Kimonos are so big this Season,

but I’ve been Rocking them for quite a few years now and will probably do so even

when the trend has faded….

They are a wonderful completer piece for Spring/Summer

I’ve had this kimono for several years and my love for it is still going strong.

I bought it from Steinmart because of all the different colors that would make it very versatile

Kimonos seemed to stir up the most angst among the GYPO Summer Style Challenge participants.

It was nice to see so many embrace the trend despite misgivings and end up loving it…

Nothing touched my heart more than when one of my regular readers

sent me a picture of herself in a kimono , recently!

Still can’t believe I am wearing more shorts this year.

These are 7 inch rise from Old Navy and I love them with the Clark’s Wedges,

The addition of the wedges helps my curvy petite figure.

A lot of the challengers had great luck with finding Kimonos at Maurices

Check out this how this wonderful blogger styles a kimono for the 50’s , 60’s and 70’s woman!

Dear Readers , you know I love completer pieces and along with kimonos, short sleeve cardigans, and shrugs, that I also love vests for Summer over tank tops and I bought a new one.

I loved this one by Liz Claiborne NY via QVC

Liz Claiborne New York Snap Front Vest with Eyelet Details

The extra eyelet detail really sold me , as any extra feminine touch suits my style!

This is going to be fabulous for Fall/Winter as well…

Gratitude

I am grateful for my knee feeling much better today!

I am grateful that my sons woke up and got to my youngest’s private bowling lesson today, because this insomniac was still asleep!

I am grateful that my daughter made it back to Boston and that I touched base with her last night…. she found that a mouse had gotten into all her food upon her return. The roommates had the exterminator come that day, so let’s hope this situation ends soon..

I am grateful that Saturday night we begin our fun Summer bowling league!

I am grateful that both my son and husband are being such troopers as they deal with poison ivy outbreak after their yard work this weekend…

Looking for more summer shoes with edge as currently I have mostly ballet flats and wedged slingbacks. I think these two are a great start, but might want one more lighter pair and maybe something in black.  Not sure of the style but looking…

I spent the day redoing my shoe shelves and rearranging things for the Spring Season…

I have a nice walk-in close that my husband and I double hung a few years ago and bought this floor to ceiling shoe rack at Sam’s Club... My husband has three shelves on it for himself and other space under his hanging clothes.. I store out of season clothes under my hanging clothes on the bottom…In case you are wondering the closet is 8 feet long by 6 feet wide.  It isn’t wide enough for me to take any good shots of my side… I have tops and skirts on the bottom bar, jackets, dresses and pants on the top… I also have two hanging canvas cubbies like this hanging on the top for cardigans and one for jeans.  In addition there is a shelf on the lower bar where I store sweaters and t-shirts… My tank tops and short sleeve cardigans and boleros are on bookshelf outside my closet.. I AM SO READY FOR SPRING!

Dear Readers, I have gotten back on track exercising and am feeling it!  I love doing the ballet bar workout and some other toning with weights as I can feel it right away, which motivates me to do it more often…  I have about a month until my daughters graduation and hope to have made good progress by then… Making myself accountable through WW’s is what helped me get to this point and I hope making myself accountable to you my dear readers will take me to the finish line!  Thanks for your encouragement and kind words.  Have a Wonderful Weekend filled with fun, laughter, friends and family!

Gratitude:  I am grateful to my brother for finding the answer to my dryer dilemma  it was the outside vent that was clogged!  I am grateful to my 17 year old for baking banana bread for his first time and not letting them go to waste.  I am grateful  that I am feeling better and was energized to organize my shoes today.  I am grateful for youngest his patience and willingness to  look through my purses until he found the cash I misplaced… I am grateful that my husband had a small break today that allowed him to take Connor for a much needed haircut and his surprising me with a Chick Fil A sandwich for lunch.  I am grateful my readers who left comments that made me think and confirmed that I am making an impact!!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!  I have some hope that Spring is upon us as the temperatures Sunday were about 60 and due for 70 tomorrow! The trees are all starting to bud!

This is my first look after the Take One, Pass It On Challenge, which was fun, but I lost inspiration and decided I was ready to move on.

IMG_2917I think I nailed the feeling of Spring with this look!

IMG_2927

It was cloudy and spitting rain so no need for sunglasses today!  This pink blouse is the one I bought on Friday when I went out thrifting and I know will become a versatile piece in my wardrobe.  I am also wearing a new vest that I purchased on ebay in my quest to add vests into my style…  Up until this point I only owned one brown faux fur one.  Stay tuned as I have a great black  DKNY one I purchased via ebay as well and of course my much desired moto one from F21 that I showed on Saturday’s Lucky Find post.

I think my favorite part of this look has to be my Aerosoles ballet flats because they are cute, but also have enough padding to be comfortable.  I bought 4 pairs in different styles on a great sale in early fall  when they were on sale for just $19.99, but for one day only had an extra 25% off sale.  I only mention this to educate you if you are unaware, that signing up for e-mail alerts from your favorite brands or stores does pay off.   One of my favorite store is Steinmart and they send me e-mail coupons all the time for an extra 40%  off clearance items.  At Christmas time I was able to pick up summer pants and capris using that coupon and paid $4 to $5 for them.

Dear Readers, What are  your special ways to save on your fashion items?  As a mother of four, I have to create my style in create my style in a savvy way, but don’t mind that as I love the thrill of a deal!  I welcome and appreciate your comments!

Linking up today with Watch What I am Wearing and Visble Monday and Monday Bloom.  I highly recommend you explore some of the lovely ladies !

Gratitude:  I am grateful that it is Spring Break and things are easy and fun with no real bedtimes or schedules to keep!  I am grateful that my friend asked me to write her a recommendation letter, as it was my honor to do.  I am grateful  for a dryer to replace my current one that is not heating up… I am grateful to my oldest son for running errands for me.  I am grateful for time with my family and the Easter holiday to remind us of what is important.
