This is what I wore yesterday for the homeschool bowling ,

now that the parents are done for the season, I can wear whatever I want!

I have to say I loved the pink bag for a pink and purple look…

One thing I know about myself is that although I’ve made such great progress in my style.

and have totally succeeded in pattern matching and trying new silhouettes,

and perfecting a wonderful wardrobe for my lifestyle.

One thing that has held strong with me and seems to be the hardest to break is bringing in

an extra pop of color with shoes or handbags.

That matchy-match gene is strong in me….

I am so excited about finally replacing a white denim jacket.

Since my weight loss it’s been a missing piece for me that I longed to replace.

This cropped version by One World is so right for my petite height

and I am so glad I waited for the right one.

Dear Readers, I bought one item for my upcoming Vegas trip…

Joan Rivers Touch of Sparkle Sequin Blazer

I couldn’t help myself!

This is a Joan Rivers from QVC, and I am going to style it

with a plain black dress that converts from a dress to a skirt.

That is going to be my outfit for the Neil Diamond Concert…

I actually loved this jacket in the black version, too..

Gratitude

I am grateful for the fun and anticipation of the Vegas trip and quality time with my husband.

I am grateful for the anticipation that in just two weeks I will have my college kids home!

I am grateful for a wonderful conversation with my best friend, as we haven’t talked much lately…

I am grateful for the fun of the homeschooling group each Wednesday, it truly is a Godsend to a homeschooling mother of a strong willed teenager..

Once again I am doing a twist on the GYPO Spring Style Challenge,

and this time it was due to not having a great pair of dark straight or skinny jeans.

To be more specific, not a pair that fit me right now.

Today’s Outfit suggestion was to embrace the Denim on Denim Trend.

This was the one that caused the most stress among the challengers and I wish I had been able to pull it of myself.

Super simple outfit and I love the choice of shoes!

This is a great example of how the rend looks, of course for those in the challenge, a pair of bright flats are more suitable for the Spring vibe…

IMG_3825

Speaking of Spring Flats, I purchased these from Amazon just for the Spring Challenge.

My Chambray top is from Old Navy and again my bag is from Just Fab

As for my Jeans, what can I say, I am addicted to my Diane Gilman Jeans!

They never disappoint and have stretch that works for this frustrating time of weight fluctuations.

I loved this color combo and my new shoes are going to get a lot of use…

I have several ideas already for them…

If you haven’t added bright flats to your Spring Wardrobe, I highly recommend them.

Keeping it real, I added the jacket as the temperature was cool enough to warrant

it for my walk to the grocery store.

Gratitude

I am so grateful that I went back to bed this morning and caught up on some much needed sleep.

I am grateful for the fun of the Style Challenge and making these looks all my own.

I am grateful for the mess up and one pound weight gain from yesterday, as sometimes we can get complacent and wake up calls are good motivation.

I am grateful for the fun of going to the grocery store with my son to pick out fun marinades for Chicken, we have our two favorites and picked up two new ones as well.

I am grateful that tomorrow is Friday, it’s a long week, when you are waiting for birthday surprises for your child and I still have to wait for Sunday for most…

Today is the First Day of the

Get Your Pretty On Spring Style Challenge

and it was so fun to see how all the participants interpreted today’s look.

IMG_3762

The Outfit formula recommended olive or camo pants, a grey t-shirt and a colored cardigan with bright flats.

I however made it mine, by adapting for our nice warm temperatures.

The skirt A-line skirt I thrifted and love.

olive & Orange

The sunlight doesn’t clearly show the color of this Old Navy shirt as it truly is more like a fluorescent orange.

They actually named it Electric Cantaloupe.

The grey polk a dot top with white lace is one I bought last year from Old Navy.

I opted to let the day-glow color of the top stand on it’s own,

with no competition from the purse color and the lighter floral wedges worked too.

I am looking forward to getting some color on these legs of mine…

IMG_3773

I love wedges and unfortunately have had mine for a few season’s ,

so can’t point you in the direction of these.

Dear Readers, This is my second Get Your Pretty on Challenge and I do like them a lot. It’s fun to see how everyone interprets the look. I loved one participants pairing of a teal jacket with the olive, something I might not have done without seeing how well it looked.  That’s the fun of coming up with new ways to pair things in my closet.

Gratitude

I am grateful for a beautiful, sunny day and sitting out on the porch hanging out with my home-schooler this afternoon.

I am grateful for a fun walk to pick up supplies to make cupcakes to take to the bowling group on Wednesday to celebrate my youngest’s 15 birthday, which is Sunday.

I am grateful for my husband’s fun surprise last night of bringing me dessert in the form of a Shirley Temple in a nice wine class made with Diet Sprite and Sugar Free Grenadine along with a bowl of a fruit melody he put together.

I am grateful for the fun of this Spring Challenge and getting outfit ideas for the next few weeks, as things are going to be busy with birthdays, and two back to back weekends of bowling competitions, followed immediately by the two away at college coming home..
