Wednesday I went to my son’s homeschool bowling, popped home for a quick bowl of plain greek yogurt and peaches for lunch
before heading out to use my Movie Pass for the first time!
$9.95 a month and my first movie was $9.05.
I chose “Forever My Girl”, one of those movies I would love but DH would not, lol
It was a cute story and I adored all the fabulous music throughout.
I wore my Amelia James Olive Aleyska Sweater Again, Lol
It was so tough to see the pictures and my weight gain, but it is my reality
and good for motivation. I feel like so much of myself has been lost these past
14 months of mourning, but am starting to slowly find my way back to being me.
A busy day and weeks means multi-tasking and I did just that…
I was talking on speakerphone to my 22 year old who is in college in Richmond.
I have been wearing these Aerosoles boots a lot lately and am in complete awe of their comfort.
I bought them last season , but did not wear them much and was disappointed to not find them still available for sale….
I am thinking next season I may need to stalk another pair of comfortable wedge version…
Follow this week to join my page and join me for a night of fun!
I am in a bit of a pickle with starting this business to soon after my sister passed and am trying to get myself
out of it, I have joined a group to learn more about Social Media for businesses and am having a clearance of
winter items tomorrow at 7:30 pm EST to see if I can sell of the winter items and not be stuck with that inventory
while I work on building my following to have better success in Spring and Summer!
Join me and share with friends, to help me sell these and generate funds to keep going with new fresh inventory.
Gratitude
I am grateful for the time spent with my youngest and his bowling.
I am grateful for my dearest friend giving me such a glowing review and asking her friends to support my business.
I am grateful for all the online supportive women in business who all support each other.
I am grateful that when my husband came home late last night with a friend from out of town to spend the night,
that I slept right through , their apparent loud talking that my children heard….

Definition of vibrant:
having or showing great life, activity, and energy
It certainly doesn’t get more vibrant than this Citrine colored poncho
by Diane Gilman . I love this very lightweight sweater knit which comes in a few colors.
I am wearing the XS/S and must say wearing a tank underneath is required
with how the arm holes are created . If Citrine isn’t your color they have a few color options.
I had my hair cut and colored today and I think Vibrant also describes this
new shade of red , my stylist chose for me.
I love that I have a hair stylist that loves doing all shades of red.
My white Jeans jeans are by Marla Wynne from last season,
but she has a similar version this season HERE
I have to say that these Naturalizer block heeled sandals
are giving my wedges some competition as they are very comfortable.
Mine are sold out, but no worries as Naturalizer is featuring
Block Heels on the their website right now with lots of options.
They have a nice cushion at the pad of you foot near you toes, that
really makes a difference in the comfort of wearing these all day.
Dear Readers, Thanks for Stopping By, wishing you a fantastic weekend!
Gratitude
I am grateful for the rescheduling of my hair appointment after for the first time ever, I forgot my original one.
I am grateful for being at a stage in mourning where I can say my sister’s name without bawling.
I am grateful for a nice Sunny Day after two days of clouds and a cold front.
I am grateful for a new venture I am about to start and which I will share in a few weeks with you.
I am grateful for today being the 99th day countdown towards my second annual Girl Friends Cruise .
Feeling Patriotic

We all have experienced disappointment when our favorite
Candidate lost , but this reaction is beyond reasonable.
It was sad to see friends attacking each other on Facebook and threatening to
unfriend any supporters of Trump or 3rd party candidates.
I think it’s hit a new low when Grubhub puts out a company email
calling for the resignation of those who support Ttump or Macy’s cancelling of Trumps clothing line.
I am not going to get political here, but going to just stand strong in my faith in our Democracy.
I decided to wear my flag scarf today , as I pray for those disappointed in the
election results to find peace within themselves as it is something we all can relate to
and have experience with (unless like my son who experienced the craziest of first elections )
I learned a new way to wear a infinity scarf from my private style group.
Normally, just put it twice around my neck and fluff it….
Today I hung it over my neck then twisted it twice before putting it
back over my head the second time.
I kept my boot color the same as my pants here to extend the leg line ,
which is important as a petite with the length of the sweater.
The hi-low front is a help in creating good proportions as well.
I have this sweater from last year in two colors and so does my daughter.
The good news is that it is back for the season and available HERE
Dear Readers please don’t leave comments getting into a political debate or
venting your frustrations, there are plenty of places to do that and my blog is not one of them.
I’ll leave you with one last thought I saw on Facebook yesterday :
” We should all wish President-elect Trump well , as he’s like a pilot of a plane
we are all on together. ”
P. S. Let me know if my directions on how I styled the scarf or if you
would do better if I made a video for you?
Gratitude
I am grateful for my friends and the wonderful support they offer in so many aspects of life.
I am grateful that I took a nap yesterday and didn’t get caught up in any toxic discussions on Facebook.
I am grateful that I did express compassion and a solution for more peaceful thoughts to someone.
I am grateful for this country and the wisdom of our forefathers who designed our government.
I am grateful for the conversations that this election process has brought out with my adult and teen children.
I am grateful that the stock market is doing well with the election results.
Honoring my Scottish Heritage

My Mother’s maiden name was Campbell and she was so
proud of her Scottish Heritage, in fact my youngest
brother carries the name Scott to honor her pride.
It was so fitting when she got strong enough after her heart attack to
take her life long dream trip to Scotland that my brother accompanied her.
Linking up with Classy Yet Trendy today
My mother instilled the Campbell plaid love to me when I was young.
I loved the kilt skirt complete with the gold pin I had as a child in this plaid.
It meant a lot for me as a child knowing it was a part of my heritage.
Can you believe I found this poncho when I was at AC Moore looking at craft stuff with my daughter.
It was just $14.99, so even though I didn’t need another poncho I couldn’t help myself.
Once again I am wearing the Halston lariat necklace (sold out) , it’s truly becoming a workhorse .
The green necklace is by Passage to Israel , found HERE .
I need to do a better job of getting my hair away from ears.
I bought these from TJ maxx last year in both green and purple and have worn both a lot!
This was the beginning of me improving my earring collection,
something I neglected as I wore gold and silver hoops only for the longest time.
My jeans are by Diane Gilman and are patched with silver sequins ,
are alas sold out,
It took me a long time to warm up to this type of “damaged” jeans ,
but this season the patched version came onto the scene making it more
comfortable for my style.
In this photo you can see the black and white plaid,
which I can reverse this to and it will have a tiny bit of this blackwatch plaid
just around the neckline. I will be giving it a try at some point.
I love these blue boots I bought two years ago when in Ireland,
they are perfect for adding to skinny jeans like this.
Dear Readers, this darn weather gave me a sever migraine on Monday,
leaving me with residual light sensitivity and nausea all day.
Apparently this was not just happening to me as a few Facebook friends had the same.
Gratitude
I am grateful that despite the residual side effects that I was pain free and the migraine was gone.
I am grateful that getting a new charger fixed my son’s laptop issue.
I am grateful that my daughter and son did a grocery store run for me today, as I wasn’t up for it.
I am grateful that I had the determination to fix spaghetti squash with bacon, Parmesan and mushrooms for dinner.
I am grateful for Fall weather arriving and the chance to start wearing some new items .
Choker Trend

Today is our last above 80 degree day in the forseeable
weather forecast and I am thrilled to have hope for Fall’s Arrival!
What better way to celebrate than to wear Red?
I also thought it would be fun to showcase the choker trend .
I’ve previously worn my pearl open choker several times.
But this is a completely different vibe with the thin black rope kind
that you wrap around your neck a few times.
You could tie it with a bow, but I preferred it like this,
just draping down the top.
Mine is from Jane.com ,but check out these from Amazon
My sheer top was bought for this Summer , but as I was changing
my closet over for Fall , I opted to keep my sheer tops out.
I plan to layer them over a long sleeve top or turtleneck
to extend their versatility.
The black rope choker trend has a bit of edge to it and I like how it is
a complete opposite juxtaposition to the floral kimono top.
I also think the choice of the white jeans are like the top a feminine element.
To increase the edginess I paired it with black open toed booties,
mine are over two years old and from Payless.
The leather hobo purse from yesterday’s look was
the perfect finishing piece to the edginess I was aim for.
Dear Readers, I heard a suggestion of trying a ribbon around your neck to test your tolerance
for a choker such as this once , since that can be an issue for many women. Mine is not around
my neck tightly and I can easily put my finger underneath it.
Gratitude
I am grateful for this last beautiful sunny Summer like day.
I am also grateful for the beautiful breeze today that made the temperature more bearable.
I am grateful to my son home from college for stepping in and giving my youngest a break from taking my blog photos.
I am grateful for leftovers and getting a break from cooking and cleaning up afterwards.
I am grateful for the fun we are all having with the new rabbit who came home with my son from college.
Where is Fall?

We got hit by Hurricane Matthew and had lots of flooding,
trees down, electricity out , vehicles damaged, etc
in our city, but lucky for us we just went without electricity for 28 hours.
Matthew brought with him a tease of Fall temps the day or two afterwards
For Some Inspiration from Other Bloggers for Fall Looks, Go Peruse the Link up at
and I managed to wear a new for the season fringe sweater( on clearance now)
and boho jeans(sold out), ,
but these are the best photos I managed as I was taking them at the wrong time of day.
I found this rhinestone letter T at Hobby Lobby recently and it’s actually a pin, I just put on a chain.
Today, I am left faking Fall, as we are experiencing a sunny 75 degrees.
A long sleeve striped sweater and a poncho worked perfectly for pretending.
These are all items from previous seasons that are now workhorses, vetted
and much loved. In fact that Old Navy poncho was a thrifted find.
The striped sweater was an end of season clearance from Ann Taylor,
one place I only shop online at end of season clearance time.
That link will send you to Ann Taylor’s clearance which is an additional 40% off right now,
and the time when I usually shop for a good deal.
This trend of rolling up jeans above the ankle boots and showing a little skin works for now and into
Fall, but I doubt I will be doing it through Winter.
A good navy bag is a must in my world and this Madi Claire is sold out, but
This one is available…. as is
This tote version with accessories and a nice tassle.
I am loving doubling up on the necklaces a lot lately.
This combo began with the large purple sliced stone piece that I picked up at Michael’s.
Of course it would work well on a long chain, but in order to double it up,
I opted to wear it on my new silver collar necklace (sold out)
Dear Readers, Thanks for Stopping by, I adore hearing from you, and
greatly appreciate each and every comment.
Gratitude
I am grateful that even though my sneezing didn’t go away all day, at least they became less often throughout the day. ( just after I completed typing this DD had a sneezing spout come on with 5 in a row)
I am grateful for my morning walk in the sunshine to get salad fixings to get back on track with healthy eating, as I have been terrible since I returned from the cruise.
I am grateful that my son away at college with our new bunny is doing a fantastic job of keeping us in the loop of her progress and cute behavior traits that are coming out as she explores her newfound freedom as a beloved pet and not a breeders show bunny.
I am grateful for sleeping in until 7:330 this morning , as it sure beats this darn menopausal change of 5-6am!
I am grateful for a nice walk with my daughter yesterday to the Dollar Store and AC Moore craft store as we had fun conversations with women and it was nice to see my daughter in that light , talking to older women. It was even better that she commented how nice that felt.

Well, Winter Took Long Enough Get Here and has Arrived with a Vengeance !
There were actually snow flurries as I was taking my photos.
I have waited a long time to debut this Liz Claiborne sweater, found here.
The reviews on this sweater suggest sizing down and I agree as I am wearing a small and could have gone down to xs.
My finger is healing nicely as the swelling finally went down within the last day or so.
I will be sporting my finger brace accessory for a few more weeks.
I was freezing during this photo shoot and ran inside to make a style change more fitting for my day of
grocery shopping.
The removal of my necklaces and addition of the chunky scarf were just what I needed.
With these cooler temps I tend to add hats to my looks as I actually were them in real life with my coat.
I’ve been taking a blogging break, but feeling better, so hopefully will be back to a regular schedule of posting.
I am going to add a new feature this year called ,
Today in Self Care
Today in the interest of self care, I asked for help from my sons quite often as by using my left hand, I had strained the other fingers. My son home from college used my slicer to slice my zucchini for my second thing in slef care for the day which was to bake my zucchini, mushroom, tomato, italian seasoning and parmesan cheese casserole. I had a huge bowl for my dinner and ate healthy for the day!
Gratitude
I am gratedul that I awoke this morning to no sinus pressure and no sore throat!
I am grateful to my sons for their help today with everything from cleaning, to cooking and even laundry.
I am grateful to my youngest for braving the cold not just once, but twice to take my photos.
I am grateful for a wonderful conversation with my daughter who is back in Boston.

Yes, I really was teasing my teen photographer by
Singing in the Rain
as we did our Photo shoot on this grey Monday
We not might like raining Mondays,
but the squirrels have been happily digging in the yard
and scurried up the tree as I came to pose here.
I love this scarf with the navy and seafoam green coloring.
I can’t wait for winter to pair it with my new seafoam leather jacket.
I also like adding the tasel necklaces to infinity scarves as it
definitely has a slimiing effect with the addition of the vertical lines .
Just for fun , here is my Hallowwen Costume
And My “DEEP SEA SCOUNDREL”
And my Daughter who is at Boston College and Spent the day
in Salem getting stopped numerous times to have her picture taken.
I am loving this Susan Graver Cardigan I bought in both this Navy color
and in Chocolate Brown.
With the poly/spandex material, it really is working well for
my menopausal hot flashes..
In fact I originally styled this look of the day with a sheerling black vest,
but was too warm and had to forgo it.
Dear Readers, I must share with you that I made the commitment last week to run on the treadmill at least three days a week in a push to lose this darn menopausal weight gain before my anniversary in January. I succeeded and even did my last on on Sunday when my sinuses were acting up. I hate caridio, but really need to get that into my routine and am loving that I am pushing myself and proud too.
Grateful
I am grateful for a fun weekend with our bowling friends!
I am grateful for our lazy Sunday, watching football.
I am grateful for my son setting his own homeschooling schedule today, opposite of our plan and still taking responsibility to get it all done.
I am grateful that my husnband is doing well and happy with his new job and away from toxic chaos.

While the first Picasso Painting was grey. black and white this one is full of color.
I was inspired by the flower print so wore my print pants
Well, I’ve said often enough that I Love Color…
These Diane Gilman stretch jeans are so forgiving with my weight gain,
but will still work when I continue to lose..
Seriously this day of drizzle was the first day of Spring???
This jacket and the orange shutter pleat blouse were both items I found at BJ’s…
Don’t leave out those type of stores for great items and prices…
Shoes are Payless and Dooney bag was a gift…
This weather is not great for a girl’s hair…
It was fun to be inspired to put all these colors together…
I might have done this look with no prompting myself by leaving off the scarf…
Dear Readers, Wishing YOU a wonderful weekend,
Thanks for stopping by!
More Picasso LOOKs Coming Next Week!
Gratitude
I am grateful for the possibility of a homeschool cruise for October 2016 leaving right from our neck of the woods when Carnival brings their line back to Norfolk…
I am grateful for a fun day reminiscing with my homeschooler about his love of performing and encouraging him to sing for a talent show I am hoping to put together for our homeschool group.
I am grateful for my dear friend who is always there when I need her.
I am grateful for the weekend and days of just being Mom, not teacher…
I am grateful for Pizza and wings delivery, cut my finger on the blade of my Ninja blender.. not cooking tonight…

That blog title reference my Navy blue Hiking boots and Outfit
Not my frame of mind…
It’s a Wonderful Rare Snow Day!
I loved getting a chance to wear my thrifted navy hiking boots that I dreamed of
and miraculously found in brand new condition at Salvation Army…
They aren’t just good for a trip to Ireland…
They Inspired me to go with a mostly blue outfit for the day...
The dark outfit against the snow is exactly what I was aiming for!
A pair of skinny jeans, black cashmere sweater and navy cape are all for warmth
and what’s more fun than a cape?
My hat is down a little more than I’d prefer…
I liked adding the navy and white scarf I found at F21 last year and the white necklace
as a nod to the snow background…
I am very happy I scored the fun cape on clearance off season for just $9.99.
Dear Readers, It’s still late afternoon as I type this, but I know that the finish to my snow day is going to be a nice cup of hot chocolate with a nice shot of Ameretto… I haven’t done that at all this winter, which is unusual.. I guess my eating hasn’t been the best, so I didn’t further indulge as a way to maintain my weight.. I think I have that backwards and should do better during the day and indulge in an evening cup of relaxation ….A new plan for the rest of the month???
What’s your ultimate winter indulgence???
Gratitude
I am grateful for the fun of a snow day and a day of from homeschooling where I got to be the Fun Mom, instead of the pain in his neck teacher!
I am grateful for the sharing and connection all around with everyone’s excitement over the snow.
I am grateful that my husband didn’t have to work today, so he could hang out with our son and have some good bonding time, cause this mom isn’t much for playing in the snow….
