in reading and writing….

I’ve already done better than they did, with him now reading high school appropriate books.

Your turn, What do you stress yourself about needlessly, does writing your thoughts on it help set you straight?

Gratitude

I am grateful for blogging as sometimes I don’t know where each post will lead, It was nice to write that out about homeschooling and realize I stress myself out needlessly!

I am grateful that my husband called just recently to report another successful day.

I am grateful that my husband is doing so well with this job since he resigned from the management position.

I am grateful for the chaos that caused him to resign, as he is more profitable and less stressed.

I am grateful that my daughter and I booked her flights for a wedding where she is a bridesmaid for her friend and for her to come home for Thanksgiving.

I am chomping at the bit to wear Fall clothing…

I bought a few pieces off season over the summer that are just calling my name…

Since I am in air conditioning, I can sport this , despite our warm temps…

IMG_1242

I bought this sweater at Burlington by Cable & Gauge

My pants are brand new as well, Old Navy, Pixie Pants..

IMG_1248

My purse and shoes are different darker shades of green than the brighter color of the sweater…

I bought these heels last September for my birthday…

They still have them at Metrostyle

IMG_1250

It felt nice to rebel and wear Fall clothing, but it was warm taking photos.

Dear Readers, I am 5ft 3in ,but wear regular length pants.. I however have shorter arms and really do better with petite tops. I don’t like limiting myself to that, but think I might see about taking some much loved pieces and have the tailor shorten them.. This sweater my be the first one in the pile as I really don’t want it to be tunic length…Yet another project for after Ireland…

Gratitude

I am grateful that my son is so patient in being my blog photographer.

I am grateful that I got a step ahead today and wrote a white board of all the things my youngest needs to do on a daily basis while I am away..

I am grateful my oldest lives nearby and will move home for a few weeks, allowing us the freedom to go to Ireland.

I am grateful that my walks are still going well and that I enjoy them so much! ( I even run the last block)

I am grateful for the wonderful smells from my kitchen as the roast is cooking..

I am grateful for my wonderful family and the love we share.

Here is take two of the Olive vest that I coveted and finally ordered from Kohl’s

IMG_0813

I knew after wearing this with a skirt, that my next pairing was going to be with this polk a dot dress thrifted dress.  While on the topic of thrifting, the purse and shoes are also thrifted.. Great example of merging thrifted items with new purchases.

IMG_0818

This outfit has that perfect blend of lady-like feel with the stiletto heels and the ruffled bottom on the dress to make me feel like dancing.

Even better is the Ying?Yang feeling I so crave to balance the lady-like features , provided by the more masculine utility vest.

IMG_0823

When I get that blend of femininity and masculinity going in my outfit, is when I feel the most like myself.  I worried about how to make this work for warmer months and really love this look.  “I really nailed it” is what keeps coming to mind.  If only I could feel this good in every look I create.

IMG_0810

I am a stay at home mother, so this look isn’t practical for my every day life, but  whenever I can this is the real me, not a role I play!

Dear Readers, Do you have a signature combo that you put together that makes you feel most like your insides match your outsides?  If so, what is it and how do you create it?  I so embrace both the fact that I am a strong, confident  woman with my sassy, yet sophisticated  feminine side.  I hope you all had a wonderful holiday, did you do anything special?

Gratitude

I am grateful that my husband had July 4th off!

I am gratefult that the guys went go-carting, to golf driving range and then we met up for dinner and the movie “Now You See Me”, a full day of fun!

My husband and I are both surprised and grateful that we were all on the same page about our day’s activities and skipping the fireworks,

I am grateful that today, July 5th  is my daughter’s 22nd birthday today and  for the chance to celebrate her.

I am grateful to my husband for reinstating our nightly walks (when he gets home early enough) and combined with two on my own, that’s 4 walks in three days and I am feeling it.

So Tuesday is my Weight Watcher meeting and Weigh In… I mentioned that I had gained over two pounds overnight and was surprised by that on Monday morning… For the weigh in I was up exactly one pound from the previous weigh in…So no complaints here…

IMG_0786

I have been very frustrated with this last part of the weight loss journey, as I had told myself I didn’t want to be as thin as I had been before I began gaining.  I see pictures and didn’ t like how thin my face was.  I am now a size 6 and in many brands, I can wear a size 4 as well.  So somebody please help me understand why that is the highest acceptable weight for my height?… Why when I used the Navy’s military BMI calculator that I was in the acceptable range, but just .3 away from obese? …this one asked for lots of measurements including your neck…I just want to be at a place where I feel healthy and that I can maintain for the rest of my life…

IMG_0790

Just needed to vent about that.. I do want to be more in the middle of the healthy requirements for my height and will do so, but had to get real and mad about the fact that I will be a size 4 by goal weight and be shopping for all new clothes… or mostly new bottoms…Quite  Frankly, I have been pouting… That ends today!

IMG_0794

I am going to kick it in to gear by joining the YMCA next week.  I loved the membership we had before and went three times a week doing all water exercizes and loving it… I did 2.5 to 3 hours in the pool three times a week… I am a lover of exercise, more so for strength training than cardio.  I have been doing well with strength training at home, but need the Y for the cardio because ,although I love exercize, I hate to sweat… so back to the pool I go…Should lose these last pounds pretty quickly…

IMG_0789Love this thrifted skirt and silhouette.  The top is by Chadwicks’ bought two years ago, back then diddn’t fit , but hey I prepared ahead for this weight loss… Shoes from Payless last year and Purse is by Liz Claiborne NY for QVC.  I would so wear skirts everday if that didn’t get boring fast and let’s face it , if you’ve been following my blog at all , you can tell I love to vary silhouettes.

Dear Readers, I have really let my weight loss journey stall for more months than I care to confess, but am done pouting and ready to lose those last pounds and move on with it.  I am just so grateful to be where I am now and to have had the success and support to get this far! I appreciate the support I receive here from you all as well. Thank You!   I also want to thank those who commented about my missing my mother and sharing their own journeys of Dementia and Alzheimer’s!

Gratitude

I am grateful to my niece for taking my photos today, trying to fit it in between the rain showers!

I am grateful for my WW meeting, leader and the contributions members make by sharing their stories .

I am grateful to my friend Sue, for the company and rides to meetings as well as being my partner in crime (thrifting) Going to miss you these next two weeks while you are out of town.

I am grateful to my daughter for her kindess to my niece and talking her through the Xbox game!

I am grateful to my youngest for joining her and playing the game and even letting her win!!!

I am grateful to my husband who is home early tonight for asking me to join him in a Power Walk, which I am going to go do Right Now! ( Went for  an hour and felt great, perfect cooler temp!)
