Feeling Better….

Posted on: March 18, 2014

I felt well enough  to join friends for a weekend in Nags Head, NC…

I didn’t take any fantastic photos, but going to post them anyway…

I didn’t like how wide I looked in this photo, or how I looked after the road trip in the car…

We are our own worst critics….

Dinner with our friends, I have to say eating out for every meal for two days left me feeling terrible and having an upset stomach both nights…

My husband in front of one of the several restaurants we indulged in…This was my healthiest food of an Omelet with Feta, Tomato and Mushroom with a side of Strawberries…

I refuse to get in a picture on day 2 as I didn’t sleep at all the night before, just kept tossing and turning…some of it due to the stomach issues…. I was exhuasted and not feeling cute enough for pics..

Dear Readers, Monday was very busy getting my husband packed and ready for his work trip to Orlando to get certified in his new industry, Water Purification… I also missed grocery shopping on the weekend, so had to get the done once dear husband was off to the airport…. I am so jealous that he is in 80 degree weather and sharing our rain, but our temps are in the the thirties….

Spring is just days away, but somebody better tell Mother Nature…..as we are expecting Sleet !!!!

I will return to Fashion Posting Tomorrow!!!!

Gratitude

I am grateful that I was feeling better and had quality time with my husband and friends before he left for four days…

I am grateful to watch the freindship between my husband and his close friend, they really crack both his girlfriend and I up and just get each other…

I am grateful that my dear husband surprised our college bound son with a t-shirt he ordered online to his future school… and grateful it arrived when he was home packing and was able to see him open it and try it on and of course that beautiful smile that goes straight to my heart as I see my mother in him….

Nico in VCU

I am grateful for the potential of my homeschooler to meet twin girls and boy his age and in our neighborhood that posted for social activiites, he is excited and I hope I get an e-mail response before he crawls out of his skin…

I am grateful that my husband is working for an amazingly considerate boss who, when on vacation last week, e-mailed him to  express his appreciation for holding down the fort and taking up extra responsibilities and offered to give him Friday and Saturday off (with the boss covering my husband’s duties)  when they return from Orlando…

I am grateful that his boss also announced in the Monday morning meeting that in just the short time that my husband has been in this position ( 2 1/2 months) that he has made a big difference in their productivity and teaching them all to sell top equipment resulting in them having to get new inventory ( getting rid of lower end versions)  to meet the demand.  – My husband works very hard and gives every job he’s ever held his best and is modest and quiet about how good he really is, and thrives when it is recognized

So glad you were feeling well enough to enjoy some together time with husband on your getaway before he left on his business. Sorry about the tummy ache. Hubby and I came sooooo close to finishing our Whole 30, but didn’t quite do it. I had a very stressful day at work yesterday and we decided to go out and have a good hamburger and fries. ha But my tummy has been rebelling a little over the re-introduction to “bad food” the last couple of days too.

Wow we had similar experiences!!! I am glad to be back home eating my way… but it begs the question what will two weeks in Ireland be like in October?

Vacation can be so hard on our tummies. I just got back from two weeks and am so grateful to be home with my regular food!

Hope your vacation went well otherwise… I am a little concerned about a full two weeks in Ireland… wondering if I should bring protein bars and sunflower seeds….
