Versatile Style by Tracey

Archive for the ‘pink’ Category

I recently had a break-through that I have not at all been being myself ,

or being in Self Care, instead I got caught up in some one else’s angst

and did not attend my Weight Watchers meetings for a month.

This is all on me , no one else ,and so out of character that I am shocked as I always worked

this program with great success , but this time I didn’t track food, didn’t focus on drinking water,

yet did semi keep up exercising!

I have 25 lbs to lose!

I went back to my meeting this morning and thoroughly enjoyed my morning walk there and the conversations I opened up to,

as before I was going with someone and mostly talking to just her, which was unusual for me too…

I had great conversations with the women around me and we had a Leader come to

speak about the new Focus program where it is truly about being mindful and they did a few exercises-

one with deep breathing and one asking us to state our name

and to describe our current state in One Word.

I said, “Determined”  because I am going to refocus on this weight loss despite

my current situation of emptying out my sister’s condo tomorrow,

going solo in my business and really starting this Amelia James clothing boutique business up!

The Focus program is for members and non members and is $25 per session or you could get 3 sessions for $50.

Each month is a new theme and I was just praying this week

for a group of like minded, conscious women and this sounds like the answer!

The Good News is that I lost 2.6 lbs in the month I skipped meetings!

If you are a regular of my blog you know I am not much of a shirt tucker,

but do like the half tuck I wore it to my meeting with in the top picture, but

I had to play with knotting it too, lol

This top is one I sell from my Amelia James line , unfortunately I have no link to share

as my Facebook Group that linked to my Shop Button has completely disappeared.

I have not heard back from Facebook as to what happened and may just have to start from scratch!

I will get through clearing out my sister’s condo tomorrow and then work to start a new page!

I love this shirt and instantly knew I would pair it with my blush pink shorts from

Old Navy and my white slip-ons by Sperry were the perfect walking shoe.

Gratitude

I am grateful for sunshine and a non-humid day perfect for walking.

I am grateful for life experiences and the comfort of my personal growth.

I am grateful for the love and support of family and friends

I am grateful for weekend phone calls from my son at Marine Officer Training School and his upbeat positive nature.

I am grateful for the support of my children and husband in the process of emptying out my sister’s condo tomorrow!

I’ve always had a love for pink and quotes, so thought today

as we await the election results that I’d do a post with both.

“Man is the only animal that blushes. Or needs to.”
Mark Twain

My sweater is Halston via QVC on clearance found here

The vest is Chadwicks and is on clearance for just $12.99 found here.

“He had been searching for it his entire life. He had devoted himself to poetry to find it. Now, in the middle of his life, he found it. It was in the face of the love of his life, his daughter. She who had never blushed before, now blushed. And in that blushing, he knew, was the existence of God. That was the day her father learned what God was. God was pure beauty, God was his daughter’s face when she blushed.”

I originally had planned on wearing grey riding boots with this outfit,

but at the very last minute switched to the espadrilles as I know the time to keep

wearing them is drawing close, but we were in the 60’s today!

My Favorite Quote regarding the color Blush is:

All of my tank tops prior to the additions I’ve made this season,

were just layering pieces and tighter .

I love these looser styles that can stand on their own.

I have had great success with TJ Maxx to acquire several at wonderful prices.

This one by August Silk is just $14.99 , which I bought

in size Medium according to the size chart for my

39 inch bust size.

Scoop Neck Tank With Keyhole Front

I didn’t buy this one, but it too is at the same price point .

Colorful Creations Quilted Totes - Orange

My tote is actually a set of 12 by Willabee Ward that comes each month in different colors.

They are quilted and have different patterns and colors, all with a little sparkle.

The designs are just on the front and the back is solid with quilting.

I love how light the fabric totes are for days when my back is bugging me and I want a lighter purse.

Truth be told I have been considering a life of traveling in a RV for retirement and thought these would replace purses and save space should that indeed be in my future…..

I love this very flowy vest that I picked up last year at the end of the season and

didn’t get to wear that much.

An added perk to the way I shop clearance sales on QVC,HSN and Evine is that

I buy either at the end of the season and get to enjoy it for a short time and feel like it’s

almost brand new when the following season comes around.

I also buy from those places right before a season begins from last year’s inventory that is on clearance still, which is how I got the fuschia pants I am wearing.

Gratitude

I am grateful that my problems are so small compared to what others in my life are facing right now.

I am grateful for the fun my daughter and I had watching “Gran Hotel” ( a spanish show on Netflix with subtitles) as we stayed up for nights watching the three seasons.  It’s nice to have a girl back in the house!

I am grateful for AC it’s so nice to be cool when the heat and humidity come.

I am grateful to my son home from college who is supporting his brother with lots of trips to the bowling alley to practice for his State Tournament coming up on Father’s Day weekend.

I am grateful that my hot shower helped my sinus pressure headache disipate.

With my Back Acting up Since the

Jimmy Buffet concert last weekend,

I haven’t been much for taking blog photos.

DSC_3503-2

I took these photos on Tuesday when we had warm weather return

and I was thrilled  and showed it by wearing my “Lovely Day” tshirt from last season.

I found the floral slip ons on Jane.com and

added an orthotic as they are not at all the comfort of my Clark’s.

DSC_3504-3

My skirt is from QVC and a first purchase from George Simonton’s line.

I like the swingy nature of this skirt and bought it in yellow as well.

It’s a very odd much thicker fabric than I anticipated,

but I do love the length and will get much use of this for Spring and Summer.

DSC_3508-2

If you look closely you may notice I have a new accessory

on my wrist, A Fitbit Charge I scored off Ebay in Navy.

I am loving seeing how many steps I take each day and up until I hurt my back,

was very motivated to move more and increase to reach my goal of 10,00.

This week I’ve only reached about half that on most days, but not stressing as the more

I try to do the worse my back is by the end of the day…

It’s not easy to limit myself , but that is what I must do at this point, ice packs, a  new massager, yoga stretches, tumeric and a new Magnesium gel are among my arsenal to allow my back to heal.

Dear Readers, Wishing you all a wonderful weekend, thanks for stopping by!

Gratitude

I know this is silly, but I am grateful for the back trouble as it is confirmation that I danced and had as wonderful a time as I had hoped for at the Jimmy Buffet Concert, lol..

I am grateful for the help from my husband and son during this time of taking it easier…

I am grateful that our weather is now more like a normal Spring of swings from the 60’s to 80.

I am grateful to my hard-working  husband!

I am grateful for the sweet kind, compassionate nature of my youngest son, who sent his Iphone to Massachusetts and is doing without for a few weeks until his new phone arrives. He sent it to his sister as her motherboard blew and she was lost in Boston on Marathon weekend with no GPS…

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter Weekend!

Our weather took a cold turn with rain, so it was a nice

chance to break out one of my leather jackets.

IMG_4191

I orginally took this shot without my glasses, but in order to indulge my

photographer who thinks my glasses add character,

I happily put them back on and posed again.

Love that kid of mine!

For a few months, I had misplaced my camera and recently found it in the back pocket

of my purple purse.  After recharging the battery, my son couldn’t wait to take my photos,

even making me wait for him to get dressed when his father was right there willing to take my pictures.

I love how invested he is in my blogging journey!

IMG_4195

My husband hadn’t noticed this Gili leather jacket despite my having worn it before.

He actually complimented it three times , once when he first saw me in it, once when we were at

the grocery store and again when we got home as I took it off to get cooking dinner.

It’s currently on sale in several colors for $109 on QVC with payments of just $18.16 available.

I am wearing a size 10 in this line, which was perfect as the arms fit snug,

so an 8 would have been too tight.

IMG_4196

My Liz Claiborne NY blouse, which I absolutely love, is the opposite

and runs big as I am wearing an xs and it’s not tight on my 34DDD chest.

You can’t see it very well, but I am also wearing a Halston Belt from QVC ,which I recently bought in a size xs/s , as I didn’t want it long enough to have to tie it in a bow.

Jeans are wonderful bootcuts by Diane Gilman and a great weight for Spring/Summer.

Purse by JOY & IMANfrom Hsn as well.

My Peep toe booties are last year’s from Payless.

Gratitude

I am grateful my daughter used her boyfriend’s cell phone to call me Saturday night after her Anime conference to share with me all that happened and how much fun she had. Her own phone is shutting off  and messing up.

I am grateful that my husband took our son to see Batman Vs Superman movie, allowing me a rare night at home alone.

I am grateful for all the texts I received from my siblings on Easter and the one my sister shared where she had made a donation to church in memory of our parents and their names were printed in the bulletin.

I am grateful for a fun evening of cooking Easter dinner together with my husband, as we don’t get to cook together often.

Well, Today’s color is Pink !

I am wearing the color, but that is not why I entitled this post that way…

I am over the moon happy at my UPS Delivery of the Day!

DSC_2870-2

UPS brought me these fabulous boots by Isaac Mizrahi Live, via QVC.

I bought them on a day when they were on air with special pricing .

I couldn’t help myself as I had been thinking I needed another pair of flat ankle boots.

I have several ankle boots but they are all with heels and my sciatica flares up once in awhile.

DSC_2870-3

It wasn’t terribly sunny , so I took a picture without my sunglasses, lol

DSC_2882-2

I put this outfit together by knowing I wanted to wear pink,

then grabbing the scarf, so navy ponte leggings was logical.

I originally paired this outfit with navy New Balance sneakers for a sporty vibe.

That lasted until the delivery of my boots, lol.

DSC_2873-2

I absolutely love the boots and they are so comfortable..

My feet have been very happy all day…

Tomorrow’s color of the challenge is Yellow!

Self Care

Today in self care, I’d have to say taking it easy when I had a migraine today..

We didn’t go to homeschool bowling and I didn’t do much at all , resting up is important!

Gratitude

I am grateful that my headache improved by late afternoon.

I am grateful that when my husband came home for a break, that I was able to be there for him to vent over some silly minor work frustrations.

I am grateful that my boots were so much to my liking and super comfortable.

I am grateful for Hump day and being one day closer to the weekend as getting back into homeschooling with my son having a stomach virus is stressful on week 2 back after a month break….

Well, Winter Took Long Enough Get Here and  has Arrived with a Vengeance !

DSC_2581

There were actually snow flurries as I was taking my photos.

I have waited a long time to debut this Liz Claiborne sweater, found here.

The reviews on this sweater suggest sizing down and I agree as I am wearing a small and could have gone down to xs.

DSC_2593

My finger is healing nicely as the swelling finally went down within the last day or so.

I will be sporting my finger brace accessory for a few more weeks.

I was freezing during this photo shoot and ran inside to make a style change more fitting for my day of

grocery shopping.

DSC_2596-2

The removal of my necklaces and addition of the chunky scarf were just what I needed.

With these cooler temps I tend to add hats to my looks as I actually were them in real life with my coat.

I’ve been taking a blogging break, but feeling better, so hopefully will be back to a regular schedule of posting.

I am going to add a new feature this year called ,

Today in Self Care

Today in the interest of self care, I asked for help from my sons quite often as by using my left hand, I had strained the other fingers.  My son home from college used my slicer to slice my zucchini for my second thing in slef care for the day which was to bake my zucchini, mushroom, tomato, italian seasoning and parmesan cheese casserole.  I had a huge bowl for my dinner and ate healthy for the day!

Gratitude

I am gratedul that I awoke this morning to no sinus pressure and no sore throat!

I am grateful to my sons for their help today with everything from cleaning, to cooking and even laundry.

I am grateful to my youngest for braving the cold not just once, but twice to take my photos.

I am grateful for a wonderful conversation with my daughter who is back in Boston.
