As I sit writing this post, I am using my new LG Lucid2 cell phone, my first smartphone… I know I am a little late to the party…I am listening to music I have downloaded specifically Bon Jovi’s “Have a NiceDay”….

IMG_3442

The song epitomizes my attitude towards these cold temperatures threatening to ruin Spring… So I answer back with brights,  Green and Pink!!!  These colors remind me of Izod and the preppy vibe!

IMG_3439

The stripes on this jacket look strange in the pictures, but this close-up shows them nicely..  This jacket is from Chadwicks and like most purchases was a clearance buy last year in preparation for my weight loss. The necklace is glass beads that I purchased last year at Steinmart.   My pink sunglasses were purchased on my Grand Cayman Vacation in February and answer my desire to embrace the statement sunglasses trend for Spring and Summer.   Would love a pair in turquoise in the future…

I so love my pink ballet flats by Aerosoles and the added femininity of the flower…I believe I achieved my goal to say “Have a Nice Day” to the cold temperatures and embrace the vibe of Spring! Can you believe we are getting one day near 80 degrees on Wednesday, then back to the 50’s on Thursday?????

I missed my Weight Watcher meeting today… Quite frankly I needed sleep more than I needed to weigh in… I have been working out hard and dealing with some stress and succeeded in making up for the much needed rest.. I didn’t wake up until almost 11am!!!

Dear Readers, I hope you are all having a great week and thanks for stopping by!  I hope to have brightened your day! Do you ever use  music or fashion to brighten your day?  For me there is nothing better than  an impulsive solitary dance party or great colors in fashion to answer back to life’s stresses.

Gratitude:  I am grateful to have my new smartphone and the fun I am having finding music that has meant so much to my life.  I am grateful that long ago I embraced the philosophy of  “putting my own oxygen mask on first”   and  that I chose sleep over my WW meeting today…  I am grateful to my husband for working so hard to get the bathroom finished before our daughter comes home.

Tuesday’s Food Choices

Breakfast– Protein Bar and 1% milk

Lunch- laughing cow cheese & grapes ( more like a late afternoon snack with my sleeping in…)

Dinner:  Chicken w/ sauteeed Onions and zuchini baked with cherry tomaotes, olive oil, ital seasoning & mozz cheese

This is day 2 of the Movie Poster Inspiration Challenge on You LOOK FAB Forum this forum is the most supportive place if you are developing your style and want to ask opinions and the blog innovator Angie has the best articles on trends and outfit Inspirations.

 Star Wars

This movie was an all time favorite of mine.  I watched it with my father who passed away a year or so after this,  before any of the others were made.  Each time I went to the remainder of this series I thought of my father and how in awe we all were over the original one… A cherished memory!

luke-header

I was inspired by this classic outfit worn by none other than Luke Skywalker.

IMG_3122

I have had this tunic for almost four years and love the heck out of it… the funny thing is that I use to wear it with light tan pants more fitting with the inspiration… Fortunately I no longer fit into those pants and don’t currently own any in that color (note to self, correct that!)

IMG_3128

I totally humored my husband and wore these shoes again at his request.. After all he was nice enough to take my photos… Besides with temps near 80 boots were not at all going to happen!!! I did resist the urge to get the boys light sabers and have one of them dress up in the Darth Vader costume for a duel photo… I am  thinking when we go to the beach house in Nags Head in August that we should bring the movies and watch them in the evenings...

Found this photo of Connor my youngest in Walmart trying on Darth Vader, we have a great costume but couldn’t find a quick pick of my husband or son’s wearing it.  This one was easy as it was on the Iphone…

Dear Readers, Are you a Star Wars lover?  Any memories to share?  Would love to hear them!  As promised my food journal continues.. I have to mention that I eat things in cycles like this week a lot of salad greens, while next week I will make a great vegetable casserole that lasts me days… I don’t mind doing this but wonder if that much repetition is boring to others? Come Back tomorrow for “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”  Inspiration!

Gratitude:  I am grateful for a beautiful sunny day!   I am grateful for feeling better and going to my WW meeting after three weeks of stomach bugs and sinus infection… I am grateful for love and my strong faith!

Food Journal- This is my Plan for Tuesday

Breakfast: Protein Bar & Grapes (eaten at WW meeting after weigh-in)

Lunch: 2 Laughing Cow cheese wedges & Apple  (out thrifting after the meeting)

Dinner: Omelet w. mushrooms, onions & lowfat cheese & watermelon

Snack: Yogurt & few pieces of fajita steak

Keeping myself accountable is one of the main reasons I chose Weight Watchers as my vehicle to lose weight (along with no foods being off limit)  and writing my choices on the blog is really upping the anty… This has me  thinking if there were other bloggers who might add this to their daily post to keep them honest and accountable?  Not a blogger, how about posting it on your Facebook and get support that way.. Need more privacy what about choosing just one friend and doing a private message on Facebook or e-mail… Something to think about?

This week on the You Look Fab Forum, some of us are getting together and doing a week long movie poster inspiration styling challenge.  It can be as loose of an interpretation as you wish… Monday’s poster was Raiders of the Last Ark

My interpretation is something I would wear in my real life and if you are a regular reader,  no surprise that it involves a dress… My first thought when I saw these photos, was it’s a good thing I just started using a self tanner! Remember to check out all the lovely ladies at the link up Visible Monday and My Greatest Hits

IMG_3095

I thrifted this dress awhile back thinking it would be very versatile and multi seasonal.  I wore it once before , but scrapped the idea of layer ing this again as the sleeves are just too bulky even when you unroll it.. The material is rather stiff and unforgiving, I am hoping with a few more washes that it might help that.

IMG_3108

The purse was is a bronze color and was given to me by a dear friend.  I thought the relaxed slouchiness was appropriate for this casual look.  The shoes are my recent Ebay purchase and are Franco Sartos.  I have to take a moment to comment about the effect these shoes had on my dear husband… He loved them and when I say loved, I mean couldn’t say enough and felt they were very sexy.  This makes me very happy because as I have been developing my style and realizing I want an edge to my normal ultra feminine looks , my husband has been complimenting and fully embracing those changes.  I would still be choosing this path, but sure helps that he loves it too!

IMG_3109

Both the hat and my necklace were purchased in the Caymans.  I wear summer hats a lot to protect my face from sun damage so was thrilled to find a new one.   Just for fun I added my leopard scarf to the hat, which prompted my youngest to say, ” Whoaa Mom, you look like you are ready for a Safari!”  Too bad it was just to go outside for a photo  shoot.

IMG_3103

My husband snuck this picture as I was walking, but turned out that I used it to show you the scarf which I left hanging instead of doubling around the  hat…

Dear Readers, I had fun with this inspiration.. Come back tomorrow for the Star Wars Inspiration… And as promised I will add my food choices for Monday(today) at the bottom of this posting.  But First the gratitude section, which I hope inspires you to find your own each day!  All comments are welcomed and appreciated…

Gratitude: I am grateful for a husband who pays such attention to the little details.  He even notices when I change blush colors !   I am grateful for my resolve to get back on track and the discipline needed to do so.  I am grateful to my older brother for just stopping by to say hi (he works long hours and rarely does so!).  I am continually grateful for the lessons of faith,  love and optimism my parents modeled for  me that carry me through the obstacles of life!  I am so grateful for the phone call from Ashley as she sounded so relaxed and calm, winding down her senior year and getting ready for her college graduation (she finally finished her community service this weekend which is the reason for her relaxation!)

Monday’s Food Choices

Breakfast- Smoothie with yogurt, Sugar free French Vanilla Coffee Powder, banana and ice.

Lunch– I ate breakfast at 10am & didn’t feel hungry again until 2:30 so ate yogurt and grapes

Dinner– Leftover BBQ Chicken and salad greens with olive Oil & lt Italian W/green tea

Today I opted for a different smoothie as the frozen fruit one made me so cold yesterday, with just ice I was able to put the amount in to make it cold but not frozen…   I also planned my food out in the morning for the entire day as I knew what I was having for dinner and wanted to stay on track with my points which I did so, .Really proud of getting in all my daily goals including the two probiotics and green teas.. When I was sick these past weeks I was drinking way too many diet sodas!  Weigh In results on Wednesday!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!  I have some hope that Spring is upon us as the temperatures Sunday were about 60 and due for 70 tomorrow! The trees are all starting to bud!

This is my first look after the Take One, Pass It On Challenge, which was fun, but I lost inspiration and decided I was ready to move on.

IMG_2917I think I nailed the feeling of Spring with this look!

IMG_2927

It was cloudy and spitting rain so no need for sunglasses today!  This pink blouse is the one I bought on Friday when I went out thrifting and I know will become a versatile piece in my wardrobe.  I am also wearing a new vest that I purchased on ebay in my quest to add vests into my style…  Up until this point I only owned one brown faux fur one.  Stay tuned as I have a great black  DKNY one I purchased via ebay as well and of course my much desired moto one from F21 that I showed on Saturday’s Lucky Find post.

IMG_2936

I think my favorite part of this look has to be my Aerosoles ballet flats because they are cute, but also have enough padding to be comfortable.  I bought 4 pairs in different styles on a great sale in early fall  when they were on sale for just $19.99, but for one day only had an extra 25% off sale.  I only mention this to educate you if you are unaware, that signing up for e-mail alerts from your favorite brands or stores does pay off.   One of my favorite store is Steinmart and they send me e-mail coupons all the time for an extra 40%  off clearance items.  At Christmas time I was able to pick up summer pants and capris using that coupon and paid $4 to $5 for them.

Dear Readers, What are  your special ways to save on your fashion items?  As a mother of four, I have to create my style in create my style in a savvy way, but don’t mind that as I love the thrill of a deal!  I welcome and appreciate your comments!

Linking up today with Watch What I am Wearing and Visble Monday and Monday Bloom.  I highly recommend you explore some of the lovely ladies !

Gratitude:  I am grateful that it is Spring Break and things are easy and fun with no real bedtimes or schedules to keep!  I am grateful that my friend asked me to write her a recommendation letter, as it was my honor to do.  I am grateful  for a dryer to replace my current one that is not heating up… I am grateful to my oldest son for running errands for me.  I am grateful for time with my family and the Easter holiday to remind us of what is important.
