Pink and Purple for Spring

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter Weekend!
Our weather took a cold turn with rain, so it was a nice
chance to break out one of my leather jackets.
I orginally took this shot without my glasses, but in order to indulge my
photographer who thinks my glasses add character,
I happily put them back on and posed again.
Love that kid of mine!
For a few months, I had misplaced my camera and recently found it in the back pocket
of my purple purse. After recharging the battery, my son couldn’t wait to take my photos,
even making me wait for him to get dressed when his father was right there willing to take my pictures.
I love how invested he is in my blogging journey!
My husband hadn’t noticed this Gili leather jacket despite my having worn it before.
He actually complimented it three times , once when he first saw me in it, once when we were at
the grocery store and again when we got home as I took it off to get cooking dinner.
It’s currently on sale in several colors for $109 on QVC with payments of just $18.16 available.
I am wearing a size 10 in this line, which was perfect as the arms fit snug,
so an 8 would have been too tight.
My Liz Claiborne NY blouse, which I absolutely love, is the opposite
and runs big as I am wearing an xs and it’s not tight on my 34DDD chest.
You can’t see it very well, but I am also wearing a Halston Belt from QVC ,which I recently bought in a size xs/s , as I didn’t want it long enough to have to tie it in a bow.
Jeans are wonderful bootcuts by Diane Gilman and a great weight for Spring/Summer.
Purse by JOY & IMANfrom Hsn as well.
My Peep toe booties are last year’s from Payless.
Gratitude
I am grateful my daughter used her boyfriend’s cell phone to call me Saturday night after her Anime conference to share with me all that happened and how much fun she had. Her own phone is shutting off and messing up.
I am grateful that my husband took our son to see Batman Vs Superman movie, allowing me a rare night at home alone.
I am grateful for all the texts I received from my siblings on Easter and the one my sister shared where she had made a donation to church in memory of our parents and their names were printed in the bulletin.
I am grateful for a fun evening of cooking Easter dinner together with my husband, as we don’t get to cook together often.
White Before Memorial Day…

I’ve been out for a few days with a painful stye,
nursing the swollen mess with hot cloths .
Four days and that’s now gone, but yesterday the huge
swings in our temperatures from the storm messed up my
sinuses leaving me with a sore throat and low-grade fever.
Not much getting dressed going on these past few days…
I wore this outfit last Friday night when I went out with
a friend to dinner and a play.
I joked with my teen son about wearing white shoes before memorial day,
when I explained that use to be a hard and fast rule for my mother and grandmother’s
generation, he laughed and said it sounded ridiculous.
I wore my new necklace, I bought recently from Jane.com
My white shoes I bought new for this season from Amazon
You can find them HERE
Gratitude
I am grateful that despite my not feeling very well, that I have managed to continue my pilates exercizes every other day, and in fact it helped me get rid of the kink in my shoulder.
I am grateful that after one very painful day , that the remaining two days of the stye were better.
I am grateful that I felt well enough despite my sore throat and sinus issues today to get my winter items packed away and out of site, although I still have to put all my boots away.
I am grateful that my bank gave back the money from the stupid website that hijacked onto my reservations for my daughter’s graduation.

I love Navy and White for Spring and Summer
So , it makes perfect sense for me to add a blue and white
kimono for the season.
Linking up with Turning Heads and I Will Wear What I Like- I Will Wear What I Like-
so go see other fabulous bloggers
My kimono is from TJ Maxx , but is now sold out.
They do still have a fun tropical print one.…
My shoes are new as well from TJ Maxx and almost sold out
Here are some other great shoes at TJ Maxx, right now.
I love a good wedge sandal and really love the height and comfort of this one.
I think I will get a lot of use out of this one.
My photographer, DS 16 wasn’t impressed with my mint tote choice,
but I liked it with the mint necklace.
It’s funny when he gives me his input and doesn’t just go
through the motions of taking my photos.
I took off the kimono and added my patterned trench
for my walk to the store with my rolling cart.
I found this trench several years ago at Sears and my DH
actually went to another location in a nearby city to pick it up in my size.
Gratitude
I am grateful that when I ended up back in bed for a nap, that my son was responsible in doing his homeschooling.
I am grateful for the fun my son and I are having with sign language.
I am grateful for a call from my daughter, it seemed like such a short Spring Break…
I am grateful for the arrival of Spring , and seeing the wild rabbits in the evenings.
I am grateful for my strong faith and the legacy of my parents as today is the anniversary of the day my mother passed on seven years ago.
These Colors Make Me Happy!

We had a very warm 80 degree day,
but this Mom has to dress for the frigid bowling alley on Wedenedays!
The cocoon sweater, olive pants and the purse all are in the same hues and
work beautifully together.
I added the one light element of the shoes to bookend the light shade in the print.
For jewelry I wore the purple and silver tassel necklace my daughter
gave me for Christmas.
My earrings are part of the set I purchased at the Italian Festival
from a Capidimonte Artist.
You can find the Artist’s website, HERE !
After bowling we headed to Walmart to pick up some windshield wipers for my son
and the manager there compliemented my shoes.
I picked them up for a clearance crazy price of $6 from Red Dress boutique.
as one of my off season buys in the Fall of this past year.
Self Care
I took a nap today at 6pm as I was exhausted!
I also told my kids to fend for themselves for dinner, lol!
They are all definitely capable…
Gratitude
I am so grateful for Amazon’s fast shipping as the Dress and shoes for my friend’s daughter arrived today , and I was able to run it to her and had the fun experience of seeing her try it on and squeal in delight and the best part was hearing her say she couldn’t wait to go to the dress rehearsel and tell her friends about it!
I am grateful for my husband’s support in my desires to be “Auntie Tracey” and honor my mother’s giving spirit by helping my dear friend and her daughter.
I am grateful that my husband got his new tires put on his car today and I can now feel confident that he is safe on the roads, with as much driving as he does daily.
I am grateful for oppportunities and exciting things on the horizon, of which I can not really reveal.
I am grateful that after 25 years of marriage that we still reach for each other and don’t take this relationship for granted. We are still a work in progress, lol.
Spring Weather for Today!
Posted March 8, 2016
on:Today was a beautiful , sunny 70 degree day,
who knows what will be around the corner for temps,
I’ll enjoy days like this with zest!
This tunic is actually a F21 junior drsess that I loved for it’s vintage boho vibe.
I love this piece and am glad I thought to buy it despite it’s shortness and turn it into a tunic.
My pointed toe low metallic wedges are a thrifted pair that I’ve worn quite often!
These are my earrings that enhance to the boho outfit.
I found them at Burlington Coat Factory last Spring.
The piping down the middle seperating the prints and the rope belt
are navy, so that is why I choose my Madie Claire tote handbag found HERE.
My regular readers won’t be surpirse that my creme straight leg jeans
are by my favorite jean designer Diane Gilman.
Unfortunately mine are sold out , but HERE is a link to what
is currently available in that line.
Self Care
Today in self care, I’d say heading out for a walk to enjoy the beautiful sunny day was a great thing.
I am working on my daughter’s costume and there is a lot more kitchen clean up going on with
my kids home. The dishwasher is now being run two times a day, lol..
Gratitude
I am grateful that I am kicking menopause’s butt, lol… Sleeping just 4 hours at a time, I have begun getting out of bed for 2 hours, then going back to sleep for another 3 hours. Since I am still up before my homeschooler this is working out just fine!
I am grateful that my son cooked up his wonderful potato soup to add the the dinner I planned of chicken and broccoli.
I am grateful for the team work and time with my daughter to make her costume.
I am grateful that my husband has planned to take Friday afternoon and evening off to hang out with everyone , before our son and daughter head back off to college on Saturday.
I am grateful for a long talk with my dearest friend last night and that I will be seeing her on Sunday when I watch her daughter in “James and the Giant Peach”.
I am grateful that when I asked my dear friend , (single mother) if there was anything she needed that she answered honestly that her daughter needed a red carpet formal dress and shoes by Friday and she was struggling to get one. I ordered one from Amazon with two day shipping and had fun texting pictures and hearing the squeals of her daughter over how much she loved it and can’t wait to deliver it to her Thursday night!

Today’s outfit recommendation for the GYPO Spring Challenge
was colored jeans, black top, cardigan and bright flats…
With such beautiful warm temperatures today, there was no way I wanted to
wear a pair of jeans, so my new soft pants to the rescue.
I recently bought two pairs of these soft pants by Kate & Mallory because I loved them last season in a jogger style and thought why not with just a zippered bottom…
The pants are on clearance for $9.97 and I am wearing the medium.
The Kimono is last season’s from F21 I should have taken a photo to show you the fun oriental print on the back..oops!
Check Out all the Kimonos F21 has this Season Here and page 2 has mine from yesterday…
I used ” Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Moisturizing Spray” for a messier look today..
May 5th I have a hair appointment to get my hair done in something that fits a more messy style, wish me luck…
The necklace I found on Ebay last year.
The combination of a soft pant and kimono is so fun and so comfortable…
I swear besides a maxi skirt, this has to be the most comfortable Spring dressing.
Dear Readers, I hope your weather is beginning to feel like Spring, I know my daughter at Boston College is counting the days until she flies home to really experience the season… I myself am in counting down mode as the next few weeks are going to drag on in anticipation of the family being altogether again…
Gratitude
I am grateful to my oldest for being there today to take us to Connor’s private bolwing lesson.
I am grateful to his coach for giving him a sheet that shows him where to stand for getting Spares at different types of bowling alleys to help him on competition day.
I am grateful that my son got practice with his new ball with the coach this week, before this weekend’s competition.
I am grateful my husband’s flight went well and he arrived in Vegas despite a mix up..
I am grateful to my son for stepping up and making sure the trash got out to the street in his father’s absence.
I am grateful for bowling with the homeschool group to look forward to tomorrow…well today by the time I post this, lol.
White Maxi & Polka Dots

Let’s just say I am by nature a Rebel…
When it comes to certain things and I am finding myself being just that,
when it comes to styling looks for the GYPO Spring Style Challenge
Today’s Outfit formula was white jeans, a sweater, black tank and scarf.
I changed it all around, I couldn’t help myself..
I wanted to finally wear this maxi that I’ve owned for two years and never worn due to it’s sheerness.
I finally got white capri leggings to wear underneath it. so couldn’t pass up the opportunity.
I knew I wanted a printed sweater, so when this when caught my eye this morning, I opted to go for color in my tank.
I’ve had this sweater for several season’s and never tire of it.
Pairing it with the cobalt is a first and all due to the challenge.
Grasping a chance to wear my beloved Ying/Yang necklace of onyx and mother of pearl, made my day.
My purse is one of my finds on Just Fab and the floral wedges are Aerosoles and no longer available.
Every time I wear these wedges I get compliments and hate that they aren’t sold anymore.
I’ve had them for a few seasons and with colors of cobalt, green and red, they are so versatile.
Gratitude
I am so grateful that the bowling alley made good on not ordering the balls last week in order for me to have it before my son’s birthday… He’s now getting a big surprise!
I am grateful to the mother, (Katie) who brought a card for everyone to sign for my son’s b’day at our bowling group today!
I am grateful that I talked to my two middle children away at college today, when this happens I always think, “my cup runneth over”
I am grateful for all the deliveries that arrived today, my shoes for the Spring Challenge, and surprises for my son’s birthday, which is Sunday.

That was my first thought when I let the dog out and felt the temperatures today…
When mother nature is laughing and sneaking in temps in the 40’s and 50’s,
“How does a fashionista respond? “
This one, decided to have fun with an outfit that mimics the mix-up.
Hence the pairing of a very feminine pink with a men’s inspired houndstooth print.
Yep, that’s my sense of humor!
Something only a fashion addict who proclaims style as her artistic expression.
Triple Pinks!
What can I say, “I was nicknamed Pinky” in high school.
Of course those were the days of Pinky Tuscadero
When I put the first layer of this outfit on,with just the sweater, skinny pants and flats,
the silhouette reminded me very much of cigarette pants in the 50’s and 60’s.
Check out Bridgitte Bardot in the 5o’s
I am sure I could have been more creative in a purse choice,
but what’s more fun than a back pack purse in a lovely blush color to cheer a woman up
to face a colder than normal Spring Day….
Dear Readers in another mix up tomorrow is schedule to reach 80, but with rain…
Mother Nature has a real sense of humor….
My sinuses are going to hate this!
Gratitude
I am grateful that I have a wonderful sense of humor and a fun outlet of fashion to lift my spirits.
I am grateful that I had a short chat with my son at college while he is apartment hunting for next year.
I am grateful that my sister in law will finally be going home from the rehab center tomorrow.
I am grateful that our bowling group family that are in St. Croix getting a house ready for sale, will be back in just a few weeks and that she will be attending our next Parent’s Night Out, cause we are missing them!!!!!
I am grateful to the ice cream truck for serenading my photo shoot this afternoon….nothing like taking photos with the neighbor across the street on his porch, the ice cream man and mailman all in attendance…
Floral Pants go Boho

With today, being such a gorgeous spring day, I couldn’t help but embrace it through clothing…
After all fashion is my current artistic expression.
Last Spring I wanted dark floral pants, but never got them as I just never found a pair that sang to me.
This navy version from Ebay sang to me due to the price, since I wasn’t really sure floral pants were going to me something I loved. When it comes to trends I want to try, but am not immediately sold on, I tend to do so very cautiously , spending the least amount of money I can.
I must say that with Asian sizing I bought the XL and they have a lot of stretch. The XL size chart listed it at 37 inches for hips and I am at 39. I might have been able to manage in the Large, especially with my new push to lose weight…
My poncho and necklace were also purchased from Ebay, but last year so not available.
Since the day was so beautiful and my sinus meds had kicked, I decided to take advantage that my homeschooler was off with my husband doing his private bowling lesson, and headed for a walk to the Dollar Tree.
A cross-body purse was in order, so what better one to choose than my Harold Feinstein blue butterfly one, as it is one I bought in remembrance of my mother, who comes to me in butterflies.
I bought mine from QVC, a few years ago and after searching found a few options on Ebay, here.
It was so nice to get out of the house after two days of sitting in my pj’s with sinus issues..
This is typical March for me, where mornings are rough and things get better later in the day.
I am glad I took a chance on these floral pants and really liked them a lot more than I thought I would.
Dear Readers, Have you tried the Floral trend or do you intend to?
Gratitude
I am grateful for a wonderful day of walking in the sunshine and remembering my mother as she was such a big walker.
I am grateful that I started my son on a speed reading course for homeschooling today, in hopes we can increase his speed in the next few years to get him ready for college.
I am grateful for my strong faith and knowing without a doubt that I am here to be a light in this world.
I am grateful for my blog and how much writing this gratitude journal has increased my happiness levels these last few years.

Today’s Inspiration is :
“Young Girl Reading a Book on the Beach”
When I looked at this one,
my first instincts were to create a look with grey and a denim jacket..
Linking up with Visible Monday, Go See What other wonderful bloggers are up to…
I liked the muted shades in this shirt as yet another reflection
of Picasso’s inspiration.
I love this classic denim jacket in the light wash , which I thrifted.
In fact, both of my denim jackets are thrifted….
Looking forward to losing a few more pounds and feeling better in these pants…
Well, my Dear Readers, I have lost a total of 7lbs these last two weeks and am definitely motivated bythat success to continue to my ultimate goal of losing another 20 to get below what I was when I stopped Weight Watchers…It’s only 5 lbs less, but I think I will be much happier to get there to 135 as my goal…The 140 never felt right to me… I just am so frustrated that I let myself gain so much back…I am determined to reach my goal of getting this under control by my 50th birthday in September and to never let it get out of control again…Maintenance really is the hardest part of the journey and I am very determined… Anyone who knows me will agree that I will win this battle once I put my mind to it.
Gratitude
I am grateful for a second week of weight loss success…
I am grateful for a weekend of putting away my heavy coats and taking out and organizing my Spring/Summer items.
I am grateful for the fun of discovering St. Patrick’s Day hats for clearance at my grocery store, where I bought silly hats for the guys and a clover ball gap for me to wear, not just in March…
I am grateful for Spring temperatures and Sunshine.
I am grateful for conversation with my daughter and hearing my stressed out Grad Student, planning to bake a cake from a partner for her group project since they had to schedule on her birthday to work on the project.. Baking is something my daughter loves to do and I know it will make for a break in her stressful schedule..
