Wednesday I went to my son’s homeschool bowling, popped home for a quick bowl of plain greek yogurt and peaches for lunch
before heading out to use my Movie Pass for the first time!
$9.95 a month and my first movie was $9.05.
I chose “Forever My Girl”, one of those movies I would love but DH would not, lol
It was a cute story and I adored all the fabulous music throughout.
I wore my Amelia James Olive Aleyska Sweater Again, Lol
It was so tough to see the pictures and my weight gain, but it is my reality
and good for motivation. I feel like so much of myself has been lost these past
14 months of mourning, but am starting to slowly find my way back to being me.
A busy day and weeks means multi-tasking and I did just that…
I was talking on speakerphone to my 22 year old who is in college in Richmond.
I have been wearing these Aerosoles boots a lot lately and am in complete awe of their comfort.
I bought them last season , but did not wear them much and was disappointed to not find them still available for sale….
I am thinking next season I may need to stalk another pair of comfortable wedge version…
Follow this week to join my page and join me for a night of fun!
I am in a bit of a pickle with starting this business to soon after my sister passed and am trying to get myself
out of it, I have joined a group to learn more about Social Media for businesses and am having a clearance of
winter items tomorrow at 7:30 pm EST to see if I can sell of the winter items and not be stuck with that inventory
while I work on building my following to have better success in Spring and Summer!
Join me and share with friends, to help me sell these and generate funds to keep going with new fresh inventory.
Gratitude
I am grateful for the time spent with my youngest and his bowling.
I am grateful for my dearest friend giving me such a glowing review and asking her friends to support my business.
I am grateful for all the online supportive women in business who all support each other.
I am grateful that when my husband came home late last night with a friend from out of town to spend the night,
that I slept right through , their apparent loud talking that my children heard….
White Before Memorial Day…

I’ve been out for a few days with a painful stye,
nursing the swollen mess with hot cloths .
Four days and that’s now gone, but yesterday the huge
swings in our temperatures from the storm messed up my
sinuses leaving me with a sore throat and low-grade fever.
Not much getting dressed going on these past few days…
I wore this outfit last Friday night when I went out with
a friend to dinner and a play.
I joked with my teen son about wearing white shoes before memorial day,
when I explained that use to be a hard and fast rule for my mother and grandmother’s
generation, he laughed and said it sounded ridiculous.
I wore my new necklace, I bought recently from Jane.com
My white shoes I bought new for this season from Amazon
You can find them HERE
Gratitude
I am grateful that despite my not feeling very well, that I have managed to continue my pilates exercizes every other day, and in fact it helped me get rid of the kink in my shoulder.
I am grateful that after one very painful day , that the remaining two days of the stye were better.
I am grateful that I felt well enough despite my sore throat and sinus issues today to get my winter items packed away and out of site, although I still have to put all my boots away.
I am grateful that my bank gave back the money from the stupid website that hijacked onto my reservations for my daughter’s graduation.
Loving My Isaac Leather!
Posted March 6, 2016
on:After searching for 3 years for the perfect black leather jacket and finally finding it,
I am trying to get in a few more wearrings of it before the warmer temperatures
arriive and make that impossible.
With the quilt detainling of this Isaac Mizrahi leather jacket,
I am loving it with a solid top rather than my love of prints.
On Qvc the color listed for this jacket is Dark Charcoal and also comes in Grove Green
A closer look at the quilting detail of this beloved jacket.
My purple top and purse are both by Iman via Hsn .
The top can be found HERE in several colors.
My purse is also in several colors and can be found HERE
I bought these beautiful earrings from TJ maxx in both purple and green ,
they are no longer available and I am so glad I scored these.
My necklace was a gift from a
Style Sister for the Christmas
Gift Exchange
My Jeans are Diane Gilman, I feel like a broken record about her jeans,
but love them and these Flared button detailed onessold out .
HERE is what the line currently has available.
Dear Readers, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. My house is full as it’s Spring Break time.
I am loving it and the time , laughter, joking and fun.
I will spend a lot of this week sewing my daughter’s costume for her Anime convention in Boston.
Gratitude
I am grateful for time as a family and seeing the light in the eyes of my youngest , to have his siblings home.
I am grateful that I thought to call a family meeting and plan out this weeks menu with input from everyone on ideas of something they love, but don’t make themselves.
I am grateful for the help of my husband in helping to create the pattern for our daughter’s costume , as he is much more detailed and precise and perfect for the job. I love that my daughter has us all wanting to help with her costume.
I am grateful for the anticipation and fun leading up to our going to the Jimmy Buffet concert in April. I hope I don’t regret taking my almost 16 year old on this zany party event…
Today’s Challenge was Pinterest Inspiration
and I had just recently pinned this Jennifer Aniston one.
I adore her style and have quite often admire outfits on Pinterest.
It’s fun to actually put one together, finally…
I’ve had this scarf for a few seasons and love it against the all black background.
If you are regular reader, you may notice I am not much for dressing all over in black.
I quite often love all black looks but don’t feel like they are me, so having the purple scarf was
just enough color to still feel like myself.
My Faux leather moto jacket , can be found here in several colors.
I could have gone with a black purse, but
why would I when I own this fabulous Joy & Iman one?
It comes in several colors, but I think this Purple one is incredible!
One of the easiest ways to bump up a look is in a fabulous handbag and I think
I have more than made up for my past of not carrying a purse.
You see as a mother of four who spread her kids out 4 1/2 years apart,
I carried a diaper bag around for many years and gave up a purse….
My Dear Husband put up with my lipsticks and Id in his pockets
on many a date night back in those days, lol
Self Care
I think taking double dose of sinus meds and making it out to homeschool bowling counts as self care.
I had spent the past several days with headaches and actually am pinching myself that I had relief today…
I also planned our next Parent’s Night Out Event and Let me tell you that is definitely self care as we all need those nights
and have come to look forward to it…
Gratitude
I am beyond grateful that my son got out of his funk today and had a wonderful time bowling today, he even got a better score than he’s had all this season ….
I am grateful that my brother stopped by last night and I got to hug him before he went to coincidentally spend his birthday in Cancun for a work reward trip.
I am grateful for a phone call with my son away at college and that he talked to his younger brother as well.
Shades of Purple
Posted January 6, 2016
on:I’ve been so lacking in inspiration these past few weeks in styling outfits,
but this one feels like a success!
I added this fabulous Gili Leather jacket over the Summer as my one big splurge.
I broke my no self imposed no buying to acquire these lavender cords from Loft
as they were 70 % off , making them less than $12.
My Liz Claiborne NY blouse via qvc can be found here .
I adore this line by QVC and here is a link to other tops in this line.
The scarf was again to protect myself from the winter temperatures, and I think fit in very nicely.
It just hit me that this entire outfit is pieces I bought online new for the season.
The purse is still available in this purple shade, but also comes in several other colors , here
I am very happy that I added these pieces to my wardrobe as I love all shades of purple.
Today in Self Care Today
I added a greens powder found here to my morning smoothie . My husband has been taking for a few months now, I dofind this a bit expensive and am researching other options for when we run out.
I also took a short walk today and changed into walking shoes.
If any of my Dear Readers likes the idea of my new Self Care notes, please share one thing you did today for your own Self Care! I’d love to hear from you !
Gratitude
I am grateful for starting my blog three years ago and for how much writing these gratitudes daily have improved my state of happiness.
I am grateful for my son’s homeschool bowling group and chatting with my favorite parents.
I am grateful that my son willingly cooperated in going to the additional bowling clinic later this afternoon and for how much this boosts his confidence.
I am grateful to the bowling trainer sending home a training tool to help fix an issue with his hand movement that is precenting him in getting his performance ball to curve.
I am grateful for a fun conversation with the homeschooling league coach and the idea to do a fundraiser that will allow them to buy some training tools.
I am grateful for yet another call from my daughter, I could talk to her every day on her walk back to her apartment.
I am grateful for the winter weather and the inspiration to get back to blogging.

I had a lot of fun with this look…
Boho Fun that is!
A floppy hat like this is very on trend for the Fall Season.
I’ve seen them all over the mall, most recently Old Navy in fun colors of olive and burgundy.
Here’s my new boho vest that I am absolutely loving.
I can see so many ways to style this for most seasons.
It will be great with long sleeve dresses for Fall.
My top is an Issac Mizrahi peplum found HERE, he’s added a long sleeve version to his line HERE
My necklace is actually a pin that was my mother’s and I wear whenever I want to feel close to her.
My leather hobo handbag is from QVC’s GILI line and is sold out, but HERE are their current hobo bags.
My Flare Jeans are by Diane Gilman,
If you are a regular reader you know this is my go to designer for jeans.
The best thing about buying jeans from this line is the versatility of sizes..
They come in Petie, Regular, Tall and Plus Regular, Plus Petite and Plus Tall.
In Fact a lot of QVC designers have these size options.
Gratitude
I am grateful that I was feeling much better today.
I am grateful that Unisom is working to help me get sleep and beating that darn menopausal issue.

Have You tried the Soft Pants Trend?
They are so comfortable that some bloggers are calling them PJ pants..
I embraced this last year and added two new pairs for this season
Last year I had print versions, this year I added solids.
This pair is from Kate & Mallory a line from Evine that I am loving recently.
These Pants are on clearance right now for just $9.97 and only have size small, then 1x, 2x and 3x left.
I am wearing the medium and I got both colors.
They have a high waistline , but for my petite size, I think this works well.
I can wear these with flat sandals, by simply rolling the waistband over and putting my shirt completely untucked instead of the half- tuck pictured here.
We had a windy day, which was fun when I saw how it caught my kimono sleeve.
I bought this one years ago and love it as it has so many colors that make it very versatile.
Like my newest shoes??
These are the most comfortable wedges I have ever owned and I am buying my daughter a pair!
Dear Readers, after two weeks of dealing with sciatic pain, I am much better today…
I am sporting Kinesiology Tape today and have to say, I am loving this!
I was so pain free that I wore the wedges, of course when I went grocery shopping I changed to flats..
My Petite friends I am sure you are wondering how I did that with these pants?
Well, I just rolled the waistband and un- tucked my shirt.
Gratitude
I am grateful that my husband thought of the KT tape for my sciatica and woke up early enough to apply it for me today.
I am grateful that my two college kids are home and the fun and laughter we’ve had the last few days.
I am grateful that I have hope of being pain free for my Vegas trip coming up Saturday!
I am grateful for the delight my daughter has been having with my lighter hair color, she keeps calling it blond. All my children are blond like their father, so seeing this in her brunette mother is a treat!
I am grateful for the wonderful Mother’s Day and time with my adult children, I have so missed them!
I am grateful that I picked out paint, and a new vanity and counter to get the bathroom finished!

What a Very Busy Day…
It all began with my Hair Appointment..
I love the color and can’t wait to play with styling the cut…
It will only look like this when my stylist does, it!
Here is what I wore for my hair appointment.
A lace tunic top with an A-line shape, perfect to hide my back brace, lol…
After, my hair appointment, I went to my son’s private bowling lesson.
I love watching him take instruction and apply it successfully.
I changed into white straight leg jeans for my evening activity of Parent’s Night Out dinner.
I liked this as a fun Mom on the Go look.
Dear Readers, I love going to the hair stylist, because the people who work there are all very creative, artist types and I love seeing how they all dress… Today I saw everything from Maxi dresses to a look close to mine black and white look from yesterday… I also noticed two girls wearing fun Kimonos. One girl was wearing her’s with black Palazzo pants similar to ones i bought recently. It struck me as so funny since I had tried mine on yesterday and paired them with a kimono style jacket.
What can I say, it felt good to see such a similar look on a girl at the salon?
Do you have a favorite place to look at outfits of people in your area? If so, share where and what you’ve seen recently that excited or inspired you.
Gratitude
I am grateful for a fun new haircut just in time for the Season!
I am grateful for the pain relief I am getting from the Tens Unit for my sciatica.
I am grateful for a phone call from my daughter, who is so ready to come home this weekend, as she is finishing her semester and only sleeping 3 hours a night due to completing her final assignments(papers instead of exams).
I am grateful that my husband liked my haircut, he wishes I had longer hair, so a compliment is a good thing…
I am grateful for Parent’s Night Out and coming home to an empty house, since my husband had come home early and taken our youngest out for dinner and a movie!
Black & White is Always Right…
Posted May 5, 2015
on:Today I went for a classic black and white Outfit,
that was comfortable and easy for another day of sciatica and
wearing a back brace.
This is a new pop over version blouse from Kate & Mallory via Evine.
It was on clearance for $9.99 , so is now sold out…
My capris are linen from Old Navy found here.
My leather flower sandals are last year’s from BJ’s , but they have them again this season.
Say good-bye to this hair as I am getting a cut and color with highlights tomorrow…
Just in time for my Vegas trip in less than two weeks!
Wish I had worn shorter earrings these are too much with the necklace.
Speaking of the necklace, you can find it here in a set with a bracelet,
that I like because I use it to extend the necklace.
I loved the ease of linen pants and a loose fitting top today.
I must say, my dear readers that today is the best day I’ve had yet with pain from the sciatica,
so perhaps I am on the upswing to healing.
I sure hope so!
Dear Readers, Today I began the end of year testing for my homeshooler and have to say the stress over testing doesn’t even exist for us any more…. I guess with three solid years of experience and knowing that he excels in math and has a wonderful vocabulary as well as strong foundation for punctuation and grammar. With our college children coming home this weekend, we are finishing things up, though he will be homeschooling year round since our year has been a mess with my Ireland trip, and the other children coming home for vacations… We learned a lot this year and recognize that most of the school year gets done by Christmas and that worked with our schedule with college kids in the picture. So, no more month long vacations for me in October, lol….
Gratitude
I am grateful for a huge reduction in my sciatic pain today,
I am grateful my husband bought a fabulous Tens Unit while in Vegas, and it really did help with my pain!
I am grateful for the fun and anticipation this week of my two away at college being home this weekend. Anticipation of events is almost as fabulous as the actual event….
I am grateful that my husband installed a new dishwasher for me last night!

This is what I wore yesterday for the homeschool bowling ,
now that the parents are done for the season, I can wear whatever I want!
I have to say I loved the pink bag for a pink and purple look…
One thing I know about myself is that although I’ve made such great progress in my style.
and have totally succeeded in pattern matching and trying new silhouettes,
and perfecting a wonderful wardrobe for my lifestyle.
One thing that has held strong with me and seems to be the hardest to break is bringing in
an extra pop of color with shoes or handbags.
That matchy-match gene is strong in me….
I am so excited about finally replacing a white denim jacket.
Since my weight loss it’s been a missing piece for me that I longed to replace.
This cropped version by One World is so right for my petite height
and I am so glad I waited for the right one.
Dear Readers, I bought one item for my upcoming Vegas trip…
I couldn’t help myself!
This is a Joan Rivers from QVC, and I am going to style it
with a plain black dress that converts from a dress to a skirt.
That is going to be my outfit for the Neil Diamond Concert…
I actually loved this jacket in the black version, too..
Gratitude
I am grateful for the fun and anticipation of the Vegas trip and quality time with my husband.
I am grateful for the anticipation that in just two weeks I will have my college kids home!
I am grateful for a wonderful conversation with my best friend, as we haven’t talked much lately…
I am grateful for the fun of the homeschooling group each Wednesday, it truly is a Godsend to a homeschooling mother of a strong willed teenager..
