My Lucky Finds Friday

Posted on: June 7, 2013

Ok, I no, I didn’t even last a week on my no buying month… I had to take back two pairs of shoes and a dress that my daughter didn’t want and once there of course had to take a look around Goodwill…

These Fioni heels were just calling to my edgy side and after wearing them all around the store with no discomfort, I just had to have them… Gotta say no regrets here, my husband loooved them…. They were brand new condition and just $5.00

This is a separate top and skirt.  I found the New York & Co top for  just $2.00 and later my friend found this skirt by Catherine Stewart and insisted it was me and that I should try it on.. I love the cutouts and it was just $4.99.

I loved this Merona hoodie and thought for $2.00 it would be perfect for a night at the beach with my white skinny jeans..

Bring on the stripes!!!  I want more easy casual skirts for my everyday Mom lifestyle and this green and navy striped one by Merona for $4.99 will do nicely… besides I have a perfect green sweater to pair with this…

I did say Bring on the Stripes... You can’t have too many right!?? Love this in moacha for winter and it’s so soft.  This is by Element and was just $2.00

Hey, I couldn’t help myself, it’s not every day you find a teal vest by New York & Co  for just $3.50

And Trying to Up my College Gradaute Daughter’s wardrobe we found these at Sam’s Club

This great cobalt dress for just $16.99 is perfect for subistute teaching next year or in grad school as a T. A.  It can be worn multi seasons as well.

This shirt and the one below are both by Eddie Bauer  for $11.99 and are a step up from her college t-shirts which drive me nuts…

Dear Readers, I hope to do better at resisting next week…. I really do want to re do my daughter’s entire wardrobe this year… wish me luck as she is not cooperative.  She acts like she doesn’t want to but gotta say she tried all these pieces on over her clothes at the store…I think she just feels funny being a college grad and this year of limbo before Grad school… So, any favorites???? I hope you all have a wonderful weekend… We are expecting rain, so may not be as fun as I wanted… no beach concert….

Gratitude

I am grateful for a surprise phone call from my husband at 11:30am saying he had no appts til much later and wanted to take me and my youngest out for breakfast… I reminded him that our daughter was home too… So we had a wonderful brunch at IHOP.

I am grateful that even after brunch and running to Sam’s Club that my husband was able to just hang out being silly with us for a few more hours.

I am grateful that my husband’s company cancelled the Tradeshow department he managed as now when he has no appointments he is free to come home and spend time with us instead of going to the office and fitting in those duties.

I am grateful for left over Tacos and not having to cook dinner tonight!!!

Ooooh, so many great finds! I especially love the orange/white striped hoodie because I’m loving the orange lately. (A woman walked past me in the bank and was decked out in a bright tangerine orange dressy pant and top with heels and looked stunning! I was poking my husband saying, “Honey! Honey! Did you see that woman’s outfit?!” Now I feel like I need a bright, dressy orange ensemble. ha)
Also love the shoes w/ zippers.

Funny thanks for sharing. i had the most fun at brnch with my husband with an ensemble I put together for him and he joked me about…He’s from Boston and it involved cowboy boots… When we arrived at the restaurant he saw a girl wearing a very similar look and instantly changed his mind, and rethought his opinion and is now encouraging me to phototgraph mine… Admiring others is a curse for us thrifters to accumulate more!!!

Serious fail on No Buy Month! Those heels are pretty amazing though, and I also love the striped cardigan.

Yes, but good thing was that the gift card from my returns covered over half of my failure… Wish my daughter would make getting a better wardrobe for her more fun as it would definitely help my commitment to no buy June and I guess now I have to add the first week of July to make up for this…

Wow . . . what great finds!!! 🙂

Your Goodwill store must be fantastic…..I can’t get over those amazing shoes!

Thank you! I pinch myself sometimes at how great the finds in that store… not all thrift stores are created equal!
